The organization collects and transforms ocean plastic by collaborating with fishermen and brands using a "Trash Catcher" net attached to boats that collects floating debris. The debris is sorted and upcycled into new products to raise awareness about reuse and innovation. Their mission is to remove ocean debris through the trash catchers and connecting stakeholders while reducing the need for new raw materials extraction by using recycled ocean plastic.
4. About Us
Our Foundation collects and transforms Ocean
Plastic by collaborating with fishermen and brands.
Using a unique "Trash Catcher", which can be
attached to small and middle-sized boats, we
collect ocean floating on the water's surface.
Partnering with business we sort and upcycle
collected marine litter to create meaningful
products telling a story of reuse and innovation.
Our broad network of plastic material experts
enable us to guide our partners to ensure quality
and avoid pitfalls. Based in Brussels, we also
operate in the Americas and Asia.
6. The least movement is of
importance to all nature. The
entire ocean is affected by a
pebble.

7. Our Mission:
Transforming
Ocean Plastic
Our “Ocean Trash Catchers” are floating nets made
from coated fabrics that can collect floating debris
without significant bycatch, as the trawl only
extends into the waters by 70cm. The net can be
attached to small and large boats, or, if the body of
water is a river, be statically placed so that currents
lead to natural collection of floating debris
8. The Process After collection, the net is lifted onto shore and
contents emptied into a container going to the
nearest reccycling plants. Once there, ocean debris
is sorted, washed and turned into pellets. These are
used in combination with other raw material to
create upcycled items, either flexible or solid
plastic.
9. Our Team Made up of material, industry and communucation experts with
close ties to European policy makers, located in Brussels EU
Quarter. Offices in Belgium, the Dominican Republic and Turkey.
10. Our Impact
1. We bring industry, fishermen
and civic leaders together
Connecting Stakeholders
3. If Ocean Plastic is used for
the creation of new products,
less material needs to
extracted
Using less resources
2. Successfully tested in
numerous locations, we aim
to install the trawl in waste
hotspots around the world
Removing Ocean Debris
4. Through our ocean products,
we offer sustainable options
and educate consumers on
both the issue and solutions
at hand.
Raising Awareness
11. The
Trash Catcher
Thierry Thomazeau, inventor of the Trash Catcher,
received the French Legion d’Honneur in
2003 after his involvement in a major cleaning- up
operation. Partners living in coastal cities and near
waste-polluted rivers can install the net as longterm
answer to floating debris, no longer having
to depend on handpicking via beach cleanups.
