My Favorite Book Analysis
Down By The Station: Down by the station was my favorite book when I was little. This is mostly because of the song my mom sang with the
pictures. The other part that would be entertaining to a kid is the bright colorful pictures of the baby animals going down, one by one down by the
station
Inch By Inch: Like Down by the Station, it had a song that went with it, that I can still remember to this day. For a while this was my bedtime story
every single night because I loved it so much.
The Purple Pebble: In this wonderful book, it was all neutral or gray colors, except for the purple pebble. As a kid this was the most interesting part of
the book to follow, instead of the actual plot line.
King Bidgood: The illustrations were always packed with so much detail, so that every time I had it read to me, I looked for something new. My mom
always had to wait five minutes to flip the page, because I wanted to focus on everything in the picture.
Are You My Mother?: A key thing I liked as a child was pictures and songs. In, Are You My Mother, it had simplistic drawings but bright colors.
Something a four year old me loved!
Green Eggs And Ham: Dr.Seuss, a classic to all. Something all kidslove, because of the bright colors and very, out there drawings. My favorite part of
all of it were the rhymes. I was a very simple minded child.
The Little House: I did really love the drawings as a child, but for The Little House, one of the best parts to me, was the transformation the little

My Favorite Works Of Literature
Throughout the semester, I have read various works of literature. Nowadays, there are millions of books available; however, only a couple that can
influence and develop our perspective on politics, religion, friendship, and love. Several works can even become a source of inspiration and
encouragement. Colloquially speaking, classical literature was quite captivating. It was generally referring to the literature of ancient Greece and
displayed Greek's civilization since ancient Greece was known as the cradle of Europe. Antigone for instance enlightened us that wisdom and piety
toward gods is what you need; furthermore, Gilgamesh explicated that greatness of civilization creates mortality of kings and death is inevitable.
However, from the several books I have read, I have decided to share my favorite work of literature which is Lord of the flies.
The lord of the flies did not disappoint me at the respect that I am huge fan of allegorical stories. Each event in the story has an allegorical message;
however, lord of the flies is peculiar since that it can be interpreted in several ways. For instance, it can be depicted as an allegory about civilization vs
savagery, world war or human psychology. One of the substantial contributing factors to read lord of the flies is that it is timeless and as closely
connected today as it was years ago. Although, the book was written in 1954, the age is certainly not felt because of the modern techniques utilized by
William Golding. In

Literature : My Favorite Book
When I was a child, my dad read to my sister and I on a regular basis. While we were young, he read fun kid's books, but as we got older he began to
read us more thought provoking things like a Christian novel, The Bronze Bow. My experience as a reader has been one with a fair bit of variety.
The book, Jason and the Gorgon's Blood, was really what got me into reading. Having always been fascinated with Greek Mythology, I think it was
the perfect gateway drug, so to speak. As time went on and I matured, I began reading things like Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, the second of which is
my favorite book. Other than books, my reading has consisted of various magazines that follow my interests and hobbies and some news articles
here and there. I have listened to audiobooks before and enjoyed them, but I prefer reading a physical book. I find my mind wanders less when I
have the words right in front of me, and it also gives me more time to process what's being said by the author when I have control over the reading.
What I learned in terms of reading and text–comprehension was from the book, The Well Educated Mind, by Susan Wise Bauer. In it she teaches
students to write down a sentence or two after each chapter of a new book to construct a broad outline. She also teaches how to ask questions like,
"Why did the author write this book?" and "How well did they succeed?" In past school–work I began to skim read texts and as I got older I slipped
into lazy mindedness. If I wasn't

My Favorite Hobby Of Reading
I am an avid reader and reading has been my favorite hobby for a great deal of my life. This is probably because my parents value literacy and they
have almost always encouraged me to read. The exceptions being when I am supposed to be doing something else, such as completing homework
or sleeping. When I was young, they read all sorts of picture books to me, especially those by Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle. When my father read Green
Eggs and Ham to me, he altered the words when he read it to me, replacing "I do not like that Sam–I–am" with "I do love that Sam–I–am." Later, when
I was in first grade, I read Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark while on an indoor break. I found it on a bookshelf and decided to read it,
which took me a while since it was the first non–picture book that I had read on my own. But I eventually managed to finish it and I felt really proud
of myself. I enjoyed the book and the magic involved fascinated me. I later read a couple more Magic Tree House books from the shelf and asked my
parents to get the first twenty–eight when we saw them on sale at BJs (the series started in 1992 and they were selling fourteen–book boxed sets). The
Magic Tree House series introduced me to the concept of magic, the impossible kind that is not just a trick. As the first proper fantasy book that I
ever read, Dinosaurs Before Dark opened the gateway to the fantasy genre for me. After I read it, my parents saw my interest in fantasy novels and
introduced me to the Harry

What is your favourite book or piece of music and why? (300 words maximum) *
My favourite book is Three Seconds written by the Swedish crime duo Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström. This is because is the novel
grasps your attention from the beginning to the end, and I believe that as an Equity Researcher this is what needs to occur in the reports in addition
to when speaking with clients and the sales team. I enjoyed reading every page. A book that narrates to what means a husband and father is
supposed to go for what he believes is right and especially to protect his loved one. Moreover, it depicts how a man, left on his own, abandoned to his
fate with will and persistence can make the most of a situation that many may classify as doomed. The book illustrates also how someone can change
over time. Piet Hoffman is an ex–con who currently works for the Swedish police as an infiltrator to uncover Polish gangsters, putting himself in
danger to get to the bottom of their organised crime. Related to business terms, this can be seen with the revamping of companies that are in distress,
but that with a second opportunity can prosper. An example that comes to my mind is with the luxury fashionwear brand Moncler. Once, on the edge
of bankruptcy and now one of the most iconic brands with a market capitalisation of approximately 6.16 billion euros.
Aside from any family members, describe a person or an experience in your life that has inspired you. How have you acted on that inspiration? (300

A person that has inspired me is Alessandro Del Piero, he is my idol. My immense passion for Football arose when as a young kid I saw him play. As
the years passed he has not only been a role model on the football pitch but also and especially outside of it. His loyalty and dedication are the traits
that I admire the most. In 2006 after winning the World Cup with Italy he had to decide if to go play for the best teams in the world or continue
playing for his childhood club, the team that made him become the player that everyone admired. It was a no–brainer for him, as he stated that "A true
gentleman never leaves his lady". In a period of crisis, of restructuring, the main player decided that loyalty and

I fell in love with books when I was probably about two. No matter where I would go, I would always bring a book along with me to read. I remember
sitting at hockey games with my mom and my dad, not even glancing at the game because I was too busy trying to read my books. My favorite book
as a young child was called 'Commotion in the Ocean'. I most likely was drawn to the book because of the vibrant illustrations, but the short stories in
the book were what made me love it. I would ask my mom or my dad to read it to me on a nightly basis, and even though I'm sure they eventually got
sick of it, but they would continue to read it to me. To this day, I still own the book. When I was in elementary school, I was labeled as a "very
advanced reader". I was put four or five grade levels ahead for reading, and I read at college level in second grade. This is why I chose to read Harper
Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' as an 8–year–old. Since I was only 8, I didn't completely understand the themes of the book and some events that
occurred in it. My mom, who also loves the book, would help me discuss it after I would finish a chapter. I'm sure I still didn't fully comprehend it,
but I continued reading it and eventually loved it. Every few years or so, I enjoy re–reading it just to enjoy it all over again. In sixth grade, I began to
love books that belonged to a series, so that when I finished one book, I knew right away which book I should pick up and read next. My mom

Counter Culturist Literature Lovers Essay Scholarship It was rather hard to determine my favorite book, which changed my life, because in some
way each book I have read has given me a new perspective on life as well as taught me life lessons. If I had to choose one book though it would be
A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce, it is a retelling of the old age tale of Rumpelstiltskin during the Industrial Revolution focusing on a
Wooden Mill. There were so many life lessons reinforced and relearned. Not to mention I could relate with the main character, Charlotte Stirwater, a
stubborn, independent, hardworking woman, who looks at the world realistically and logically. Besides her character being relatable, unfortunately
I also related to the villain Jack Spinner/Rumpelstiltskin as well. He was just a lost soul looking for justice for his son's death, and that obsession
and hate consumed until he was no longer the same man he was before he died. The themes/lessons in the book that influenced me were: 1.Revenge
& hate is all consuming 2.Life is full of bumps in the road 3.Sometimes it is okay to ask for help 4.There is no need to shoulder the whole world with
family and friends willing to help 5.Not everyone/everything is savable Revenge & Hate is All Consuming When all that negative emotion is bottled
up in one person it does horrible things. It consumes them makes their only purpose in life geared towards ruining or destroying that one obsession.

My Favorite Book Essay
Dear R. J. Palacio,
I have read your book Wonder many times, and with each of those times my perspective changed. The first time, I liked it. The second time, I liked it
much more because my world changed. The third time, Wonder became my favorite book because my world changed forever.
My mom bought Wonder because it was on my brother Jake's 5th–grade summer reading list. I was in the 3rd–grade the first time I read Wonder, and I
read it to challenge myself. I liked your book because it reminded me to be nice to other people, but it didn't make a huge impact on me personally.
When I finished it, I never thought that it would change my view of the world. I thought that if I ever went to school with people like Auggie, I would
hope that I would give them a chance, but to be honest, I probably wouldn't. I would probably be like Charlotte who is nice and says hi to Auggie, but
doesn't hang out with him. She's a goody two–shoes, so she is kind, but they aren't really friends. I put the book back on my bookshelf and was happy
that I read a 5th–grade book, but I didn't think more about it.
Remember how I told you that my world changed? After I read your book the first time, my older brother Jake was diagnosed with a rare
chromosomal disorder called Friedreich Ataxia (FA).
FA makes your nerve cells die so you can't walk and eventually you need a wheelchair. Because I love to read, I was looking for a book where the
characters felt how I felt, so I re–read Wonder because now Via

My Favourite Book Is My Favorite Book
Knowing a person's favorite book could give some insight into who they are and what they are like. For example, knowing that a person's favorite
book is The Art of War by Sun Tzu could mean that the person is competitive or aggressive. A reader's favorite book can range from many different
time periods in their life, as well as, many different genres. Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, a book I read in my teenage years, is my favorite
books. This is my favorite book due to the many different meaningful quotes used, the insanity of the main character, and the theme of the protection
of innocence. A quotation is a way the author addresses a topic without directly saying what he or she means. In Catcher in the Rye, Salinger uses
many different meaningful quotations that influence readers to stop and think. For example, in chapter 12, the main character states, "People always
clap for the wrong things." Humans live in a "monkey see monkey do" world, which means that if one person does something everyone is going to try
to do the same thing, no matter if the thing is good or bad. Salinger included the quote about clapping for the wrong things to open society's eyes and
help people realize that maybe they do things not because they enjoy them, but because they see other people do them. Another meaningful quotation
comes from chapter 24. The quote states, "The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause while the mark of the mature man is
that he wants to

My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. It marked the start of an amazing series, just as it marked the beginning
of a little girl's passion that would remain for years to come. These books helped and consoled me through the toughest time of my life, fighting off
my demons much like a patronus does a dementor. Reading of Harry's triumphs in the late hours of the night saved me many tears, providing a
happy escape from my miserable life. Art has always served as an escape, whether one is making or appreciating it. It allows them to take their mind

Because of this, one begins to see the humanity inside these books and then connect that humanity to the world. One starts to recognize that there are
Dolores Umbridges in the world, there are Voldemorts in the world, there are Albus Dumbledores in the world, and there are Harry Potters in the
world. Many works of art are made in the image of the world, to reflect the good and the bad. These works of art can connect us to the world. For
example, 400 million Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide, in over 200 territories, and in 68 languages, which means that somewhere halfway
across the world, I share a connection with someone, not through language, religion, or race, but through art. Hence, "one cannot bind oneself to [the
world] more certainly than through art."
What Johann Wolfgang von Goethe has stated is not, in fact, paradoxical, for individually, art is an escape from the world, but looking at the world
as a whole, art provides connections that language or diplomacy never could. My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K.

My Favorite Book Of All Time
That Was Then, This Is Now is my favorite book of all time. I remember walking into Mr. Kirby 's class for the very first time. I was not thrilled at all. .
All I could think of was me failing my English 1 class. I by no means am the type of person who likes reading books, but with this being my third year
in High School; I have learned to enjoy every little bit of it. Believe me when I say the time the book is better than the movie 99.9% of the time.
I read this so long ago I don't remember everything that happened throughout very clearly. All I know is that it left me feeling strange and not a good
kind of strange... More like an emotional kind of strange. I admit to coming loose over this book. I realize that books that engage such emotions are
usually pleasant books. The feeling of this book wasn't life sucks. The feeling is that there are struggles and hard decisions in life, but friends come and
go depending on your choice of action. The ending was so tragic and heart breaking. The author really did destroy the best character in the book. A
lot of people dislike this book for many different reasons, but stuff like this happens every day! The characters are very well developed making you
feel everything they do, which I don't always possible with short books, but is very well achieved here.
This book is about a guy named Bryon. He lives with his mom and best friend Mark. Mark lives with him because of his parents died. Mark and Bryon
have been best friend's way before

My favorite book is the Holy Bible, I chose this book because is an inspiration for me, I like this book because it has proved an influence point in
my life. I have learnt a lot from this great book. It remains one of the most precious treasures of mankind. It makes a very good reading. Every
sentence of this book has a touch of sincerity. It is written in a simple but effective style. It is worth reading.
The Holy Bible has really taught me how to lead a life given to Jesus, and he has shown me through his word his compassion, his love, his mercy that
are great every day, his patience and forgiveness that although we don't deserve them, he grant us.

God has treated us with dignity by giving us free will, the power to make our own decisions. Neither he nor fate controls our life. The Bible supports
that, Deuteronomy 30:19) "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before your life and death, blessings and
curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live."
But nevertheless we humans take advantage of the free will, which God has given us, to be the evil as this specified. (Isaiah 30:1) "Woe to the
rebellious children," declares the LORD, "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin.
However, even God shows us his compassion and forgives us for all our sins, that is why he does not want any of us to be lose, that he loves us so
much that he was able to send his only son to earth to come and save us as. He emphasize in the bible. (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
When we understand that God has a plan for us, when we decide to give Him control of our lives, then it makes sense that he does not want anyone to
perish, but that all to be saved. But I understand that, many will probably disagree on this statement and there will be people that won't believe that
God exists, that he is the real one and it won't change his heart, that perverse Heart, which does not let them

My Favorite Class Essay
My favorite classes this year were Mrs. Menzel's two english classes. I have learned so much about myself as a reader, student, and an intellectual.
Through both of her classes, we were given endless amounts of opportunity. What I mean by this is, we got to choose our own topics to study,
books to read, and subjects to write about. We were truly treated like adults, which in my eyes, helped prepare us for the "real world". Her
willingness to let us grow as individuals was very inspiring, because she believed that we could do it on our own, with a little push whenever we
needed it. I have gotten the chance to discover that I actually enjoy reading! Specifically, I discovered that Jodi Picoult might be my favorite author
as of now. Also, I realized that writing is one of my favorite things to do, it is a passion of mine and I hope I can continue it somehow with the career
that I choose.
Personally, her two classes have helped me grow as a speaker, writer, and reader. In her CCC class, I was able to write a profile on my dad, which
really strengthened my relationship with him. After printing him a copy, and seeing tears in his eyes made me very grateful for this experience to
share with him how much of a role model he is to me. In her English Lit class, I was able to ask my grandma and mom what books they would
recommend for me. Having these conversations with them made their hearts warm, since I was showing interest in books for once (they are both
book lovers). Her class pushed me to be the best that I can, and it wasn't for the grade that I got. It was for learning about myself, and what I was
capable of. That's when I learned that her classes are actually changing me as a student. For an example, when I was working on a project, I wasn't
basing every single sentence on what the rubric told me to do. I was branching out and working on it because I truly wanted to learn more about the
topic and put my all into it.
Thankfully, I have matured a great amount as a student because of Mrs. Menzel and her life lessons through teaching, and by just being herself. I
truly feel ready for college now because of Mrs. Menzel, and I am grateful for that. This year, I changed my intended major from Business to Education,

It's hard to imagine our lives without books. We learn a lot of interesting things when we read books. Books are our great friend, teachers and
advisers. They teach us how to take the next step when we are in a difficult situation. They help to shape our life. It is impossible to become an
educated person without books. Besides, books play an important role in upbringing our feelings, views and tastes; give us a lot of useful
information. Frankly speaking I'm not a bookworm but when I have spare time I read books with great pleasure. It seems to me that books are a

Most teenagers have different opinions on reading. As for me, I think reading is very important, because books help to discover new things, to learn
more about life. Also books tell us about lives of famous people and other interesting things.
The book I`m reading now is "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. Stephanie Meyer is a modern American writer. She was born in 1973 in Hartford,

My favorite book is called The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn and it was written by Mark Twain. The book is about a thirteen–year–old boy called

sister, Miss Watson, wanted to take care of Huck and civilize him, but later, Huck sneaks out of the house at night and joinsTom Sawyer's gang. Later in
the story, Huck quits the gang because the adventures were illusory and also his dad, Pap, comes to the town and steals Huck from the Widow

death and escapes down the Mississippi, landing on Jackson's island. There, he stumbles across Miss Watson's slave, Jim, who has run away for
fear he will be sold down the river. Huck soon learns that men are coming to the island, so he informs Jim that they were gonna leave the island
and travel down the Mississippi. From here on out, Huck and Jim experience a number of adventures, they encounter a band of robbers aboard a

free is when they are aboard the raft. This freedom and tranquility are soon shattered by the arrival of the duke and the king. They weren't actually a

I have read a number of books in English and Hindi. Most of them have been to my liking and I have spent many an hour reading them. But one which
has pleased me most is Munshi Prem Chand's 'Godaan'.
'Godaan', is Prem Chand's master–piece and ranks very high in the world of fiction. The book portrays the life of the poor villagers – Hari, Dhania and

I Read My Favorite Book
When I was a child, my favorite book was Grover's Book of Little Cute Baby Animals. I would ask my mother if she could read it to me every day.
My parents thought that I enjoyed the book because I liked to read, but the real reason was that I adored the baby animals. Reading the book was
tedious to me, but I loved looking at the pictures. All through elementary school and junior high, reading and writing were never my favorite subjects. I
have always felt forced to read and write by my teachers, but I have never enjoyed them, because I have felt that the quality of my skills are low.
When I was in third grade, my teacher had a reading competition for my class. Whoever read the most books and had the most Accelerated Reader
points would win a trophy at the end of the year. Participation in the reading contest was mandatory. Whenever my teacher told me to read, I would
read. I did not enjoyed it, but I would still do it simply because my teacher told me to. However, I wanted to win that competition more than
anything. I wanted my fellow classmates to think that I was smart, because I didn't think that I was. I believed that if my teacher and other
students thought that I was an excellent reader, I would believe it as well. When I won that competition in May, everyone was cheering for me,
and I finally felt like I was adequate at reading. Unfortunately, that feeling did not last very long. By the next year, I again felt that I was not
sufficient enough at reading to be successful in the classroom. In seventh grade, I had an English teacher, Mrs. Putnam, who made me more
insecure about my reading and writing abilities than anyone ever had before. It was my very first GATE class, and I was determined to do well.
Therefore, whenever Mrs. Putnam told me to read or write, I would do it with my one hundred percent effort, even though I hated doing either of
them. I soon came to realize that her way of teaching made me extremely unconfident in my reading and writing. I remember one specific conversation
she had with a couple of students in my class and me.
Mrs. Putnam said with anger in her voice, "There is no reason why any of you should not be getting straight A's. Maybe you shouldn't be in GATE, if

My favorite book is The Kite Runner by Khaled Housseini. The Kite Runner is the story of two boys, Amir and Hassan in Afghanistan as the country is
sent into increasing turmoil by a plethora of political events, ranging from the fall of the monarchy, the takeover of the Soviet Union, the ensuing war
between Afghanistan and the Soviet Union, and the rise of the Taliban. Amir is the son of a wealthy man, Baba and is a part of the ethno–religious
majority; Hassan is the son of Amir's father's servant, and is a part of the ethno–religious minority. Their friendship is imperfect and often one–sided,
with Hassan repeatedly defending and fighting for Amir, who not only fails to do the same, but also resents Hassan for issues in his own life,
including his strained relationship with his father. Amir's cowardice and struggles as a friend are highlighted when he fails to intervene as his friend
is raped by Assef, an older, wealthy boy with Nazi sympathies. Eventually, Amir comes to feel deep guilt regarding his imperfect friendship with
Hassan, and through this guilt he pushes Hassan away. However, even when Hassan is gone, and even when Amir and his father are forced to flee to the
United States as refugees, the guilt of how he failed his friend still plagues him. He does, however, get the opportunity to redeem himself and to help

My Favorite Book Analysis

  • 1. My Favorite Book Analysis Down By The Station: Down by the station was my favorite book when I was little. This is mostly because of the song my mom sang with the pictures. The other part that would be entertaining to a kid is the bright colorful pictures of the baby animals going down, one by one down by the station Inch By Inch: Like Down by the Station, it had a song that went with it, that I can still remember to this day. For a while this was my bedtime story every single night because I loved it so much. The Purple Pebble: In this wonderful book, it was all neutral or gray colors, except for the purple pebble. As a kid this was the most interesting part of the book to follow, instead of the actual plot line. King Bidgood: The illustrations were always packed with so much detail, so that every time I had it read to me, I looked for something new. My mom always had to wait five minutes to flip the page, because I wanted to focus on everything in the picture. My favorite part of all of it were the rhymes. I was a very simple minded child. The Little House: I did really love the drawings as a child, but for The Little House, one of the best parts to me, was the transformation the little Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Favorite Works Of Literature Throughout the semester, I have read various works of literature. Nowadays, there are millions of books available; however, only a couple that can influence and develop our perspective on politics, religion, friendship, and love. Several works can even become a source of inspiration and encouragement. Colloquially speaking, classical literature was quite captivating. It was generally referring to the literature of ancient Greece and displayed Greek's civilization since ancient Greece was known as the cradle of Europe. Antigone for instance enlightened us that wisdom and piety toward gods is what you need; furthermore, Gilgamesh explicated that greatness of civilization creates mortality of kings and death is inevitable. However, from the several books I have read, I have decided to share my favorite work of literature which is Lord of the flies. The lord of the flies did not disappoint me at the respect that I am huge fan of allegorical stories. Each event in the story has an allegorical message; however, lord of the flies is peculiar since that it can be interpreted in several ways. For instance, it can be depicted as an allegory about civilization vs savagery, world war or human psychology. One of the substantial contributing factors to read lord of the flies is that it is timeless and as closely connected today as it was years ago. Although, the book was written in 1954, the age is certainly not felt because of the modern techniques utilized by William Golding. In Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Literature : My Favorite Book When I was a child, my dad read to my sister and I on a regular basis. While we were young, he read fun kid's books, but as we got older he began to read us more thought provoking things like a Christian novel, The Bronze Bow. My experience as a reader has been one with a fair bit of variety. The book, Jason and the Gorgon's Blood, was really what got me into reading. Having always been fascinated with Greek Mythology, I think it was the perfect gateway drug, so to speak. As time went on and I matured, I began reading things like Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, the second of which is my favorite book. Other than books, my reading has consisted of various magazines that follow my interests and hobbies and some news articles here and there. I have listened to audiobooks before and enjoyed them, but I prefer reading a physical book. I find my mind wanders less when I have the words right in front of me, and it also gives me more time to process what's being said by the author when I have control over the reading. What I learned in terms of reading and text–comprehension was from the book, The Well Educated Mind, by Susan Wise Bauer. In it she teaches students to write down a sentence or two after each chapter of a new book to construct a broad outline. She also teaches how to ask questions like, "Why did the author write this book?" and "How well did they succeed?" In past school–work I began to skim read texts and as I got older I slipped into lazy mindedness. If I wasn't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Favorite Hobby Of Reading I am an avid reader and reading has been my favorite hobby for a great deal of my life. This is probably because my parents value literacy and they have almost always encouraged me to read. The exceptions being when I am supposed to be doing something else, such as completing homework or sleeping. When I was young, they read all sorts of picture books to me, especially those by Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle. When my father read Green Eggs and Ham to me, he altered the words when he read it to me, replacing "I do not like that Sam–I–am" with "I do love that Sam–I–am." Later, when I was in first grade, I read Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark while on an indoor break. I found it on a bookshelf and decided to read it, which took me a while since it was the first non–picture book that I had read on my own. But I eventually managed to finish it and I felt really proud of myself. I enjoyed the book and the magic involved fascinated me. I later read a couple more Magic Tree House books from the shelf and asked my parents to get the first twenty–eight when we saw them on sale at BJs (the series started in 1992 and they were selling fourteen–book boxed sets). The Magic Tree House series introduced me to the concept of magic, the impossible kind that is not just a trick. As the first proper fantasy book that I ever read, Dinosaurs Before Dark opened the gateway to the fantasy genre for me. After I read it, my parents saw my interest in fantasy novels and introduced me to the Harry Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Favourite Book : My Favorite Book What is your favourite book or piece of music and why? (300 words maximum) * My favourite book is Three Seconds written by the Swedish crime duo Anders Roslund and BГ¶rge HellstrГ¶m. This is because is the novel grasps your attention from the beginning to the end, and I believe that as an Equity Researcher this is what needs to occur in the reports in addition to when speaking with clients and the sales team. I enjoyed reading every page. A book that narrates to what means a husband and father is supposed to go for what he believes is right and especially to protect his loved one. Moreover, it depicts how a man, left on his own, abandoned to his fate with will and persistence can make the most of a situation that many may classify as doomed. The book illustrates also how someone can change over time. Piet Hoffman is an ex–con who currently works for the Swedish police as an infiltrator to uncover Polish gangsters, putting himself in danger to get to the bottom of their organised crime. Related to business terms, this can be seen with the revamping of companies that are in distress, but that with a second opportunity can prosper. An example that comes to my mind is with the luxury fashionwear brand Moncler. Once, on the edge of bankruptcy and now one of the most iconic brands with a market capitalisation of approximately 6.16 billion euros. Aside from any family members, describe a person or an experience in your life that has inspired you. How have you acted on that inspiration? (300 words maximum) * A person that has inspired me is Alessandro Del Piero, he is my idol. My immense passion for Football arose when as a young kid I saw him play. As the years passed he has not only been a role model on the football pitch but also and especially outside of it. His loyalty and dedication are the traits that I admire the most. In 2006 after winning the World Cup with Italy he had to decide if to go play for the best teams in the world or continue playing for his childhood club, the team that made him become the player that everyone admired. It was a no–brainer for him, as he stated that "A true gentleman never leaves his lady". In a period of crisis, of restructuring, the main player decided that loyalty and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Favorite Book I fell in love with books when I was probably about two. No matter where I would go, I would always bring a book along with me to read. I remember sitting at hockey games with my mom and my dad, not even glancing at the game because I was too busy trying to read my books. My favorite book as a young child was called 'Commotion in the Ocean'. I most likely was drawn to the book because of the vibrant illustrations, but the short stories in the book were what made me love it. I would ask my mom or my dad to read it to me on a nightly basis, and even though I'm sure they eventually got sick of it, but they would continue to read it to me. To this day, I still own the book. When I was in elementary school, I was labeled as a "very advanced reader". I was put four or five grade levels ahead for reading, and I read at college level in second grade. This is why I chose to read Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' as an 8–year–old. Since I was only 8, I didn't completely understand the themes of the book and some events that occurred in it. My mom, who also loves the book, would help me discuss it after I would finish a chapter. I'm sure I still didn't fully comprehend it, but I continued reading it and eventually loved it. Every few years or so, I enjoy re–reading it just to enjoy it all over again. In sixth grade, I began to love books that belonged to a series, so that when I finished one book, I knew right away which book I should pick up and read next. My mom suggested the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Favorite Genre : The Importance Of Books Aw books, a way to explore beyond the textbooks, tests, quizzes, homework and school itself. When kids get books they want to read then right away and let me tell you the is a great choice.Books come in different shapes, colors, genres, fonts and so on.Author's have different styles on how the create each book and that is what makes each author and book special. So remember when you go to a public library so please remember the author did not have to spend hours on the book to hear you criticize them.Books are the key to success but when you get a book ask yourself is this my favorite genre ?Is this book relaxing?Last but not least, does this book have educational value for collage? If you answered yes to all these questions then you are on a right path to greatness someday. For starters, there are so many different genres I do not have enough fingers to count them all.My favorite genres are romance, horror, and action packed adventurers so now you know mine what are you favorite genres?Knowing what your favorite genre is it becomes helpful when it comes to choosing a book. When you know what your favorite genre is it becomes a whole lot easier when getting a book because people choose quickly only because they do not know their favorite genre. Some people grab–in–go only they have no clue on what they are about to experience. When you take the time to choose a good book that lets you know what you like and dislike. When you ask people what is their favorite genre they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Favorite Book Counter Culturist Literature Lovers Essay Scholarship It was rather hard to determine my favorite book, which changed my life, because in some way each book I have read has given me a new perspective on life as well as taught me life lessons. If I had to choose one book though it would be A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce, it is a retelling of the old age tale of Rumpelstiltskin during the Industrial Revolution focusing on a Wooden Mill. There were so many life lessons reinforced and relearned. Not to mention I could relate with the main character, Charlotte Stirwater, a stubborn, independent, hardworking woman, who looks at the world realistically and logically. Besides her character being relatable, unfortunately I also related to the villain Jack Spinner/Rumpelstiltskin as well. He was just a lost soul looking for justice for his son's death, and that obsession and hate consumed until he was no longer the same man he was before he died. The themes/lessons in the book that influenced me were: 1.Revenge & hate is all consuming 2.Life is full of bumps in the road 3.Sometimes it is okay to ask for help 4.There is no need to shoulder the whole world with family and friends willing to help 5.Not everyone/everything is savable Revenge & Hate is All Consuming When all that negative emotion is bottled up in one person it does horrible things. It consumes them makes their only purpose in life geared towards ruining or destroying that one obsession. The main moment Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Favorite Book Essay Dear R. J. Palacio, I have read your book Wonder many times, and with each of those times my perspective changed. The first time, I liked it. The second time, I liked it much more because my world changed. The third time, Wonder became my favorite book because my world changed forever. My mom bought Wonder because it was on my brother Jake's 5th–grade summer reading list. I was in the 3rd–grade the first time I read Wonder, and I read it to challenge myself. I liked your book because it reminded me to be nice to other people, but it didn't make a huge impact on me personally. When I finished it, I never thought that it would change my view of the world. I thought that if I ever went to school with people like Auggie, I would hope that I would give them a chance, but to be honest, I probably wouldn't. I would probably be like Charlotte who is nice and says hi to Auggie, but doesn't hang out with him. She's a goody two–shoes, so she is kind, but they aren't really friends. I put the book back on my bookshelf and was happy that I read a 5th–grade book, but I didn't think more about it. Remember how I told you that my world changed? After I read your book the first time, my older brother Jake was diagnosed with a rare chromosomal disorder called Friedreich Ataxia (FA). FA makes your nerve cells die so you can't walk and eventually you need a wheelchair. Because I love to read, I was looking for a book where the characters felt how I felt, so I re–read Wonder because now Via Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Favourite Book Is My Favorite Book Knowing a person's favorite book could give some insight into who they are and what they are like. For example, knowing that a person's favorite book is The Art of War by Sun Tzu could mean that the person is competitive or aggressive. A reader's favorite book can range from many different time periods in their life, as well as, many different genres. Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, a book I read in my teenage years, is my favorite books. This is my favorite book due to the many different meaningful quotes used, the insanity of the main character, and the theme of the protection of innocence. A quotation is a way the author addresses a topic without directly saying what he or she means. In Catcher in the Rye, Salinger uses many different meaningful quotations that influence readers to stop and think. For example, in chapter 12, the main character states, "People always clap for the wrong things." Humans live in a "monkey see monkey do" world, which means that if one person does something everyone is going to try to do the same thing, no matter if the thing is good or bad. Salinger included the quote about clapping for the wrong things to open society's eyes and help people realize that maybe they do things not because they enjoy them, but because they see other people do them. Another meaningful quotation comes from chapter 24. The quote states, "The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Favorite Book Essay My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. It marked the start of an amazing series, just as it marked the beginning of a little girl's passion that would remain for years to come. These books helped and consoled me through the toughest time of my life, fighting off my demons much like a patronus does a dementor. Reading of Harry's triumphs in the late hours of the night saved me many tears, providing a happy escape from my miserable life. Art has always served as an escape, whether one is making or appreciating it. It allows them to take their mind off of worries, doubts, frustrations, and completely focus on a task that comes easier to them than their daily life. One starts to recognize that there are Dolores Umbridges in the world, there are Voldemorts in the world, there are Albus Dumbledores in the world, and there are Harry Potters in the world. Many works of art are made in the image of the world, to reflect the good and the bad. These works of art can connect us to the world. For example, 400 million Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide, in over 200 territories, and in 68 languages, which means that somewhere halfway across the world, I share a connection with someone, not through language, religion, or race, but through art. Hence, "one cannot bind oneself to [the world] more certainly than through art." What Johann Wolfgang von Goethe has stated is not, in fact, paradoxical, for individually, art is an escape from the world, but looking at the world as a whole, art provides connections that language or diplomacy never could. My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. • 12. My Favorite Book Of All Time That Was Then, This Is Now is my favorite book of all time. I remember walking into Mr. Kirby 's class for the very first time. I was not thrilled at all. . All I could think of was me failing my English 1 class. I by no means am the type of person who likes reading books, but with this being my third year in High School; I have learned to enjoy every little bit of it. Believe me when I say the time the book is better than the movie 99.9% of the time. I read this so long ago I don't remember everything that happened throughout very clearly. All I know is that it left me feeling strange and not a good kind of strange... More like an emotional kind of strange. I admit to coming loose over this book. I realize that books that engage such emotions are usually pleasant books. The feeling of this book wasn't life sucks. The feeling is that there are struggles and hard decisions in life, but friends come and go depending on your choice of action. The ending was so tragic and heart breaking. The author really did destroy the best character in the book. A lot of people dislike this book for many different reasons, but stuff like this happens every day! The characters are very well developed making you feel everything they do, which I don't always possible with short books, but is very well achieved here. This book is about a guy named Bryon. He lives with his mom and best friend Mark. Mark lives with him because of his parents died. Mark and Bryon have been best friend's way before Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Favorite Book My favorite book is the Holy Bible, I chose this book because is an inspiration for me, I like this book because it has proved an influence point in my life. I have learnt a lot from this great book. It remains one of the most precious treasures of mankind. It makes a very good reading. Every sentence of this book has a touch of sincerity. It is written in a simple but effective style. It is worth reading. The Holy Bible has really taught me how to lead a life given to Jesus, and he has shown me through his word his compassion, his love, his mercy that are great every day, his patience and forgiveness that although we don't deserve them, he grant us. The Holy Bible is not only a book replete with laws and commandments, but also includes...show more content... God has treated us with dignity by giving us free will, the power to make our own decisions. Neither he nor fate controls our life. The Bible supports that, Deuteronomy 30:19) "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before your life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." But nevertheless we humans take advantage of the free will, which God has given us, to be the evil as this specified. (Isaiah 30:1) "Woe to the rebellious children," declares the LORD, "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin. However, even God shows us his compassion and forgives us for all our sins, that is why he does not want any of us to be lose, that he loves us so much that he was able to send his only son to earth to come and save us as. He emphasize in the bible. (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." When we understand that God has a plan for us, when we decide to give Him control of our lives, then it makes sense that he does not want anyone to perish, but that all to be saved. But I understand that, many will probably disagree on this statement and there will be people that won't believe that God exists, that he is the real one and it won't change his heart, that perverse Heart, which does not let them Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. My Favorite Class Essay My favorite classes this year were Mrs. Menzel's two english classes. I have learned so much about myself as a reader, student, and an intellectual. Through both of her classes, we were given endless amounts of opportunity. What I mean by this is, we got to choose our own topics to study, books to read, and subjects to write about. We were truly treated like adults, which in my eyes, helped prepare us for the "real world". Her willingness to let us grow as individuals was very inspiring, because she believed that we could do it on our own, with a little push whenever we needed it. I have gotten the chance to discover that I actually enjoy reading! Specifically, I discovered that Jodi Picoult might be my favorite author as of now. Also, I realized that writing is one of my favorite things to do, it is a passion of mine and I hope I can continue it somehow with the career that I choose. Personally, her two classes have helped me grow as a speaker, writer, and reader. In her CCC class, I was able to write a profile on my dad, which really strengthened my relationship with him. After printing him a copy, and seeing tears in his eyes made me very grateful for this experience to share with him how much of a role model he is to me. In her English Lit class, I was able to ask my grandma and mom what books they would recommend for me. Having these conversations with them made their hearts warm, since I was showing interest in books for once (they are both book lovers). Her class pushed me to be the best that I can, and it wasn't for the grade that I got. It was for learning about myself, and what I was capable of. That's when I learned that her classes are actually changing me as a student. For an example, when I was working on a project, I wasn't basing every single sentence on what the rubric told me to do. I was branching out and working on it because I truly wanted to learn more about the topic and put my all into it. Thankfully, I have matured a great amount as a student because of Mrs. Menzel and her life lessons through teaching, and by just being herself. I truly feel ready for college now because of Mrs. Menzel, and I am grateful for that. This year, I changed my intended major from Business to Education, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Besides, books play an important role in upbringing our feelings, views and tastes; give us a lot of useful information. • 16. My Favorite Book Essay My favorite book is called The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn and it was written by Mark Twain. The book is about a thirteen–year–old boy called Huckleberry Finn, who just became rich from his last adventure with Tom Sawyer (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) and the Widow Douglas and her sister, Miss Watson, wanted to take care of Huck and civilize him, but later, Huck sneaks out of the house at night and joinsTom Sawyer's gang. Later in the story, Huck quits the gang because the adventures were illusory and also his dad, Pap, comes to the town and steals Huck from the Widow Douglas. Huck is slightly comfortable with his life free from religion and school, but his father's beatings become too excruciating, so he fakes his death and escapes down the Mississippi, landing on Jackson's island. There, he stumbles across Miss Watson's slave, Jim, who has run away for fear he will be sold down the river. Huck soon learns that men are coming to the island, so he informs Jim that they were gonna leave the island and travel down the Mississippi. From here on out, Huck and Jim experience a number of adventures, they encounter a band of robbers aboard a wrecked steamboat and two Southern "refined" families who are involved in a bloody feud. The only time when Huck and Jim feel that they are truly free is when they are aboard the raft. This freedom and tranquility are soon shattered by the arrival of the duke and the king. • 17. My Favourite Book (1) I have read a number of books in English and Hindi. Most of them have been to my liking and I have spent many an hour reading them. But one which has pleased me most is Munshi Prem Chand's 'Godaan'. 'Godaan', is Prem Chand's master–piece and ranks very high in the world of fiction. The book portrays the life of the poor villagers – Hari, Dhania and tohers. The author felt the problems of the villagers and placed them before us honestly. Closely connected with their lives is the picture of the town people – Meassrs Khanna and Mehta and ladies. Like Gobindi, Malti and others. They are a contrast to the lives of these simple villagers. I have read a good number of novels, dramas, short stories and poems. Some books merely give enjoyment. There are others which leave a deeper impression on the mind. Some books infuse the spirit of nationalism in the reader. But I have not come across a single book so far, which is so good as the Ramcharitra Manas of Tulsi Das. Sri Goswami Tulsi Das Ji is the writer of this great epic. Every Indian has read or heard the story of Ram and Sita. The popular story has been narrated in this book in the most beautiful way. • 19. I Read My Favorite Book When I was a child, my favorite book was Grover's Book of Little Cute Baby Animals. I would ask my mother if she could read it to me every day. My parents thought that I enjoyed the book because I liked to read, but the real reason was that I adored the baby animals. Reading the book was tedious to me, but I loved looking at the pictures. All through elementary school and junior high, reading and writing were never my favorite subjects. I have always felt forced to read and write by my teachers, but I have never enjoyed them, because I have felt that the quality of my skills are low. When I was in third grade, my teacher had a reading competition for my class. Whoever read the most books and had the most Accelerated Reader points would win a trophy at the end of the year. Participation in the reading contest was mandatory. Whenever my teacher told me to read, I would read. I did not enjoyed it, but I would still do it simply because my teacher told me to. However, I wanted to win that competition more than anything. I wanted my fellow classmates to think that I was smart, because I didn't think that I was. I believed that if my teacher and other students thought that I was an excellent reader, I would believe it as well. When I won that competition in May, everyone was cheering for me, and I finally felt like I was adequate at reading. Unfortunately, that feeling did not last very long. By the next year, I again felt that I was not sufficient enough at reading to be successful in the classroom. In seventh grade, I had an English teacher, Mrs. Putnam, who made me more insecure about my reading and writing abilities than anyone ever had before. It was my very first GATE class, and I was determined to do well. Therefore, whenever Mrs. Putnam told me to read or write, I would do it with my one hundred percent effort, even though I hated doing either of them. I soon came to realize that her way of teaching made me extremely unconfident in my reading and writing. I remember one specific conversation she had with a couple of students in my class and me. Mrs. Putnam said with anger in her voice, "There is no reason why any of you should not be getting straight A's. Maybe you shouldn't be in GATE, if Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. My Favorite Book Essay My favorite book is The Kite Runner by Khaled Housseini. The Kite Runner is the story of two boys, Amir and Hassan in Afghanistan as the country is sent into increasing turmoil by a plethora of political events, ranging from the fall of the monarchy, the takeover of the Soviet Union, the ensuing war between Afghanistan and the Soviet Union, and the rise of the Taliban. Amir is the son of a wealthy man, Baba and is a part of the ethno–religious majority; Hassan is the son of Amir's father's servant, and is a part of the ethno–religious minority. Their friendship is imperfect and often one–sided, with Hassan repeatedly defending and fighting for Amir, who not only fails to do the same, but also resents Hassan for issues in his own life, including his strained relationship with his father. Amir's cowardice and struggles as a friend are highlighted when he fails to intervene as his friend is raped by Assef, an older, wealthy boy with Nazi sympathies. Eventually, Amir comes to feel deep guilt regarding his imperfect friendship with Hassan, and through this guilt he pushes Hassan away. However, even when Hassan is gone, and even when Amir and his father are forced to flee to the United States as refugees, the guilt of how he failed his friend still plagues him. He does, however, get the opportunity to redeem himself and to help Hassan. Many years later, after Baba dies, Amir is sent to right the wrongs of his father (and through this also the wrongs of himself) by meeting with his Get more content on HelpWriting.net
