1. TASK 4
Rough edit
This is a very rough cut version of our short film ‘Keepsake’ This version of
the film features only part of the second half of the film because at the time
the beginning scenes and shots were un-filmed and the final scenes were not
cut into this version due to time issues. The synchronized sound is slightly off
in a barely but still noticeable way this will affect the overall feel of the film
making it feel and sound less professional and bringing down the production
quality. Apart from finishing the actual film itself and putting the missing
scenes in and fixing a few minor sound errors the film will be greatly
improved, there is a slight issue with one scene in particular where the young
girl gets up from her chair and gets into bed (not included in rough edit due
to problems) the camera is slightly shaky when tracking the girls movement
to the bed and the microphone comes into shot, there is also a small
Continuity error where the bed sheets are already open this is because the
scene we have is a second take and our actress had forgotten to put the
covers back into place. Without shooting again this scene can be fixed
through means of editing where we cut to the girl already in her bed instead
of her walking towards it which fixes the camera shakiness and continuity
error and to further fix the shot where the microphone is showing we can
enlarge the shot and fit it back onto screen leaving no one the wiser. There is
one particular sound error that stands out when the pair walk up the stairs to
the bedrooms where the footsteps they take do not match up perfectly with
the sound each step makes and there is also a very slight difference in sound
when the door is closed in the beginning of this version where the lock makes
a clicking noise before it is perfectly back into place, although this is quite a
miniscule problem and will most likely be overlooked and or not noticed.
