Introduction
Network Rail manages some of Britain’s biggest and busiest stations,
with over 850 million passengers passing through each year. Their
twenty managed stations – which include Bristol Temple Meads,
Reading and eleven others in London – are some of Britain’s busiest and
biggest stations.
Quinn Infrastructure, as a building services specialist for mainline
rail was awarded in 2014, a five-year contract for Fire Suppression,
Detection & Public Address Voice Alarm Reactive and Planned
Maintenance at these stations. The aim being to ensure that these
major railway facilities are regularly maintained and upgraded in order
to provide the very best experience for rail passengers.
Having successfully delivered the fire suppression and detection
maintenance at these major railway stations between 2014 and 2019,
Quinn Infrastructure’s performance was duly rewarded, with a further
year’s extension until 2020 to their contract.

Introduction
Northumberland Park Depot (NPD) was brought into use in the late 1960’s
to stable and service London Underground’s (LU) Victoria Line trains. NPD is
the only depot currently serving the Victoria line. The hot water and heating
system at the depot also dated back to the 1960’s and consisted of three oil
fired boilers, subsidiary pipework and heat emitting panels. Due to their age,
the gas oil boilers failed and most elements of the old heating and hot water
system were beyond feasible economic repair. Therefore, a new Boiler House
was required to serve heating and hot water requirements of the train depot.
Quinn Infrastructure tendered for the works under an NEC Option A Contract
and were successfully awarded the contract for the full Mechanical, Electrical
and Power (MEP) design, install, commission and set to work of all the primary
heating, hot water and associated plant systems at London Underground’s
NPD Depot.
An M&E Performance Specification and associated outline drawings were
provided to Quinn Infrastructure in order to produce fully detailed design
solutions for the MEP services to suit the operational and performance
requirements of the Depot. The exact requirements for final loads were fully
calculated by Quinn Infrastructure and their design team and agreed with
LU. During the detailed design phase, Quinn Infrastructure undertook all
necessary site surveys, stakeholder liaison and meetings with LU to progress
the design ensuring that the requirements of the Performance Specification
and LU were fully adhered to in readiness for the installation works.

We provide an all-encompassing, ‘whole lifecycle’ offering to clients, providing fully integrated Building Services solutions for the UK Rail and Utilities networks. The company brings its roots from three decades of successful trading as MJ Quinn Integrated Services, having started its first railway contract in 1989 at Kings Cross, working alongside London Underground on the upgrade of fire systems within their transport network.

Within first year, works for LUL had begun. 2009 Became supplier for Network Rail at Euston speciliasing in Fire and Electrical project works. 2010 Awarded Mechanical, Electrical and Maintenance contract on Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Victoria and Sub-surface lines. Awarded part of the fibre CONNECT contract, a four year £30m project to install the LAN for London. 2002 Awarded Network Rail Managed Stations Fire Maintenance. 2015 Business was restructured and the Rail Infrastructure Division was renamed as Quinn Infrastructure, to target the Rail and Utilities markets. 2018 Received Network Rail Principal Contractors Licence 2017 Successful Fire Maintenance contract for London Underground. 2006 Quinn Infrastructure branding and delivery model updated. New offices opened in Birmingham and Cardiff. Utilities Division achieved SPAA AMI accreditation. 2019 Utilities Division became DFT OLEV accredited. New office opened in Manchester. 2020

We offer additional value through ECI constructability advice, providing a whole life asset management approach to future maintenance. We work together with our customers to optimise the value and life of their assets as well as their effectiveness. We assist organisations by integrating management, engineering and financial decision- making across the asset lifecycle and sharing with them data and lessons learned from previous works. We consider the entire asset lifecycle, from level of service or performance standards on through procurement, maintenance, operations, rehabilitation, and replacement planning. Their twenty managed stations – which include Bristol Temple Meads, Reading and eleven others in London – are some of Britain’s busiest and biggest stations. Quinn Infrastructure, as a building services specialist for mainline rail was awarded in 2014, a five-year contract for Fire Suppression, Detection & Public Address Voice Alarm Reactive and Planned Maintenance at these stations. The aim being to ensure that these major railway facilities are regularly maintained and upgraded in order to provide the very best experience for rail passengers. Having successfully delivered the fire suppression and detection maintenance at these major railway stations between 2014 and 2019, Quinn Infrastructure’s performance was duly rewarded, with a further year’s extension until 2020 to their contract. NPD is the only depot currently serving the Victoria line. The hot water and heating system at the depot also dated back to the 1960’s and consisted of three oil fired boilers, subsidiary pipework and heat emitting panels. Due to their age, the gas oil boilers failed and most elements of the old heating and hot water system were beyond feasible economic repair. Therefore, a new Boiler House was required to serve heating and hot water requirements of the train depot. Quinn Infrastructure tendered for the works under an NEC Option A Contract and were successfully awarded the contract for the full Mechanical, Electrical and Power (MEP) design, install, commission and set to work of all the primary heating, hot water and associated plant systems at London Underground’s NPD Depot. An M&E Performance Specification and associated outline drawings were provided to Quinn Infrastructure in order to produce fully detailed design solutions for the MEP services to suit the operational and performance requirements of the Depot. The exact requirements for final loads were fully calculated by Quinn Infrastructure and their design team and agreed with LU. During the detailed design phase, Quinn Infrastructure undertook all necessary site surveys, stakeholder liaison and meetings with LU to progress the design ensuring that the requirements of the Performance Specification and LU were fully adhered to in readiness for the installation works.
