The document lists 10 common motivators for successful individuals in their careers: challenge, competence, independence, interest, lifestyle, money, recognition, relationships, security, and variety. It provides an example composition discussing how these motivators have impacted one's professional development. The learner is asked to rank the motivators from most to least important, then write a composition discussing their rankings and relating the motivators to their own experiences.

Evidence: My motivators
Studies of successful individuals have found that there are a few motivators that
guide their career and job choices, and make working an enjoyable and successful
experience for them. Below you will find a list with the motivators that are most
commonly mentioned by high-achieving people. For this evidence you have to
organize them in order of importance from 1 (the most important) to 10 (the least
important) and write a composition expressing how they have been part of your
professional development. Recycle the grammar and vocabulary you have learned
in this learning activity. (Example: I feel variety is the most important factor in my
motivation. I don’t like doing repetitive things. In my current job I have learned how
to use Photoshop and how to market different products online. I am becoming very
good at it and now I am able to teach others.)

The Challenge has been and will continue to be my main motivation to overcome
obstacles. When I want to make something part of my life, I try harder to
achieve it.
Having confidence in myself has allowed me to overcome and develop many
adversities in my life. It has also helped me take risks and convey my ideas
without fear. Thanks to security, I am studying English today. Confidence in
myself does not mean feeling superior to others, it is about knowing that I am a
person capable of achieving everything I set my mind to.
I fight to have a good lifestyle, in order to do whatever I promise myself, I
always fight to achieve it, doing things in a certain way and above all, being
myself without imitating what I am not.
I try to make variety of ideas and ignorance and new concepts in everything I
do, since repeating the same thing would make me a little more boring than I am.
Having recognition in myself helps me a lot to feel much more motivated than I
feel when I do something satisfying or fail in any decision making. Give myself
support to improve more if necessary.
Having independence is sometimes good and helps us a lot as a motivator, since
that way you know what you have, what you can invest in and what it has cost you
to achieve. Sometimes you can also reach the goal alone.
But we must not forget that relationships are necessary between human beings,
in order to form alliances to achieve common goals, which otherwise would be
difficult to achieve.
4. Interest has been my main engine to put hope in the things I do. When I am
interested in a project, I focus on making it work well as I am doing now to
achieve my goal of speaking English.
Competing in what I do, being competent does not guarantee money or fame, but
reputation in what I do.
Money is not a motivator. Many people say that money is not everything in life
and they are absolutely right. But that does not mean that it is not important in
our lives. It is essential to cover our basic needs and indulge ourselves from
time to time, but also to achieve many of the things we want in life. Whether we
like it or not.
