10 Most Disruptive AI CompaniesTransforming Healthcare 2021, we bring to you, the companies that are leveraging AI most effectively to transform healthcare services to match with the evolving industry demands & patient needs.
4. ealthcare is one of the most important sectors in
Hthe economy. Covid-19 especially has triggered
the need to have a robust healthcare sector.
Medical science is improving rapidly, it has raised life
expectancy around the world, but along with an increase in
life expectancy of people, healthcare systems face the
increasing demand for their services, improved
infrastructure, rising costs, allocation of enough funds by
the government, and a competent workforce to meet the
needs of the patients.
Demand for improved healthcare services is driven by a
combination of forces like changing patient expectations,
population aging, a dynamic shift in lifestyle choices, etc.
Healthcare systems now have to deal with more patients
and with their complex needs.
Traditional practices in the healthcare system have started
becoming less efficient and time-consuming. Therefore,
there is a necessity for a more robust, personalized,
innovative, modern, and advanced healthcare system to
meet the needs of the changing times.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to transform
how healthcare services are perceived and delivered. AI has
the capability to bring improvements in patient care
outcomes, patient experience, and improving overall
healthcare services. AI can increase the efficiency and
productivity of care delivery for patients and allow
healthcare systems to provide efficient, productive, and
better care to more people.
Artificial Intelligence can also increase the experience of
healthcare providers, enabling these practitioners to give
more quality time in direct patient care and reducing panic
and burnouts. Building on Artificial Intelligence has the
capacity to revolutionize healthcare and help resolve the
challenges in the healthcare system. Artificial Intelligence is
becoming more effective in ensuring better care delivery to
patients, clinical decision support, advanced diagnostics,
chronic care management, and preventing people from
acquiring diseases.
Artificial Intelligence gives an unprecedented opportunity
to reshape and disrupt healthcare. The companies that have
started using Artificial Intelligence are able to deliver better
and improved healthcare services. Artificial Intelligence can
improve the care delivery in patient intake and engagement
which is the most important part of the healthcare journey.
AI-based conversational interfaces can automate care
navigation and patient screening. AI can also be developed
which can communicate with patients on a frequent basis to
make sure that they remain positively engaged and in sync
with the care regimen.
Using Artificial Intelligence to automate interactions of
patients and caretakers can reduce the costs and
democratize easy access to healthcare by making expert
health guidance accessible without the need for human
physicians’ most expensive time.

14. With the rise in adoption of AI, big data,
machine learning, transformative solutions
have been made available to address problems
that have been lingering for ages. Companies across the
world have breathed life into their ideas by leveraging
these technologies at the right time and for the right
necessities.
On a similar note, we at Insights Care set out on a journey
to seek the 10 most disruptive AI companies that are
transforming healthcare, and we crossed paths with
CareCru Inc., the creator of Donna™, a virtual dental
practice assistant, powered by AI, that grows and manages
dental practices.
CareCru aims to transform the dental experience to
maximize the potential of every practice. Its mission is to
empower dental practices with transformative technology
to grow their business and deliver an exceptional
experience every time.
CareCru has developed the most comprehensive platform
in the market today. The company is continually
developing new features and adding functionalities that
provide value to dental practices and their patients. The
company’s practice success team is available and
empowered to help customers get full value from the
CareCru platform.
“The first step is to deliver a report card on how the
practice is currently producing or being managed. Once
we establish state of the practice, we enable our biggest
differentiator, which is automation. Donna reduces tedious
and repetitive manual work while adding to the overall
performance and productivity of the practice,” says
Lonny McLean, the CEO and Founder.
Meet Donna™
Donna is an intelligent, automated assistant that helps
staff and practitioners grow and manage their dental
offices, whether individual practices or multi-practice
groups. It enhances new patient acquisition via patient
engagement and reputation management, improves
practice productivity through workflow automation, and
provides business analytics to underpin improved decision
making.
By leveraging Donna, dental practices are able to grow
and manage their business, while effectively enhancing
their patient experience. The team at CareCru says,
“hiring Donna is like adding three world-class team
members to your practice—a front office assistant, a
marketing specialist, and a practice consultant.”
By taking care of the more tedious and mundane tasks,
Donna allows the front office team to focus on higher
value activities, such as patient interaction and treatment
acceptance. As Lonny puts it, “Donna is the front office’s
new favorite team member because she sees an area that
needs improvement, she rolls up her sleeves and gets right
to work.”
Expertise Exemplified

15. investigation of the dental industry
revealed that practices had a lot of
interaction with patients yet were
very poorly serviced with
technology that could make patient
communications more efficient and
effective.
The technology being used was
generally inadequate or outdated.
There was little in the way of
automation. Lonny recognized that
practices could reduce time spent
on mundane tasks, and enhance
profitability, while providing an
improved experience for patients
and staff through proper
development and deployment of
technology. And thus, CareCru was
born.
We asked Lonny to share his
opinion on how the adaptation of
AI in the healthcare discipline has
transformed the healthcare industry
and what more could be expected
in the near future, to which he says,
“traditionally, people think of AI as
a lens through which they can
make better decisions at more
optimal times, typically taking the
form of better analytics. But this is
a lagging indicator, using past
data.”
“We at CareCru see AI as playing a
much more active role in
healthcare by being able to truly
learn from the data we have.
Instead of pulling data or running a
report, the entire application is
learning how to make the practice
smarter, to guide, steer and work
on behalf of the practice. While AI
will take a much more active role
in optimizing the practice and
making it more intelligent, it does
not replace the need for human-to-
human interaction in healthcare. AI

the benefit of all stakeholders,” he adds.
Overcoming Adversities
Commenting on how CareCru fared through the
pandemic, Lonny states, “our company has always
embraced working remotely thus the pandemic has not
dramatically changed our own workflow. We were,
however, very quick to respond to some of the changes in
the industry and introduced technology to enable safe re-
opening of dental practices. Our Virtual Waiting Room
minimizes human to human contact while at the same
time streamlining patient intake. Patients love it. We have
grown throughout the pandemic, more than doubling our
headcount. COVID-19 has shone a light on the need
for dental practices to adopt new technologies at an
accelerated pace.”
Quality Today and Tomorrow
When asked what his advice would be to budding
entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the
HealthTech sector, Lonny says, “there is a lot of
money flowing into the space due to demographics
(aging population) and the need to cut costs and
improve efficiency and care in an overburdened
system. Be innovative, move fast, find your
niche, and set your sights on being the
best in the world within it. These are
principles that guide CareCru.”
Lonny envisions CareCru being the
leading comprehensive patient

automation and business analytics
platform in the dental industry.
He believes that leading
practices will rely on CareCru to

21. f you have data, there’s a lot of artificial intelligence
Iwhich can work pretty close to human sensibilities in
order to bring about awesome outcomes. What is
central though is the presence of humongous quantities of
data for the systems to whet its teeth on. With most fields of
activity generating their own share of data, there’s always
scope for AI to work out certain outcomes.
Of these, the most significant use is in the field of
healthcare where data gets captured across various points
for various reasons be it to record diseases, accidents, cures,
duration of disease and its cure, signals given by our bodies
and so on. In sum, putting to use such humongous data
when put in the right silos besides giving better insights into
diseases and their cure, shall also greatly help allied
industries today called wearables.
We mention below specific instances whereby leveraging
AI and Big Data, the healthcare industry has among others
found the right medium of cures and cares.
1. Cure for the incurables! Better interpretation for early
detection! Neural networks like the ones developed by the
likes of Google to identify traffic signals and stop/ start
vehicles led to the thinking that it may be possible to use
the same kind of intelligence to study retinas of diabetics to
detect the possibility of early-stage blindness which they
may suffer later in life. These besides, AI and deep learning
using their amazing neural networks can detect anomalies
in x-rays and MRI scans at speeds unthinkable for human
radiologists!
2. Reducing costs associated with dispensing medical
assistance! If figures of the US are to be believed, 25% of
the entire cost of providing medical assistance goes to
administrative costs of doing so which includes
emoluments and remuneration to medical assistance staff.
This entire cost which may amount to a whooping USD 150
billion in a few years’ time can be entirely done away with
and the savings transferred towards better services by
depending upon AI-related systems which take care of
repetitive jobs which need the backing of big-data for
predictive analysis.
Another aspect is to transfer data collection to AI-assisted
self-care systems which can be handled by patients
themselves. Also, by going to the cloud, a lot of savings
take place in the absence of brick-and-mortar.
3. Reducing costs associated with discovering and
producing drugs! Without the backing of AI & related big-
data, therapeutics, the field of discovering new drugs, uses
and ways of producing drugs cheaper could take years to
come about and that too without any guarantee of success to
recover the resources spent. Wrong set of data, incomplete
data etc are some of the problems.
Estimating likely outcomes without a fast system of
computing usually takes years to conclude where
everything including testing must be done manually
including the tests themselves. All these can be obviated
where ML systems using correctly siloed data speeds up the
process of drug discovery.
While years can be shaved off using an ‘in-silico’ approach
instead of ‘in-vitro’ and ‘in-vivo’, the predictability of
outcomes also become better. All this though depends upon
the availability of significant quantities of data and
information.

Abridging AI and Diagnostic Imaging
CEREBRIU
Innovation in the discipline of
healthcare has been eminent since
the time it was deemed
quintessential for humanity.
Technology—the major catalyst for
this innovation—has aided companies
to turn their ideas into reality and
revolutionize the healthcare industry.
The following interview highlights one
such company that has leveraged
technology to innovate optimum
solutions in the medical devices sphere
and has carved a name for itself –
Cerebriu.
Below are the excerpts from the
interview with Robert Lauritzen,
CEO & Co-Founder of Cerebriu.
Brief our readers about Cerebriu.
Cerebriu fundamentally aspires at
simplifying radiology through
intelligent software, automating
diagnostic imaging examinations for
faster treatment and improved access
to care. We collaborate globally to
cater for local innovation and strive to
improve health and well-being
wherever we go.
What are the prominent solutions
and products, that make Cerebriu
stand out from the competition?
Our Apollo Brain AI-solution
automates brain MR-imaging through
our patent pending Smart Protocol to
ensure right data acquired during first
examination based on detected and
classified candidate findings during
examination, and patient triage
supporting clinical decision when the
patient leaves the examination room.
What is your opinion on the
adaptation of AI in the healthcare
discipline, how it has transformed
the industry and what more could be
expected in the near future?
The promise of AI in healthcare driven
by deep learning technology and
accessible compute power is widely
recognized attracting growing
investments across the globe. The
potential impact on healthcare is
transformative from current physical
MedTech dominated paradigm to a
truly digital era in care.
Mainstream implementation and long-
term effects are within sight as many
strive to provide solid and consistent
clinical evidence on improved
efficiency, time to treatment and
outcomes. The first AI-solutions are
being adopted across larger systems
post-pilot, while standards to ensure
quality and commercialization are
evolving to support scaled
implementation, and deployment for
future adoption of AI in healthcare to
deliver on that promise.
Taking into consideration, the
current pandemic, and its impact on
global economies, how are you
driving your organization to sustain
operations and ensuring safety of
your employees at the same time?
At Cerebriu we have been working
entirely online since inception, so as
the pandemic locked down daily
operations at the office, we seamlessly
transitioned to working from home.
Even during relaxation of lockdown
last Summer, we continued to support
working from home, adapting our
interactions for more virtual
collaboration.
What would be your advice to
budding entrepreneurs who aspire to
venture into the HealthTech sector?
HealthTech takes time, especially when
working B2B with hospitals and large-
scale healthcare providers and payers.
Although digital, there is no shortcut to
clinical evidence, and the evaluation of
AI in healthcare takes time. Have
patience. Be resilient. And go for it.
Where do you envision your
organization to be in the long run
and what are your future goals?

cases and further development of the
AI in a globally federated learning and
validation infrastructure, developing
attending radiologists into such
orchestrators and improving patient
pathways and ultimately outcomes in
collaboration with appropriate
clinicians and specialists.

27. It is significantly important to use
advanced technologies like
Artificial Intelligence in the
healthcare sector to maximize the
quality and efficiency of the healthcare
solutions. Use of AI technology in the
healthcare sector can increase the
productivity of healthcare delivery and
it has the potential to allow healthcare
systems to provide more better and
improved care to people.
AI improves the experience of
healthcare practitioners, which enables
them to spend more time in close
patient care and decreasing burnout. AI
has the tremendous potential to
transform the way healthcare is
perceived.
Building on Automation and AI can
revolutionize healthcare services, help
reduce the challenges in the medical
sector, and can significantly improve
the health of people. In pertinence,
Cuure is a consumer health startup,
helping everyone improve their
wellness, through a personalized
scientific and technological experience.
In an interview with Insights Care,
Hugo Facchin the Co-founder, and
CEO at Cuure, shares the company’s
journey and a few details regarding its
contribution to the healthcare sector.
Below are the highlights of the
interview:
Please brief our audience about
Cuure, its values, vision, and
mission.
Jules Marcilhacy, the cofounder and
COO, and I are both entrepreneurs
with experience in the US, originally,
in direct-to-consumer startups. And we
both come from families of doctors and

28. going to cater to your need at any time
at any point in your life cycle.
Our specialized capsules come from a
natural environment which, in our
opinion, is the best for you. Our herbal
capsules are sourced from plants in
their most natural and responsible
habitat. Some have been used for
centuries in their region of origin for
their therapeutic properties. They can
help improve our health, energy, and
cognitive abilities. We are also offering
capsules for vitamins and mineral
needs as well.
The tagline on your company’s
LinkedIn page says Nutraceutic
revolution, powered by data and
science. Can you shed some light on
the same?
Basically, personalization and science
are at the heart of the company and are
supported by our mastering of data and
technology. So, as you see, the tip of
the iceberg is that we are a direct-to-
consumer company selling
nutraceutical products. But what we
really do is, again, understanding
granularly the customer needs and
answer them very accurately, or as
accurately as possible. And that’s how
we are actually leveraging the data and
technology to fulfil this mission of
ours. And the scientific aspect is
obviously our forte.
From the medical record, the wellness
recommendation that we build with our
online tests, thanks to the expertise of
our scientific community that is
comprised of doctors in nutrition, in
pharmacy, material paths, etc., it is also
in our mastering of the value chain of
the product itself.
So, we have our own formulas that we
developed with our biology engineers
internally and the proceeds of our
scientific committee and the proceeds
of our partner labs. So, it’s all
formulas. We source our own
ingredients. Most of our ingredients
patented with actual research that are
maximizing the efficiency. And on top
of that, thanks to the availability of
accurate data, we are actually tracking
the efficiency of the price among our
customers. Hence, we have an actual
statistical visibility in terms of what
functions and what doesn’t.
Taking into consideration, the
current pandemic, and its impact on
global economies, how are you
driving your organization to sustain
operations and ensuring safety of
your employees at the same time?
It has been a quite complicated year for
all of us. For sure, in our industry, in
the health wellness space particularly
when it comes to online direct to
consumer offering, the impact wasn’t
that bad. I mean, everyone is more
conscious about their personal wellness
and want to take care of themselves
more and more with alternatives to
what they usually do.
So down the line from a pure business
standpoint, for sure, it was a pretty
good year. But obviously, what was a
real challenge is to adapt the
organization, to adapt the teams and
the project, and to keep the motivation
up, keep the ambition up.
And the main thing we did was to have
super-transparent communication with
the team in the good and in the bad, I
would say, telling them that we were
iterating, taking the decision, listening
to them, listening to their perspective,
their individual situation just to always
take the best decision. So yeah, I
would say that the main driver of our
organization in 2020 was really a real
transparent communication.
What is your opinion on combining
artificial intelligence in the
healthcare space and what can be
expected in the future?
I think that when you look at the
situation globally form the medical and
health sector, you have all the very
precise, accurate, and super scientific
approach of health from the western
countries, and the more holistic
approach, mind and body approach,
traditional approach from the Eastern
medicine perspective. And what I hope
is that I hope for the future of health
that both of those approach will coexist
and be combined. And I truly believe
that the tech and data mastering of
innovative projects like ours and like
others, obviously, that are even more
intuitive to artificial intelligence
approach will lead to this convergence.
What would be your advice to
budding entrepreneurs who aspire to
venture into the HealthTech sector?
My advice is to be bold and very
transparent. I truly think as human
beings that is one of the key supports
of our life. Health is essential. It’s very
central. There are tons of innovation
that are flourishing all over the globe.
And I think there are tons of additional
innovation that can come. And my
advice would be to be very bold
because a lot of aspects of this industry
are pretty rusty or pretty old school.
And sometimes, you’re going to have
closed doors. And I’m pretty convinced
that you need to go take a look at what
is after this door even though it’s
closed in the first place.
Where you do envision your
organization to be in the long run?
What are your future ambitions and
goals with Cuure?
Our goal is really to enable people to
have access to a scientific, credible,
one-stop-solution for wellness with
several products and services that will
be matching their needs at any time in
their life. So progressively, what we
want to build is really this platform for
consumer health and keep adding
products and services that will burnish
the vision. So obviously, the roadmap,
it’s pretty precise and we are
progressively striding towards a
successful future.

31. o the uninitiated, patient engagement is the
Tsystem in the field of medicines where an attempt
is made by the medical personnel, using various
means including high-end technology, to involve patients
positively in their own wellness. It includes the entire
gamut of providing information, changing behavioural
patterns for better responses, arranging for effective
feedback and using the same for better service deliveries.
The field of medicines is without a doubt getting better
by the day with newer discoveries being made almost
daily, be it in drug manufacturing, their dosage,
interventions like surgical processes and procedures, pre-
and post-care, exercise and nutrition, mental and
psychological health and so on.
That said, the latest and best of discoveries do not really
make the cut till the time the intended patients do not take
the right actions which may go beyond taking prescribed
care and caution and include imbibing medication as
prescribed.
To make the process more effective in every way, the
system of medication must be geared towards involving
the patients themselves in multiple ways which may
include being part of care administering to themselves
besides providing the right information about
interventions and medications.
The reason why patient engagement is increasingly
getting focus is to do with the need for a faster and
assured cure with the minimum of adverse side and after
affects, lower cost of medical interventions and lowering
of obvious wastes. Patient engagement is a fact these
days from the simplest to the most complex of medical
interventions. Making it better only helps. Some of the
ways to improve patient engagement may include:
1. Positive involvement of the medical fraternity
Patient engagement becomes positive when there’s
positivity from the care-givers’ end. And in this, the first
and most primary of contacts including the doctors and
medical practitioners have a big role to play. By showing
care and empathy, a trust and bonding can be built
between the medical fraternity and the patient.
This to the extent possible needs to be replicated at every
point where the patient encounters the medical field be it
the support staff, pharmacy, radiology and reporting,
post-procedure care, ambulances and so on. What is
essential is to show empathy at every stage which should
be the opposite of taking every patient as a necessary evil
or disturbance.
2. Make things simple to follow yet meaningful.
Making things complicated is the last thing to engender
trust and liking, especially so when one is in pain and
looks to help and care. In such times, by having systems
which border on the absurd with no chance of a recourse
only adds to the feeling of hurt and ends up making the
patient withdrawn, aloof and least interesting in
registering a positive response or giving a positive
feedback so essential in making interventions more
fruitful.
3. Keep the intervention continuous.
For positive patient engagement, it is essential that the
interventions have a degree of continuity which could
extend from the present engagement to others in the
future and could also involve those within the family or
within the circle of immediate and close ones. Such close
interventions are a sure way of keeping the engagement
live for the entire group instead of just one individual
where the chances of conversation dying out in higher in
the case of individuals.
4. Use technology to the extent possible
With the net spreading its wings far and wide,
communication has become super-easy. And its
communication that is the lynchpin in the case of
effective care giving. Using a plethora of wearables
where possible, and using technologies including cloud

33. The global pandemic has
demonstrated the need for
digitization in healthcare
delivery. Digitization of healthcare,
which has enabled telehealth is not a
fancy idea anymore, it is the need of
the hour. Such digitization has/will
create the basic foundations of
information infrastructure. And this in
turn will accelerate the pace of
adoption of breakthrough technology
such as AI, robotics, prescriptive
analytics, and so on, at a significantly
faster pace than it was anticipated.
Truth is that we are moving at a
breakneck speed towards a future of
precision medicine and personalized
treatment plans, robotic surgeries
performed remotely, where AI will be
ubiquitous, omnipresent behind every
decision, clinical or otherwise, that we
humans will be making to deliver and
receive healthcare.
With the core mission to eliminate
unnecessary healthcare and address
inefficiencies and wastages that costs
US healthcare approximately $1.2
trillion each year, Hindsait was
formed. Hindsait is committed to
helping healthcare get better. The
company has been realizing this vision

its clients’ and patients’ data with the
greatest care and with utmost
importance. This includes
complying with all HIPAA
(Health Insurance
Portability and
Accountability Act of
1996), environmental,
safety and fair dealing
laws and beyond in
everything we do.

Being an experienced leader, share
with us your opinion on how the
adaptation of AI in the healthcare
discipline has transformed the
industry and what more could be
expected in the near future?
From our vantage point, two areas
where Healthcare has been investing
heavily today in AI are in the areas of
Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
and in Clinical Decision Support
(CDS). We expect to see accelerations
of investments in these two areas of
RCM and CDS going forward.
As AI adoptions in healthcare industry
expands, becomes more mature, and
with improved machine learning
performance enhancements, we will
see a future where AI layer will be
ubiquitous, all-pervading in every
application that the Payers, Providers,
Pharmaceuticals and Patients will be
using, touching, sharing, and
communicating towards a true AI
enabled healthcare ecosystem.
What would be your advice to
budding entrepreneurs who aspire to
venture into the HealthTech sector?
To be a health-tech entrepreneur,
patience is one of the key virtues that
an entrepreneur would need, among all
other competing virtues.
The reality is that the Healthcare
ecosystem is huge, with complex
legacy business models, systems, and
processes, and is risk-averse. That
means that it is fair to assume that
healthcare will move at a glacial pace
when it comes adopting break-through
technologies. So, a health-tech
entrepreneur needs to be mentally and
physically ready to dig-in for the long
haul. But once the technology has been
proven, it could be a very rewarding
and exciting journey to be a health-tech
entrepreneur.
Where do you envision your
organization to be in the long run
and what are your future goals?
We envision to be known as one of the
top 3 Clinical Natural Language
Processing (CNLP) Companies with
industry-leading platforms in Revenue
Cycle Management (RCM) and
Clinical Decision Support (CDS).
About the Leader and his Team
After first-hand experiences of the
inefficiencies and wastages in the US
healthcare system, Pinaki Dasgupta
brought his digital expertise in
Manufacturing and Aerospace
industries to the healthcare industry.
His keen focus and belief in client-
centricity defines the culture at
Hindsait.
Hindsait’s exceptional team of
physicians, nurses, data scientists,
software developers, and industry
leaders all work together to understand
its clients’ existing processes,
workflows, and pain-points via
multiple client discovery sessions.
Through these discovery sessions, the
Hindsait team identifies and prioritizes
enhancements of its existing utilities,
development of new features and
functionalities and innovate new ideas,
that can best address its clients’ pain
points and challenges. Such client-
centricity had enabled Hindsait to build
long-term client relationships on solid
foundations of mutual trust and
growth.

37. 10 Most Disruptive AI Companies Transforming Healthcare 2021
Ÿ Stay Curious
By tracking key aging biomarkers
(digital, blood and genetic markers)
alongside the actions that users take
daily, the service uses machine
learning tools to highlight what’s
working for people similar to them, to
slow their aging for maximizing health
span.
What are the prominent solutions
and products, that make your
company stand out from the
competition?
Ÿ Track your movement, nutrition,
mind, and recovery, both passively
and actively, via your smart phone
and wearables
Ÿ Your H Score (Humanity Score)
provides you with a daily score,
based on each positive action you
take. Earn points for workouts,
fasting, meditation, sleep tracking
and more.
Ÿ Your Rate of Aging and Biological
Age, are updated dynamically
based on your actions you take on a
daily basis, calculated by our AI
algorithms.
Ÿ Monitor your digital, blood and
genetic markers and learn what
actions are working, based on what
actions are working for others like
you.
Being an experienced leader, share
with us your opinion on how the
adaptation of AI in the healthcare
discipline has transformed the
industry and what more could be
expected in the near future?
AI and open data frameworks are
enabling the industry to solve a variety
of complete issues - such as what
causes us to age, how to early detect
disease, which combination of
biomarkers are most closely correlated
with a change in condition, or even
which drugs could be repurposed to
treat certain conditions. As more data
opens up to federated data analysis so
that we can train models on different
data sets, the faster we can identify
solutions to many unanswered health
challenges.
In our field, AI and machine learning
capabilities have helped scientists to
identify which biomarkers are most
closely correlated with all-cause
morbidity and all-cause mortality,
using digital, blood, DNA methylation
markers, amongst others. Thanks to
biobanks around the world that have
been tracking people’s health over
many years, data scientists have been
able to build models by extrapolating
the data across these longitudinal data
sets and then blindly testing them
against other data sets to validate their
predictive power.
We are only now at the beginning of a
huge wave of new scientific
discoveries in the health industry
thanks to AI and machine learning.
Google’s Deepmind AI, for example
cracked a 50-year-old problem of
protein folding, representing a huge
advance in understanding the
machinery of life itself.
Taking into consideration, the
current pandemic, and its impact on
global economies, how are you
driving your organization to sustain
operations and ensuring safety of
your employees at the same time?
We launched the company from the
get-go, to be remote-by-design. This
has enabled us to hire the top talent in
each field, without having to be limited
by geography. We have also invested in
developing a strong company culture
that is very much focused on our
values, and what impact we are
collectively making to help humanity
live healthier for longer and increase
our collective immunity.
Given the current pandemic – this
sense of purpose in mission has only
been amplified, given the risk of dying
or being hospitalized from COVID-19
is greatly increased if your biological
age is higher, or if you have any pre-
existing conditions.
Thanks to the help of a variety of tools
and methodologies, we have continued
to remain laser focused on that mission
whilst working remotely, also ensuring
we keep the safety and mental health
and wellbeing of our team in great
shape.
What would be your advice to
budding entrepreneurs who aspire to
venture into the HealthTech sector?
Do it! You’ll be entering a sector that is
both challenging to change but is ripe
for disruption. Humanity needs more
entrepreneurs working together to
collectively accelerate bringing health
and wellness solutions to humanity. We
are at a new watershed moment, where
health consciousness is the highest it
has ever been, so now is the time to
push forward systemic change and
bring about a variety of solutions –
particularly in the preventative health
space.
Where do you envision your
organization to be in the long run
and what are your future goals?
We hope that Humanity can impact
over 1 billion people, to live healthier
for longer, both as active members, but
also indirectly, as a result of us
bringing about new insights on what’s
working to slow people’s aging and
keeping us healthier for longer.
