SUBJECT:- ACCOMODATION OPERATIONS
CLASS : TY-BHMCT
PRN:-2019100034
SEAT NO:-2219730213
TYPE OF HOTEL : BUSINESS PROPERTY
1) LOBBY :
 COLOUR SCHEME :For the business property mostly neutral color scheme should
be used. colors like Gray, Brown ,Beige , black or white should be used as it gives
classy effect .use of this color helps to design perfect modern lobby.
Lighting plan:- The perfect hotel lobby will feel warm, welcoming and give guests a taste of the
hotel’s overall style in a space as frequently used as a hotel lobby, it’s important that you don’t sacrifice
practicality for style. Above all your guests should be able to move around easily with their luggage,
and find where they need to go.
 Floor finishes : Porcelain tiles are widely used for flooring in hotel lobbies for three
key reasons – durability, aesthetics, and functionality. Porcelain tiles come in a wide
range of styles, designs, shapes, and colors and they can match almost any interior
decor.
 Curtain : The Sheer curtains, which are also known as sheers are lightweight fabrics that cover over your
windows, soften your home's lighting, and add an instant infusion of style into your interior decor. Sheer
curtains give you a measure of privacy, but are also well-matched for a layered window treatment.
2) Banquet hall:-
 COLOUR SCHEME:- According to me color scheme for business hotel’s banquet hall
should be light color will look good in the banquet hall we can even call it neutral colors like
white, grey etc. or even single color will give good effect .
 Window : The banquet hall windows should contains full glass only there should be no
opening for the window.
 Floor finishes : Flooring should be carpet system in inside and tiles in outside per
functioning area.
 Lighting plan:- Mostly there are big chandeliers in the middle of the hall and the
soffit lighting work is done in entire hall or ballroom.
 Window Treatment : Sash curtain are used
Sash rods are slender curtain rods that are used in pairs, one at the top and one at the bottom with the curtain
fabric taut between them. Sash rods are secured to the door so the curtains move with the door when it is
opened or closed. Curtains are gathered on sash rods with varying degrees of fullness.
3) Guest room :-
 colour scheme : The guest room should contain cool and warm colour’s as guest comes to hotel for
relaxing and enjoy time he must feel good so cool colour must be used in guest room and not dark colours
as dark colours makes us feel depressed so must be avoided
 Lighting plan:
For the ceiling The lights directly mounted on the ceiling for the general illumination of the room or a
specific section of it are called ceiling lights.
 Window and treatment and curtain:- Now in the present time most of the guestroom in the hotel
has closed windows .
VALANCE is a form of window treatments that cover the uppermost part of the window and can be
hung alone or paired with window blinds or curtains They should never exceed one-sixth of the height of the
window and should be about 10-12 inches in depth.
.
 Floor finishes:- Mostly carpets are placed or
sometimes wooden flooring is done of the guest
room.
 Wall covering : The Fabric wall coverings which is a modern twist on traditional wallpaper, fabric wallpaper is
a do-it-yourself décor treatment that’s been catching on recently. Fabric panels are cut to fit the height of your
walls and attached with liquid starch
4) Restaurant :
 Colour scheme:- The neutral shades will look good and it gives a glossy look to the area and it will
help to maintain the view of the restaurant.
 Lighting plan : The Direct light is mostly used as it refers to lighting that strikes an area or object directly
from a light source Light shining onto an object is called direct lighting
Diffused light is a soft light with neither the intensity nor the glare of direct light. It is scattered and
comes from all directions it is mostly used of night operated restaurants.
 Window and treatment : Like the doors, there are a wide variety of window types geared to
restaurants. Single- and double-hung windows are the most common types which are used while planning to have
less open area as compared to casement.
 Floor finishes : Laminate floors are among the best restaurant floors because they are durable and resistant to
scratching and slipping. They are also relatively easy to maintain, requiring only a damp mop to remove stains,
which is important for this type of business
5) Bar :
 Colour scheme:- A dark color scheme is excellent for creating intimate and romantic settings, which is
perfect for some bars, trendy restaurants, and romantic bistros.it is now become an trend to adopt this type of
color scheme.
 Lighting plan : Diffused lighting is suitable for the bar and it is mostly used.
Ambient lighting is also great for restaurants, bars and breweries alike because it's basic, because it can be
created using almost any type of lighting fixture.
 Floor finishes : Mostly the wooden flooring is used in the bars for the
flooring.
 Wall covering : The wall covering in the bar can be any thing that matches the surrounding it can wallpaper , paint ,
some kind of design .

 Color scheme:- In the gymnasium mostly there are 2-3 colors in variations and the scheme
should be good and motivating and should feel energetic to guest while he/she is in gym.

 Window:- Mostly fixed glass is there in gym no opening is there for window straight hung Drapers are
normally lined with another lining fabric: These can be used with balance or cornice, but the window will
seem taller without a decorative heading.

which prevents mould and mildew growth.it is created In combination with air, soft rubber is created.
 Wall covering : Motivational wallpapers are used in the gym or paint is
