7. NEEDS OBSERVED
Home made food is the healthiest and tastiest food one can
have.
But most of them prefer to have their lunch in Hotels, Canteens,
Restaurants.. etc……
There are many reasons for this ,like preparing the food early in
the morning, preparing different foods daily etc……
But the main reason for having the lunch outside is their lunch
box.
It may be due to its size, shape, design, material and many other
reasons
Because of this we decided to make need analysis on the lunch
box.

8. Following are the problems they shared with us…
• “The food will not remain hot”
• “when I carry chicken curry, oil comes out of the box”
• “In normal lunch box the food will not remain hot and the hot boxes are
costlier”
• “The food I carry will not be sufficient for me”
• “I’m not comfortable with carrying it”
• “I’m not comfortable with eating in it, in a small box”
• “I can’t carry more than two items”
• “Because I carry hot items opening the lid will be very difficult sometimes”
• “Food falls outside while eating”
• “Can’t carry very hot food because of the plastic material”
• And many more…..

9. Out of those ,two needs were common for everyone
• “I’m not comfortable with eating in it, in a small box”
• “Food falls outside while eating”
So we decided to design a new concept of lunchbox based on the
above needs, as many new designs were available in the market for
satisfying other needs.

11. PORTABLE CHAIR

12. Imagine you are standing in a queue for more than an hour, or
waiting for the train, that is long-delayed and you have no seat
around you to sit . Now imagine that you have a tiny foldable
chair that could pop out when your back and knees starts
aching and you can sit on it. Yes, never more we will be
dependent on stationary resting or seating.
This need made us to take the idea of portable chair as our
final year project

shell.
• As children use sharpener by
folding their palm,so it will be easy
for them if sharpener is of conical
shape. But there is a chance of
getting hurt by blade when use din
this manner.
• So I have included a protecting
cover (Similar to the shape of a
