“How Powerful The UAE Is”
• In this video it
gives a brief
description of the
UAE economy and
government
structure. It also
explains have far
the UAE has come
over the last
couple of decades.
4. Climate
•The UAE is a very hot, sunny
country, but can drop down
temperatures at night.
Summer is from June to
August. But in the winter it
doesn’t get as cold as it does
here in the United States. The
temperature from December
to February is 70 degrees to
80 degrees fahrenheit.
5. Government
Structure
UAE’s government structure consist of
president picked by the Supreme Council
of Rulers. The Supreme Council of Rulers
are not of the most import decision making
councils. The Vice President and President
term last 5 years when elected. Also, the
UAE have a 40 member parliament that is
called Federal National Council (FNC).
6. The United Arab
Emirates dirham is
the official currency
of Dubai and other
Emirates,
abbreviated as the
AED (United Arab
Emirates Dirham).

7. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the United Arab
Emirates expanded 2% in 2019 from the previous year. The
GDP growth rate average 4.23% from 2000 until 2019,
reaching an all time high of 9.8% in 2006 and low of -5.2% in
2009.
GDP (trend)
8. United Arab Emirates is one of the most developed
countries in the Arab Gulf and has a high value of GDP per
capita. The GDP per capita in the UAE was last recorded
at 40782.40 US dollars in 2018. The GDP per Capita in the
UAE is equivalent to 323 percent of the world’s average.
Per capita GDP
The GDP per capita is obtained by dividing the country’s gross domestic product, adjusted by inflation, by the total
population.
9. Although the UAE is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, the
wealth is not distributed evenly. Abu Dhabi and Dubai control 83.2%
of the UAE’s GDP because of Abu Dhabi’s large oil production and
Dubai’s oil supply and commercial base. The other four emirates
depend heavily on subsidies from the UAE central government.

Within individual emirates, there are
clear economic distinctions based
on nationality and gender. Women
are routinely discriminated against
in hiring decisions. The UAE also
faces a poverty rate of 19.5% with
one of the worst wealth gaps
between rich and poor in the world.
10. Even though Iran is an Enemy of the UAE it is also one of their greatest Trade Allies so it is a love hate relationship between
the two. Frequently these two argue over territories and what has strained the relationship was Irans claim recently of
three islands and another island that both countries have a different name for. But this has not harmed their trade deal.

11. Labor Force
The total Labor Force in the UAE is 3.908 million.
This number is very good plus considering this makes up 81% of their
population, another interesting note is that most of the labor force, 88%
of it in fact consists of males under 45 years of age. The reason for this is
that the lowest paid workers are not allowed to bring families with them
since this form of government relies on a system called Emiratization, in
which they bring foreign workers to fill up the job market. Nationals only
make up about 10-15% of the labor market. Female participation in the
job market was relatively small in the latest study standing at 15.5%
Another great thing about they way their system works is that the have an
extremely low unemployment rate, never reaching above 4%.
12. Slow Deflation is being noted
• Consumer prices Declined 1.9% by a
year-on-year basis in April of 2020
following a 1.6% fall in the previous
month. This was the sixteenth straight
month of deflation and at the steepest
rate since October.
• Going forward, inflation is predicted to
remain largely at bay amid relatively low
global oil prices are set to moderate the
rise.
• Another prediction is that the inflation
rate will average to 0.4% later in 2020
and then in 2021 will average at a 2.0%

throughout the country and the UAE is home to two major international airlines, Emirates

flydubai. Infrastructure in the UAE is not just about transportation. Telecommunication
infrastructure in the country has been steadily developed and the telecommunications
sector accounts for a significant portion of the economy. The Aviation aspect is probably
the most important part of the infrastructure as it makes up 19% of the employment in
Dubai alone. It also forms 28% of the total GDP in Dubai and contributes $22bn annually
to that GDP.
