LESSSON PLAN
Reciprocal teaching is not just about having students repeat directions or ask questions of
their classmates. Reciprocal teaching also emphasizes sustained opportunities for complex
language use. What opportunities will you create for students to practice with the different
functionslistedbelow? How will you support studentproduction e.g. by using the board, by
modeling the language function you want them to engage in, etc. How will you provide
feedback?

WARM UP: Start the class by asking students about how they feel. Ask them a couple of
questionsaboutwhat theydidyesterday,sothat theywill recycle the grammarofsimple past,
as well as the vocabulary learned.
> VOCABULARY
Practice the vocabularywithstudents,startingwithquestionsaboutwhattheyliketodointheir
free time orwhattheydidduringthisquarantine. Brainstormdifferentideasandafterthat,start
reading the examples shownin the vocabulary section. Ask whether they perform the activity
or not. Practice the pronunciationbyhavingstudentsrepeatafterthe teacher.Thengotopage
132, there’s more vocabulary there so practice that, just like the first vocabulary and ask and
answerabout performingthose activities,whethertheydiditinthe past or theywoulddoit in
the future.
> LISTENING COMPREHENSION
Have studentslookat the picturesandthen choose one studentto read the instructions.Then
explain again, model the activity and then play the audio, if necessary, have students listen
again. Ask for volunteers to complete the exercise by reading aloud their answers and asking
other classmates to continue.
> CLASSROOM
To practice more the vocabulary, ask students to go to Classroom and complete the last task
left,aboutmentioningtwooutdooractivitiestheylike andexplainingwhy.Make anycorrections
if needed and everything has to be through private message.
> CONVERSATION MODEL
Askstudentstodescribe whattheyseeinthe picture andthenlistentothe conversation.Based
on that, ask a couple of questionstocheck comprehension.Thenaskforvolunteerstopractice
the conversation changing some parts of the conversation.
> QUESTIONNAIRE
Explain to students that there is a satisfactionquestionnaire to complete aboutthe classes, so
send them the link and then give them some time to complete it.
> EXTENSION
Explain to students about the webpage FRIENDZONE and then tell themthat in this webpage,
people answerthe mainquestionthatisactivitiestheyperformedlastweekend.Playthe audio

2. for students, give them some time to ask questionsif they have any and then the teacher will
ask questions to check comprehension.
WRAPUP:Based on the reading,studentswill complete exercise two,give themsome time to
complete it or if it’s too difficult, complete altogether. Then have volunteers to participate.
