Rødby Harbour connects Rødby, Denmark to Puttgarten, Germany via a ferry service operated by Scandlines. Considered an important transport link, ferries run every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. Plans were made to replace the ferry service with a bridge or tunnel, though the project has faced delays and environmental concerns. In the meantime, Scandlines refurbished the ferry linkspan area at Rødby Harbour using an anti-skid coating to repair 1200 square meters. The company also upgraded its ferries with hybrid propulsion systems and scrubbers to reduce emissions.
