2. IEDC - PEC
IEDC is a non-profit separate independent central facilitating centre
with in the institution to promote the Innovation and entrepreneurship
among the students and thus equipping them to be job providers rather
than job seekers as they pass out of the institution.
 Vision -
"To be an independent central support cell with in the institution,
irrespective of the branch/department, catering to the needs of young
entrepreneurs with innovative ideas of national/international
importance and societal needs"
 Mission -
"To develop institutional mechanism with required infrastructure to
create entrepreneurial culture in the institution that enable students
and faculty to innovate and prototype their innovation with support
from Govt., industry and other academic institution to foster growth of
innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the faculty and students"

7. Major Activities of IEDC: Workshops & Events
1) A 2 day Workshop cum Innovation & Entrepreneurship Orientation Program for 1st year
students organized by IEDC on 18-19July 2018 by OFB (Out oF Box), Start-Up from College of
Engineering Aranmula
2) THM’18: IEDC-PEC partnered with IEEE Student Chapter of PEC in Organising the Travancore
Hub Meet 2018, a residential Tech camp at our Campus on 5th to 7th October 2018. IEDC
associated for conducting 4 Technical Workshops
3) A 1 day Entrepreneurship Orientation Program “How to Start-Up” Organised by IEDC in
association with District Industries Center on 27 October 2018. Trainer - Mr. Sonu S J, CEO of
the Start-up Starting Trouble.
4) 2 day Workshop on “Sensor Guided Robotics”: IEDC in association with Dept of ECE organised
a Robotics Workshop on 27 & 28 October 2018. Training and certification done by SkyfiLabs.
5) IoT Challenge 2019: Zonal workshop and Prelims competition of National level IoT Challenge
2019 (finale to be held on 17 March 2019) hosted by IIT Bombay in association with i3Indya
Technologies was organized in PEC by IEDC. 80 students from 10 different colleges attended
and 5 teams got selected to the next round.
6) IEDC Summit Branding Installation Challenge, Theme: Rebuild Kerala through Technology

8. A 2 day Workshop cum Innovation & Entrepreneurship orientation program for 1st
year students – “M3 – Motivate, Mesmerize, Machinate” was organized by IEDC on
18-19July 2018 by OFB (Out oF Box), Start-Up from College of Engineering Aranmula

10.  IEDC PEC conducted a 2-day IEDC Orientation program on 18th & 19th July 2018 for the
first year students of the college. The workshop sessions were handled by Mr. Sabarinath
K, CEO of the Start-Up – OFB (Out oF Box), Mr. Akshay Kumar C, CTO of the Start-Up –
OFB (Out oF Box), Mr. Arjun C P, COO of the Start-Up – OFB (Out oF Box). The workshop
was inaugurated by Dr. Ananda Resmi, Principal – CE Pathanapuram, and presided by
Sreesh P S, Nodal Officer – IEDC (KSUM).
 Students were introduced to the IEDC and its activities. Various concepts of the
Innovation, Ideation and Start-Up were introduced to students through various individual
and team activities. The activities helped students to re-invent themselves on a creative
perspective.
 A Marketing game was also conducted to impart a better team work and enhance the
pitching and communication skills of students

One day Entrepreneurial Orientation Workshop
“How to Start-Up”

13.  IEDC PEC in association with the District Industries Centre, conducted an Entrepreneurial
Orientation workshop on 27th October 2018 for the first and second year students of the
college. The workshop sessions were handled by Mr. Sonu S J, CEO of the Startup - Starting
Trouble. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Sreesh P S, Nodal Officer – IEDC (KSUM). The
session 1 started with the inauguration function followed by an orientation session on
“Innovation and You”. Ideation and brainstorming sessions were started with the team
formation. 8 Teams were formed from the 59 students attended the workshop. Team members
undergone various mentored sessions on brainstorming, ideation, presentation preparation etc.
Mentor gave instructions and support throughout all the sessions.
 In between the various activities the trainer shared various entrepreneurship success stories
which motivated and helped the students to understand the various hurdles and barriers in the
initial phase of an entrepreneurial venture as well as gave them a confidence to face such
challenges. The session 3 was idea pitching. Students enjoyed sessions and the whole
programme gave them an insight to innovation and ideation process, the journey of an
entrepreneur in initial stages, how to start with an idea towards a successful venture and the
relevance of idea pitching.

2 day Workshop
“Sensor Guided Robotics ”
ECE Department of College of Engineering Pathanapuram organized a two day workshop
on Sensor Guided Robotics on October 26-27, 2018 in association with IEDC. The workshop
was focussed on the Semester V and Semester VII BTech. students of all Engineering
branches of Kerala Technological University. The objective of the workshop was to equip
the students with the essential tools for designing and building Robotics based projects as
part of their semester 5 Design Project and Final year project. The workshop was
conducted by Skyfi labs and all participants were issued certificates by them. Take way
kits were provided to the teams

 IEDC of College of Engineering Pathanapuram (PEC) was one of the Zonal center of
National level IoT Challenge 2019.
 About IoT Challenge 2019: IoT Challenge 2019 is a National level Event based on
IoT ( Internet of Things), the finale round of which will be held at RADIANCE 2019
@ IIT Bombay on 17th March 2019 with prize money worth 1 Lakh. It's a 3 stage
event. Before the finale round of IoT Challenge 2019, it's Prelims Round will be
conducted at different Zonal Centers across India. The prelims consists of a 2 day
workshop and a product idea development based on that.
 As the Zonal center, IEDC - PEC is organized the 2 day Workshop on IoT and
prelims round for IoT challenge 2019 in association with Radiance @ IIT Bombay
and i3indya Technologies on 10th & 11th November 2018. 5 teams were selected
(one from our college) from this zonal center to compete at IIT Bombay in the
finale of IoT Challenge 2019.
 Out of the 83 participants, 49 participants were from various Colleges Like CE
Perumon, CE Aranmula, CEM Punnapra, CE Muttathara, CE Kidangoor, CE
Karunagappally, CE Adoor, CE Kalluppara, SJCET Palai, John Cox Trivandrum etc

Branding Installation Challenge with Theme: Rebuild Kerala through Technology
Innovation was conducted as a promotional contest for IEDC Summit 2018 by the
KSUM. We had a theme installation to motivate people to donate to rebuild Kerala

IEDC PEC Innovation Loan Scheme: This years Innovation Loan was given to the
startup ABEYANTRIX, founded by Arun Dev & Adithyan P Lal of S5 CSE. The
proposal submitted by the team is scrutinised and validated by a technical team
lead by Mr.Anas S R, and based on that the Loan was sanctioned. Cheque was
presented to the founders by Dr. Ananda Resmi, Principal – PEC.

24. Participated Events/Programs/Schemes
 16 students including the IEDC Student representatives along with the Nodal Officer
Participated in the IEDC Summit 2018 and the Meker Fest held at Amal Jyothi College of
Engineering on 3rd Nov 2018.
 Nodal Officer Participated in the No Sleep Nodal Officer’s Night Meeting of IEDC Nodal
Officers at MBC College of Engineering Peermede on 2nd Nov 2018
 2 students participated in the Inspiria – The Innovation fest conducted by IEDC MES

 1 Student Participated in the Innovation Workshop Conducted by OFB at IEDC Sree Budha
College of Engineering Elavumthitta
 3 student teams applied for the Idea Grant from KSUM through the IDEA FEST 2019.
 Applied for the ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), First stage of
application submitted, last date for uploading documents is 15th Jan 2019.

 Secured first prize in the Branding Challenge in association
with the IEDC Summit 2018. Nodal Officer – Mr. Sreesh P S
received the certificate from Dr. Saji Gopinath, CEO-KSUM,

 One team from our college (Jerin – S7 CSE & Renjith – S7 CSE)
got selected to Final round of IoT Challenge 2019 to be held
