9. Theme or focus of image & reasons for choice
The focus of my images was to promote Salford quays in a positive way and attract
people to come and visit Salford quays. Or the theme of my photos I have captured
thing which when you visit Salford quays you will no doubts see, I haven’t edited them
a lot as o wanted them t look as natural as possible.
• The main focus of image number one was the building which is next to the
lowery as when you go to Salford quays you will no doubt see it.
• The main focus of image number two was some building from one side of
Salford quays across the water.
• The main focus of image number three was the brige near the lowery.
• The main focus of image number four was the Hilton in the distane across the
• water.
• The main focus of image number five was the bridge.
• The main focus of image number six was media city.
• The main focus of image number seven was part of the BBC studios.
• The main focus of image number eight was part of Salford quays from an
point which not many people see it.
• The main focus of image number nine was the brigde which is near the tram
stop wh is one of the ways into Salford quays.
• The main focus of image number ten was the part of the building attached to
the lowery.
Techniques used
When taking thses photos I used rule of third, appature and shutter speed so I took
the photos in the way I wanted, I never really had any idea of what I wanted to take
photos of when I samw something I felt was iconic to Salford quays I took a photo.
Strengths & suggested improvements
The stregnths of my images:
• The colour.
• The angel of most of them.
• The way they give you a different perstective of Salford quays.
The weakness:
• Some are slightly un focused.
• Some are not very clear as to what is the main focus of the image.
Editing details
When editing these photos I kept the editing simple by only changing the contrast
and adding some variation to add more of certain types of colours to give my
images the feel I wanted such as wintery or autumn.
