1. Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the
independence of the countries of Costa
Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras,
and Nicaragua.
It also acknowledges the presence of
Hispanics in North America.
The first Hispanic Heritage Month was
celebrated in 1968.
Some ways that classrooms can
participate in Hispanic Heritage Month
are making Ponce Carnival masks,
papeles picados, growing a heritage
garden, playing games from Hispanic
culture, or having a Latin dance party.
