Waste Free Oceans is dedicated to transforming ocean plastics by collaborating with fishermen and business to collect and upcycle ocean plastic. We remove floating debris and return it to shore, where it can be sorted, cleaned and recycled. Partnering with recyclers, converters and brands, we then use the waste to create new beautiful products - We hence fish ocean trash and then make intelligent use of it

3. ITS BOTH AN
ENVIRONMENTAL

QUESTION
The Ocean remains one of the most expansive, mysterious and diverse places on Earth.
We do not sufficiently protect it.

4. OUR
MISSION:
TRANSFORM
OCEAN
PLASTIC
Plastic debris in the ocean
is an emerging global
environmental issue, with
densities up to 580,000
pieces per square
kilometer documented and
particularly high along
coastal areas. As global
plastic production is
increasing exponentially,
doubling roughly every 11
years, between 2016 and
2026, humans will make as
much plastic as has been
manufactured between the
1950s and 2016.
placed in a river so that
currents lead to natural
collection of floating
debris. Once full, the net
can be lifted from the
water with the use of a
crane, emptying the
contents into a container
for waste sorting and
recycling. The waste is
thus not only reduced, but
also reused.
Waste Free Oceans
provides an important
piece in the puzzle of
practical solutions to the
issue of marine litter. Our
Ocean Trash Catchers are
floating nets made from
coated fabrics that can
collect floating debris
without significant by-
catch, as the trawl only
extends into the waters by
70cm. The net can be
attached to small and large
boats, or, if the body of
water is a river, statically
5. We tested the catcher in
fifteen locations and saw
how well it works. That is
why we want to bring the
technology to coastal
regions with high waste
accumulation around the
world.
The net offers a longterm
solution to floating debris,
can easily be attached to
boats and need little
personal if placed in a
river. An agreement with
local municipalities is to
be reached that the trawl
can be used in the long
run.

6. Who we work with
Waste Free Oceans collaborates with fishermen and local
communities to collect waste as they are present in the
fishing areas all year and play a major role in environmental
surveillance on a local level. Their familiarity with water
conditions as well as necessary technical knowledge and tools
such as vessels make them ideal partners in collecting marine
litter. Boats with a length of 8-9 m can navigate the trawls
conditions up to level three of the Beaufort Scale
WFO's philosophy is one
of making optimal use of
our planet's resources by
upcycling the waste and
reducing the need to
extract resources when
there is plenty available
for free.
7. COLLABORATING
WITH BUSINESS TO
DRIVE CHANGE
Brands and manufacturers have the opportunity to offer consumers smart product choices
and educate them on hands-on solutions to the issue of plastic in our oceans. To realize
this, WFO connects you to its trusted network of recyclers and converters so that the
product meets highest safety and quality standards. Our team consist of plastic experts
and can guide you through the intricacies of turning ocean waste into rewarding items.
Our partnerships are based on the spirit of cooperation and collaboration in tackling one
of our most pressing global issues.
8. The world is ready and waiting for products
offering environmental solutions rather
than more challenges. People are
demanding sustainable choices - and are
ready to pay for them.
Brands get it, and some of the best are
already working with us. Others are looking
for solutions like ours - because they know
where the future lies.
Instead of extracting more natural
resources to produce ever more plastic
products, why not make use of what's
already freely available in our oceans today?
Plastic collected in oceans can be combined
with other recycled material to create new
goods.
We join hands with companies big and small
who would like to send a clear message of
intelligent use of our resources and
protecting ocean environments.
Product can be either sold or produced as a
gift. PET, HDPE, Polyester and Nylon are
most commonly found in marine litter,
LDPE to a limited degree.
