About Finland
 Finland, the Republic of Finland a coastal country
in Northern Europe, formed after disconnecting
from Russia in 1917. Member of the European
Union. It is bordered to the west of Sweden and the
Baltic Sea, north of Norway and from the east with
Russia.
Finland was founded in 1917, after the collapse of
the tsarist government. Finland did not have the
tradition of state, since the conquest in the Middle
Ages was the Finnish peoples under foreign -
Swedish rule, then more than 100 years under
Russian rule.
Demography
The capital of Finland is Helsinki. Official
language is Finnish and Swedish. The president
is Tarja Halonen. The population is 5 313 ​026 .
The currency is Euro.The highest peak is
Haltiatunturi (1328 m), and the longest river is
Kemijoki (550 km). The largest lake is Saimaa
(1377 km ²). Finland has access to the sea, the
Baltic Sea. Dominant religion is Lutheranism.

Finnish food
The basis of Finnish food is milk and milk products.
Finns drink lots of coffee with milk. When it comes
to drinks, you can meet them with beer and cider,
fermented juice of ripe apples.
Finns eat a lot of vegetables, and breads. In addition
to ordinary bread there is still a whole range of
sweet buns. They make sandwiches with such
ingredients as cheese, ham, lettuce, cucumber,
tomato. As a nation with plenty of sea and inland
waters Finns eat much fish and seafood.

 Kaj Tapio(Tapsa) Rautavaara- Finnish
   athlete, Spearman. Olympic champion from
   London. Also, singer and actor.
 Jouko Ahola- Finnish strongman, actor and
 bodybuilder.
 Maila Nurmi- Finnish actress, known mainly
 from the role "Vampires" in the movie Plan nine
 from outer space, directed by Ed Wood.
 Kati Outinen- Finnish actress. Winner of prize for
 best actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 for
 his role in Man Without a Past. He currently teaches
 at the Theatre Academy of Finland.
