Carana Corporation is a US company
responsible for the implementation of the US
Government’s Financing Ghanaian
Agricultural Project (USAID- FinGAP)2. As
one of three consultants on the project, I
facilitate finance for Small Medium including
Large Enterprises (SMiLEs). In achieving my
component’s outcomes, I build the capacity of
the Financial Institutions through training and
short term technical assistance among others
including the introduction of Risk mitigation
tools for credit.
I am also a member of the Grant Evaluation
Committee (GEC) which evaluates bids for
Fixed Obligation Grants awards to
Participating Financial Institutions. These
financial institutions comprise Microfinance
Companies, Rural and Community Banks,
Universal Commercial Banks, Finance Houses
as well as impact investors. I also offer post
award training to grantees and approve
qualifying investments for grant awards.
Other responsibilities include the preparation
and implementation of annual work plans
(including budgets) for the Financial Sector
Support Unit component of the project
