Recruited by UNC Hospital one year after completing my graduate school internship in the ASAP program.
As a clinician I sought out as much clinical training and expertise as I could, and was able to improve my clinical skills significantly.
Led multiple group therapy sessions for patients suffering from addiction and mental illness.
Provided crisis intervention for countless families who felt their children’s lives were in danger due to their use.
Begun the traditional Thanksgiving meal for the patients, which are still being upheld today.
Was asked to step in as the interim director when the Director stepped down.
Served as Interim Director while continuing my duties as a clinician for many months, while recruiting and interviewing was ongoing.
Applied for the position, and was hired in the Director’s position permanently.

1997 to 1999 performed investigator duties, and served 24 hour on-call investigation duties with law enforcement.
1997 to 1999 investigated allegations of child abuse and neglect, and took all necessary action, and met all necessary state mandates.
1999 to 2007 moved to Chapel Hill, NC to transition to Child Protective Services in Orange County as a Treatment Social Worker.
Managed the treatment of parents who had been substantiated for neglect or abuse of their child/children.
Completed all necessary state mandated documents, prepared testimony, court reports, and treatment summaries.
Was recruited by the Chief District Court Judge to be part of a pilot family treatment court, which is now statewide and very successful.
Developed an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program for adolescents in foster care. I was also a clinician on the Equine Assisted
therapy team.
Led multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to provide comprehensive care and support for families and children.
