Today will be going through the in-depth concept of
computer and its application , through the journey
we will be covering the whole and sole features of the
computer application and its effect . Application like
MS –word , designing tool – Coral Draw .
we will be seeking more about the networks and
windows operating system .

4. Basic Term of Designing Industry
Industrial Design is a process of design applied to product
that are to be manufactured through techniques of mass
production
Design is the creation of a plan or convention of an object
or a system . E.g.
The emergence of industrial design is specifically linked to
the growth of industrialization and mechanization that
began with the industrial revolution in Great Britain in the
mid 18th century
5. Product design and industrial design overlap in the fields of user interface
design, information design, and interaction design. Various schools of
industrial design specialize in one of these aspects, ranging from pure art
colleges and design schools (product styling), to mixed programs of
engineering and design,
6. Scanner and its types
Scanner is a device that captures images from
photographic prints , posters , magazine pages and
similar sources of computer editing and displaying
Flatbed Scanners
Flatbed scanners will take up some desktop space but
provide a lot of bang for the buck.
They look like miniature printers with a flip-up cover
protecting the glass platen
7. Types of scanner
Photo Scanners
Scanning documents doesn’t require high resolution
or color depth; but scanning photos does. Many all-
purpose scanners can also scan photos, meaning that you
don’t need a separate device to handle your photographs
Sheetfed Scanners
Sheetfed scanners are smaller than flatbed scanners; as the
name implies, you feed a document or photo into the
scanner's automatic document feeder, or ADF, rather than
place it on top of the platen one photo or document at a
time.
8. Types of scanner
Portable Scanners
Portable scanners are small enough to bring on the
road. In fact, some are small enough to put in your
pocket; pen scanners are just a bit bigger than fountain
pens and can scan the text of a document line by line
9. Blaise Pascal of France and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz of
Germany invented mechanical digital calculating machines
during the 17th century.
During the 1830s Babbage devised his so-called Analytical
Engine, a mechanical device designed to combine basic
arithmetic operations with decisions based on its own
computations.
10. Digital computer
Digital computer, any of a class of devices capable of solving
problems by processing information in discrete form. It operates on
data, including magnitudes, letters, and symbols, that are expressed
in binary code—i.e., using only the two digits 0 and 1
By counting, comparing, and manipulating these digits or their
combinations according to a set of instructions held in its memory, a
digital computer can perform such tasks as to control industrial
processes and regulate the operations of machines;
A typical digital computer system has four basic functional elements:
(1) input-output equipment, (2) main memory, (3) control unit, and
(4) arithmetic-logic unit.
11. Power Clip Effect on Corel Draw
Power Clip gives you the ability to place an object or multiple objects
inside a container. This container can be made up of a single object,
several objects, or text.
The power clip effect provides the designers to crop the object or text or
images in CorelDraw. The power clip effect is similar to masking effect
in Macromedia Flash. If we have any image or object and want to have
only the specific portion visible then we need to use the power clip
effect.

13. STEPS TO PUT WATERMARK..
A watermark is a picture or text that appears behind a
document's contents. It's usually a light grey or other
neutral color so it doesn't distract too much from the
document's purpose. Usually, a watermark identifies a
company or the document's status.
14. HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE..
HARDWARE is the component that can be seen and
touched.
Components of hardware
Input device - output device -processing device-storage
Input device- mouse,keyboard,joistick,scanner,light pen
Output device - monitor, printer, spikers, potters
Processing device - process the data as per the
instructions and send result to output device.
Storage device - storage device are those which store
data in its memory.
15. Utility software- this software provides by vendors as
readymade packages to do some specific operations
HARDWARE is the component that can be seen and touched.
16. SOFTWARE means a program which is install in
machine for a specific purpose.
Types of software
System software - application software -utility software
System software - system software handle the
hardware of a machine which configure the hardware
penetration. Exp. WINDOW, DOS, WIPRO, UNIX
Application software - application software meant
create relatation between system and application soft.

17. Method to change to change the Slide back ground ,
and applying the same
1
Display the slide you want to customize.[1] Select a slide to modify by clicking on its
thumbnail on the left side of the screen. If you want to change the background for all of the slides
in the presentation, you’ll be able to do that shortly.
2
View background fill options.[2] Right-click on the current slide background (Ctrl+click on a
Mac) and select “Format Background.” Select “Fill” from the left panel to view your options.
Create a solid background. To make the background a single color, choose Solid fill. Click the
“Color” button to select a color from the palette.
4
Fill your background with a colored gradient. Select Gradient fill to effectively make one (or
more) color(s) fade into another. Select one of the preset gradients from the menu or design your
own. Use the Direction menu to view different gradient pattern options, and the “Gradient stops”
slider to adjust where each color begins and ends
5
Make the background an image or texture. Select Picture or texture fill to use any personal
photo as your slide background.Click “File” to select the location of your custom image. Or, if you
prefer, choose one of the preset textures from the list.
You can move the Transparency slider to adjust how opaque the image or texture will appear. If
you choose a “busy” image or pattern, you may want to raise the transparency so the text on your
slide remains easy to read.
18. 6
Fill the background with a preset pattern. If you have
PowerPoint 2013 or later, you can select the Pattern
fill option to choose from a list of simple preset patterns.
Modify the colors in these patterns with the “Foreground” and
“Background” menus beneath the pattern palette.
Apply the changes. If you decide you don’t like any of the
background options, click the “Reset Background” button to
return to the previous background. Otherwise:If you only
want the new background to appear on the current slide, click
“Close” to save the changes.
If you would like every slide in your presentation to have the
new background, click “Apply to All.”
19. Note on Operating System
Operating System is software that works as an interface between a
user and the computer hardware. The primary objective of
an operating system is to make computer system convenient to use
and to utilize computer hardware in an efficient manner. The
operating system performs the basic tasks such as receiving input
from the keyboard, processing instructions and sending output to
the screen.
21. VPN LAN & WAN ( Networks )
A network is a system of hardware and software, put together for the purpose of
communication and resource sharing. A network includes transmission hardware, devices
to interconnect transmission media and to control transmissions, and software to decode
and format data, as well as to detect and correct problems. There are several types of
networks in use today. This chapter will focus on three of them:
LAN - Local Area Network
The most widely deployed type of network, LANs were designed as an alternative to the
more expensive point-to-point connection. A LAN has high throughput for relatively low
cost. LANs often rely on shared media, usually a cable, for connecting many computers.
This reduces cost. The computers take turns using the cable to send data.
WAN - Wide Area Network
o be considered a WAN, a network must be able to connect an arbitrary number of sites
across an arbitrary distance, with an arbitrary number of computers at each site. In
addition, it must have reasonable performance (no long delays) and allow all of the
computers connected to it to communicate simultaneously. This is accomplished with
packet switches.
22. VPN - Virtual Private Network
VPNs are built on top of a publicly-accessible infrastructure, such as
the Internet or the public telephone network. They use some form
of encryption and have strong user authentication. Essentially a
VPN is a form of WAN; the difference is their ability to use public
networks rather than private leased lines.
