24. What you can do….
IGCSE Language GCSE Literature
• Support coursework! Students will
be able to draft and re-draft and will
also need to research topics for the
Response to a Text piece.
• You can also support the Speaking
and Listening part of the course –
students will need to make a short
presentation followed up by a Q&A
session. They will have preparation
booklets to support them and there
is a lot in there that you can help
them with.
• Buy the texts:
‘Of Mice and Men’
‘Animal Farm’
Both can be bought cheaply (from the
internet or second hand) and students
will need to read them at least twice to
be prepared for the exam.
26. AQA linear exam
• applying mathematics in context
• problem solving
• reasoning
• the functional elements of mathematics
Two question papers, differently weighted so
that 60% of the assessment allows the use of
a calculator
29. Intervention
• Students are identified termly based on
classwork and assessments.
• If they are not on target, intervention is put in
place during tutor time or PE lessons for 6
weeks.
• These sessions focus on particular skills to
support the student to make progress.
