Al-Jaleel means the Majestic One, the Noble, the Owner of Jalāl (Glory and Majesty).

Al-Jaleel means the Majestic One, the Noble, the Owner of Jalāl
(Glory and Majesty). The Name Al-Jaleelis not mentioned in the
Qur'an nor in the Sunnah;however,the name Thul-Jalāl (Owner
of Majesty) is mentioned in the Qur'an. Allaah ‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬‫و‬‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬says in
Surat Ar-Rahmaan (55) Ayat 26-27: "Whatsoever is on it [the
earth] will perish. And the Face of your Lord Full of Majesty and
Honor will abide forever ".

And also, in Soorat Ar-Rahmaan (55) Ayah 78: "Blessed be the
Name of your Lord [Allaah], the Owner of Majesty .

Ibn Al-Qayyim acknowledged this name for Allaah ‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬ ‫و‬‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬ in
his poem, which states: "He is Al-Jaleel (the Majestic), and all
of the attributes of Jalāl (Majesty) certainly belong to Him."

4. Az-Zajjājī says, "Al-Jalāl means glory and greatness, and to
Allaah belong all glory and majesty." In addition, Ibn Manzūr
said, "Allaah is Al-Jaleel )‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬‫و‬ ‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬( and the Owner of Jalāl
(Glory and Majesty) and Honor. The attribute of Jalāl (Majesty)
cannot be used as an attribute or quality save Allaah. Al-Jaleel
(the Majestic) is an attribute of Allaah )‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬‫و‬‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬(
. He is Absolute
Owner of Majesty and Glory. This is due to the fact that all of
the Attributes of Allaah are perfect and absolute." [Lisān al-
'Arab: 1/487]
The Messenger of Allaah (
‫ﷺ‬
) ordered us to repeatedly call
upon Allaah‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬‫و‬‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬by saying: "O' the Owner of Majesty and
Honor".

5. After saying his prayer, the Messenger of Allaah (
‫ﷺ‬
) used to
ask Allaah ‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ا‬‫ع‬‫ت‬‫و‬ ‫ه‬‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ح‬‫ب‬‫س‬ for forgiveness three times and say, "O'
Allaah! You are Peace and from You comes peace. May You be
the Blessed and Glorified.
