compliance with Pension Fund Act, Regulation, Directives, Circulars, and

• Examine and verify accuracy of the taxpayer’s records;
• Collect audit evidence by interviewing taxpayer, documents generated by taxpayers,
analyzing data, observation;

• Complete audit working papers to justify adjustment made to a taxpayer’s assessment,
in the event that the assessment is objected to;
• Liaise with taxpayers, their representatives and other professional people to assist
them in complying with the relevant tax regulations;
• Raise and adjust assessments according to the findings of each audit in order to rectify
the final tax liability of the taxpayer;
• Liaise with Collection staff in respect of tax liability resulting from audit intervention;
• Process objections and appeals in respect of cases audited to facilitate the finalization
of tax liability;
• Identify, report and escalate significant fraud cases and issues for criminal
investigations;
• Liaise with Law Administration staff in respect of contentious issues;
• Respond to queries from taxpayers to provide the client service, improve visibility
and compliance and ensure transparency;
• Responsible to provide client service in accordance with the client service charter to
enhance compliance and the image of SARS;
• To share knowledge with colleagues to assist with their experience and knowledge
and to contribute to their development;
