3. The people who made it
possible
Apollo was not a three man mission. On this historic moment we
pay our respect to the brave three astronauts of Apollo 11 as well
as every other person associated with one of the greatest feat of
mankind.
Here’s a glimpse of a few maestros in the shadows

4. Edward White, Virgil Grissom and
Roger Chafee were the astronauts
selected for the first manned mission
to space by NASA. They would have flown
the first mission of the Apollo program.
But unfortunately, it was a catastrophic
failure as their command and service
module caught fire, asphyxiating the
crew.

5. Margaret Hamilton led the team at MIT
that created the Apollo on-board flight
software. In the photo she is standing
next to listing of the actual Apollo
guidance computer source code.

6. Wernher Von Braun was chief
of the Saturn V booster rocket
development project. His company
had overseen the production of
Saturn rockets.
