• Sandra Schiff, PhD, oversees training and coaching
services at Health Mate, Inc. Concurrently, Dr.
Sandra Schiff serves as an adjunct faculty member
of the Wayne State University (WSU) School of
Social Work.
Shaping the future of social work, WSU maintains
accreditation with the Council on Social Work
Education (CSWE). The CSWE, as of the beginning
of 2016, recognizes 511 and 245 bachelor’s and
master’s degree programs, respectively, as
accredited social work programs.
3. Council on Social Work Education
• The organization’s Commission on Accreditation
determines eligibility and certification based on a
candidate’s adherence to the Educational Policy and
Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Among the topics
outlined in EPAS is explicit curriculum. Explicit
curriculum covers formal educational structure, core
competency, professionalism, ethics, diversity, research,
and signature pedagogy. The latter gives students the
ability to use their skills and education in the field.
Students act as practitioners and demonstrate social
work competency under the supervision of an instructor.
