and Output device, Storage unit, and the
Central Processing Unit(CPU) are examples
of Hardware.

3. Input Device
Devices that accept input from
the user and convert it to a form
that can be understood by the
Computer.

4. Magnetic Ink Character Reader
A magnetic ink character reader is used for
entering special characters printed in
magnetic ink (containing magnetizable
particles of iron oxide) into the computer.
This technique is called Magnetic Ink
Character Recognisation ( MICR).
Optical Character Reader
An Optical Character Reader is used for
entering text into a computer . First, the
Optical Character Reader produces a
digital image of the text . Then ,
character-recognition software is used to
convert this digital image into character
that can be stored and processed by the
computer. This technique is called Optical

5. Card Reader
These are used for accessing the information stored on various
types of card , such as magnetic strip cards and smart carts .
Credit cards are example of magnetic strip cards . The strip
card can contain up to 60 characters (numbers or digits)of
information, which is stored magnetically.

An LCD Projector takes the input

large screen. It is commonly used in

Plotter
A plotter is an output device that is
used for creating high quality graphics
, visuals , charts, graphs, tables, or
diagram. Plotter use ink, pens or jet of
ink to create graphics on paper or
polyester film.

A set of computer programs that are needed for
running or operating a computer system
effectively.
Or
Software is a set of program, which is designed to
perform well designed function. A program is a
sequence of instruction written to solve a
particular problem.

manage task such as controlling different operations,
moving data in and out of the computer, and executing
application programs. System software can be classified
into the following four categories: Operating system,

A operating system is a master control program that runs
the computer. It controls the flow of signals from the
central processing unit to the various parts of a
computers. some popular operating system are ms-
windows, ubuntu, and mac os x.

A PROGRAM THAT TRANSLATE ONE STATEMENT OF A HIGH-LEVEL

A PROGRAM THAT TRANSLATES AN ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE
PROGRAM INTO A MACHINE LANGUAGE PROGRAM.
