Revision on plants lesson
Q1 ) what are the parts of the plant ?
Roots , stem ( shoot) , leaves and flower
Q2) what is the function of each ?
Roots : holds the plant into the soil / absorbs water
and nutrients from the soil
Shoot : holds the plant upright , it takes water around
the plant
Leaf : makes the food through photosynthesis
Flower :attract insects for pollination (Reproduction )
Revision on plants lesson
Q5) what is pollination ?
-Traveling of pollen from male part to the female part
-It has 2 types ( cross and self )
- It can happen by : human – insects and birds – wind
– water
Q6) what is Fertilization?
- Joining of the pollen and egg cell to make a seed
- The pollen sticks to the stigma –makes pollen tube
through the style until it reaches the ovary
Revision on plants lesson
Q7) what is Seed dispersal ?
-travelling of the seed from the ovary to the soil
- It can happen by : water – dropping – animals –
explosion- wind
Q8) what is Germination ?
- Developing of the seed into a new plant
- Seed absorbs water and coat splits , root grows
then shoot then leaves towards sunlight then
flower
- For germination : the plant needs nutrients – space
– good temp. – water

Q1 ) what is the Sun ?
It is a roughly spherical star, it is the largest body
in the solar system , it gives us heat & light
Q2 ) what is the Earth ?
It is a roughly spherical planet , it has an
imaginary line passing through its center ( axis
)
Q3 ) what is the Moon?
It is a dark body moving around the earth in 28 days reflecting the light
of the sun
It is a natural satellite
Q4) what is the rotation ? And what is revolution ?
Rotation : when earth moves around its axis & this makes day & night
Revolution : when earth moves around the sun & this makes seasons
Q5 ) what are the objects that move in the solar system ?
Comet , asteroids & dwarf planets
Q6 ) what is Meteoroid?
Very small object in space
When enters the atmoshpere : meteor
When hits the earth : meteroite
Q7 ) what is the galaxy?
It is a group of millions of stars
