Thought this may be an exciting way to get some of the media terminology understood by AS and A2 Level students. Features a few examples.

1. Media analysis quiz

2. Displays the setting of a scene; showing where and
when the film is set.

3. A camera angle which is deliberately slanted to one side, sometimes used
for dramatic effect to help portray unease, disorientation, madness e.t.c.

4. Sound that continues from one scene to another.

5. A technique created by only using the key and back lights and produces sharp contrasts
between light and dark areas where deep and distinct shadows are formed.

6. A movement that scans a scene horizontally.

7. A cut from one shot to another view that matches the first shot's action. A common
example is a man walking up to a door and reaching for the door handle.

8. When the character(s) speak directly to the audience.

9. A shot following the character or object (usually in a straight line).

10. When the audience should not be able to see when the cuts in the text have been
made. The series of shots that appear together and link together.
