2. About Iceland
Iceland is an Island far up in the north.
There are 330.000 people who lives there.
We have our special language, Icelandic. Which is one of the languages in the
world that is in danger of disappear.
3. About Iceland part II
Iceland is famous these days and we have a lot of tourism.
Iceland has done well in sports in the last few years and along with Germany and
Poland had the men´s national team in the finals in European Finals 2016 in
football, handball and basketball. The football team made it also to Russia 2018.
Iceland came independent 1944 and then we changed from the Danish king to
Icelandic president.

4. Food
Iceland is an Island and for many years we made most of our income from fishing
around Iceland.
We have very good fish industry and high standard there.
In Iceland we have great nature, very little pollution so the animals we grow have
very good natural food.
The sheeps which are the most popular food in Iceland, go free in the highlands
most of the summer, eating clean herbs and drinks good water.
5. Nature
Iceland is on the border of two Flakes, the north american flake and the european
flake. (Evarsia) Because of that we have a lot volcanos and therefore eruptions.
(Eldgos).
Eyjafjallajökull is one of our volcanos, but Hekla is the most famous one.
6. The language
We have Icelandic words for a lot of things which are different from most other
languages. We try to make our own words instead of importing it from english,
danish or other languages.

Elementary school = grunnskóli
Eruption = Eldgos
7. Nature II
Iceland is in the north and there we can see the northern lights during wintertime
almost once a week.
