I am a professional with over 27 years’ experience in Auditing, Financial
Advisory, Treasury Management, Plant Financial Operations, Commercial
Financing, Area Financing and Compensation & Benefits Management. I trained
as an auditor/accountant with Adewuyi Brothers & Company, a firm of
Chartered Accountants for a period of 3 ½ years before joining a Commodity Finance
Company - Januario Jorgio Nigeria Limited as an Accountant in May 1991. I worked briefly in
this company for a period of 12 months and later joined a Finance Institution in May 1992 as
Assistant Manager – Finance & Administration for a period of 20 months.
I joined Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (then Plc) in January 1994 as Treasury
Accountant and supervised a team of 5 accounting staff. In January 1995 I was appointed as
Foreign Exchange & Taxes Manager with the supervision of 12 accounting supervisors/staff
and team lead for the re-engineering of the Treasury Function between April 2000 and
August 2001. At the completion of the Finance Project, I was appointed as the Finance
Manager of the Owerri Plant from October 2001 to January 2005. As a finance manager, I
supervised a team of 8 accountants and managed the financial information of the plant as a
finance business partner to all the functions within the plant. In February 2005, I was
transferred to the corporate office as the Plant Finance Operations Manager and later
Commercial Finance Manager, a finance business partner to the Commercial Function. In
October 2008, I was appointed Area Finance Manager supervising/managing the finance
function in 7 plants out of the then 13 plants/manufacturing locations.
In January 2011, I was transferred to Human Resources Function as Compensation and
Benefits Manager, supervised a team of 6 Human Resources and Rewards Experts. This
position, I held till April 2015, when I voluntarily resigned my appointment for professional
practice.
I studied Industrial Relations and Personnel Management at the University of Lagos and
graduated in July 1987. I also sat for the Professional Examinations of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and got qualified in May 1992. I was admitted as an
2. Associate Member of the Institute in September 1993 and awarded a Fellowship
membership of the Institute in September 2004.
I was also admitted as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria
in October 1994 and licenced as a Tax Practitioner by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of
Nigeria in March 2016.
As a graduate of Industrial Relations & Personnel Management and a human resource
practitioner, I was admitted as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel
Management under the Human Resources Practitioners’ Route in October 2012.
Compensation and Benefits Manager
A strong contributor to the development of new compensation strategies through creative
input combined with data analysis and a deep understanding of the company’s future
challenges (bonus plans, market position, salary range design, and Pay mix analysis).
Designed & delivered Remuneration & Benefits strategies for the organization.
Implemented a grading structure based on company methodology.
Worked closely with HR – Capability Manager to design and deliver retention plan/schemes
based on the company’s Reward Systems.

Area Finance Manager
As Area Finance Manager, a senior management position, he was charged with the
responsibilities, among which are the followings -
Managed the activities of the finance function (centrally) of 7 Plants out of the total 13
plants that existed at that time.
Participated at the monthly plant Operations review in each region.
Managed the finance staff human resources related issues within the 13 plant locations and
head office.
Represented management at the Audit Review meetings and management meetings.
Coordinated the performance appraisal processes of finance staff within the assigned
regions.
Supported Commercial Functions as Commercial Projects Accountant in the implementation
of the MDC and Mega Outlet Distribution.
Supported Commercial Function as Finance Business Partner – Analysis of Rebate Payable,
Evaluation of Credit proposals and representing finance function at the commercial
meetings
Commercial Finance Manager
Partnered with the Commercial function for a period of 3 years before his appointment as
Area Finance Manager in 2008.
Managed over N3 billion credit facilities to the dealers.
Appraised Credit Facilities proposals and made recommendations as appropriate.
Reviewed and made recommendations for the monthly payment of Rebate and
Commission payable to the dealers.

Plant Finance Manager
In October 2001, I was appointed Plant Finance Manager (Owerri) and performed excellently
in this capacity. For 3 consecutive years, Owerri Plant was adjudged Profit making Plant.
Led the team that implemented effective Cost Management and Control
implementation.
Led the Internal Control Team of the Plant that resulted in achieving Satisfactory
Audit Rating for 2 consecutive years.
Implemented Internal Control recommendations from the Re-Engineering Workshop
that resulted in changing the Plant from a loss making to the profit making centre.
Consistently achieved profit growth within 3 years by 15% and reduction in Opex by
20% against budget on a yearly basis.
Partnered with other functions within the Plant in process of cost management and
advisor on improvement processes.
Treasury Accountant/Foreign Exchange Manager
Managed bank reconciliation of over 60 bank accounts, noting exceptions
particularly the interest and bank charges by the bank and resolving all exceptions.
Achieved within a period of 12 months the company recorded savings of 300 million
Naira from excess charges by the bank.
Within a period of 2 years he managed the Treasury Department and the company
moved from Overdraft of N4 billion to a company that invested $1 million and
N1billion in Fixed Deposits and well over 2 billion cash deposit.
Processed documentation for the importation of raw materials and equipment well
over $500 million.
Facilitated immediate recovery of the un-utilized forex with the banks and ensured
timely reconciliation of import documentation.
5. Project: Re-Engineering of Finance Function
Led the team that re-organized the Treasury Function thus reducing the number of
banks from 23 banks to 6 major banks.
Developed various Treasury Policies and Procedures for the Company.
