Both were unaware of the
vehicles coming from the
other end.
Which can result in
collision of the vehicles.
Most of the accident that happen
in valleys because the vehicle
coming from one side is unable
to recognize the vehicle coming
from either side.
In order to reduce the
probability of the
accidents in the
valleys this project
will prove to be quite
beneficial.
• When vehicle traveling from route ‘A’ crosses
the sensor ‘1’ ( which is at the 15m from the
signal 1), the signal ‘2’ will be lighted and hence
the vehicle coming from route ‘B’ will be aware
about the situation.
• Signal ‘2’ will be auto set for 5minutes.
• The vehicle coming from route ‘B’ will be
provided space between sensor ‘4’ an ‘3”.
• Exactly opposite process will take place when
vehicle will come from route ‘B’
• All the four sensors are connected to a
microcontroller.
• The microcontroller will take the inputs from all the
four sensors.
• If it get the input from sensor ‘1’ the signals will be
sent to signal ‘2’
• If it is from sensor ‘4’ then signal ‘1’ will be glown
• If the inputs are from both the sensors ‘1’ and ‘4’
then microcontroller will be program in such a manner
that the priority will be given to vehicle moving up.
• Both the signals ‘1’ and ‘2’ will be of uniform colour i.e.
Red.
• Both the signals will be set according to the timer of 5
minutes after activation.
 It reduces the probability of
accidents on turns by notifying the person
driving the vehicle on other side.
 It is totally automated mechanism so no need
of human power.
 The mechanism uses simple red signal light
to notify the driver, hence no question of
literacy arises.
 The mechanism is also tend
to work in foggy or rainy conditions. And
also at the night time
 In case of land slide the system will notify the
condition to the driver on the other side.
(It will sense the fallen rocks as an
obstruction and will display the signal red on
the other side)
 For vehicles which don’t have
• Anti Lock Break Mechanism
Or
• Adaptive Headlights
 These barricade attach on the
turn will prevent the car from
falling from the edge.
Though this project is very beneficial but it
also has some limitations as follows:
 Storms
 Cloud burst
 Grazing of animals
 If this project is sufficiently apted by the
government then the system can also give
information such as weight, size of the
vehicle.

Remedies for avoiding accidents on ghats

  • 1.
  • 2. Both were unaware of the vehicles coming from the other end. Which can result in collision of the vehicles.
