2. The International Publishing Corporation (IPC) was formed in
1963 following the merge of three leading magazine publishers,
George Newnes, Oldham Press and Fleetway Publications. The
Ipc try to include a wider variety of audiences to the company,
like in 2010 there were more audiences on the men and the upper
class of women.
3. The IPC have been associated with different magazines over the
years.
1970’s – 2000’s:
-Supporting gun
-Motor caravan
-Wedding and home
-Country homes and interiors
-Classic boats
-Practical parenting
4. Now the IPC have a very wide range of genres and different
magazines to suit different people and to have a wider audience.
-Country pursuits and equestrian – country life, eventing.
-Fashion and beauty – in style, look.
-Home interest – Beautiful kitchens, Style at home.
-Lifestyle – Essentials, Wallpaper.
-Sports and leisure – Amateur gardening, Cycle spot.
-Teen – teen now.
-TV entertainment – Soap life, What’s on TV?
-Women’s weeklies – Good to know recipes, Pick me up.
-Young men and music – NME, Uncut.
5. I would use IPC because it has a wide audience and
has a range of different genres. It is a massive company
therefore lots of people read magazines from this big
company. If I used IPC I would get a mass audience
because IPC has a mass audience, also some of the
genres I am looking at doing IPC don’t currently do it,
so it will create a whole new branch will get more
audience for IPC itself and my magazine.
