4. ABSTACT :-
Electrical energy is very important for everyday life and spine
for the industry. Electricity power is indiscipline to our daily life
with increasing need of electricity, the energy robbery is also
growing, electricity theft is a hassle that keeps to plague
electricity region across the country, the goal of this project is
to design one of these gadget with a purpose to try and reduce
the illegal use of power and also lessen the probabilities of
theft. In this research we have focused on the most common
practice of stealing power which is tapping or tampering the
meter. The system has been designed to detect the theft, also
inform and this model try to achieve theft control.
6. INTRODUCTION :-
An electric meter is a device used for measuring the amount of electrical
energy supplied to a commercial or residential building. Due to the increasing
cost of electricity, security and tampering in electric meters. Moreover
tampering in electric meter and energy theft have become common. Electric
meters can be manipulated, thus causing them to stop,even by passing the
meter. Consumers those who are tamper with electric meter, effectively and
efficiently use power without paying for it. This theft or fraud can be dishonest
as well as dangerous .Electric meter security is made as major issue in many
countries today. Wireless Power Theft Monitoring Unit use remote monitoring
method to prevent power theft. It is necessary to present this method to
electricity department. This Unit also use Radio technology to monitor wireless
meter reading. If there will be difference in wireless reading and installed meter
reading, then it is easy to detect theif.
8. EXISTING METHOD :-
• In previous method it is not capable of detecting the exact location from
where the power is being stolen.
• Lot of wires are used for connecting module.
• If implemented on a large scale , takes a lot of time and more inputs.
• No , any technology are implemented in existing method for the detection of
power theft.
• All though 30% of power is theft is occurring and here is no electricity theft
can be controlled in existing method.
9. The proposed system describes how to prevent the Tampering of Meter
and Bypassing the Meter. The principle gain of this device over the alternative
systems proposed in advance is that the structures proposed formerly useful
discover power theft but do no longer stop it. The Microcontroller compares the
voltages and if any considerable difference is observed, it disconnects the
electricity immediately the usage of the Relay and additionally sends the
information to the power board through GSM module can give message and
theft can be detected. While this system prevents the theft which means if the
defaulter attempts to theft the energy by way of bypassing or tampering, he will
now not be capable of use the electricity. Consumer can only get right of entry to
the power via proper energy meter.

• It is very economical as compared to electricity losses.
• Individual power theft can be calculated.
• Does not affect the power transfer capability of the
line and save power for future generations.
• It is very beneficial for farmer and also electricity
Provider Company.
14. APPLICATIONS:-
• Used in power distribution , Transmision system.
• We can use at the society if large amount of power
theft is happen.
