Abstract: Urban lakes play a significant role in to enhance the habitat and conserves micro
level development of flora and fauna. Lake as an urban sink and some patches like Green
cover reduces pollution because green lungs of urban fabric/habitats for animal life in other
words, it acts as breathing spaces in the dense urban developments. As these lakes are facing
the challenges for their existence due to constant expansion and external pressures of
emerging industries as well as slums have had a profound effect on the environment of lake.
To achieve a sustainable paramedic shift to intervene in such a scenario it becomes very
important to enhance the respective biodiversity. Nagpur, a metropolitan city which is the
geological center of India is a famous as a city of lakes. Ambazari Lake a one of the largest
and most beautiful lake in Nagpur, having a largest catchment area; plays an important role in
biodiversity and supporting the habitat of a varied bird species is in danger due to
surrounding urbanization hence a verge on pollution and thus needs to be protected and
conserved. This paper is an effort to find out the viable solutions which can diminish the
issues by analyzing the SWOTS. The scientific studies of allied fraternities like the Use of
plant species along their root system with the natural attenuation processes can be combined
together to get the phytorid technology and their influences to derive the innovations which
will help to resolve the computation issues related to water pollutions of Urban Lakes.
