1: WHAT IS NVIVO AND HOW IT CAN HELP THE
QUALITATIVE RESEARCHERS FOR DATA ANALYSIS?
 NVIVO is qualitative data analysis software,
intended to help you in organizing, analyzing
and finding insight in unstructured or qualitative
data like: interviews, open-ended survey
responses, articles, social media and web
content.
NVIVO is the ultimate solution when your work
is time consuming, hard to navigate and difficult
to manage. It helps to reveal connections in
approach that are not possible to do manually.
NVIVO is being used largely by academic
institutes, government, commercial, health
researchers across a wide range of field.
2: WHAT ARE NODES AND CASES?
 Node:
 A node is a set of references regarding a particular matter, place, person or other
area of interest. You collect the references by 'coding' sources such as interviews,
focus groups, articles or survey results.
 For instance, while exploring your sources (documents, datasets, pictures, video or
audio) you can code any work linked to 'illegal construction practices' at the
node illegal construction. After that, when you open the node by double-clicking it in
List View, you can spot all the references at once.
 Case:
 Cases are nodes that signify ‘units of observation'—for example, the people you
interviewed or the population you studied. Your task may have case nodes for
people, places, organizations, events or other entities. Cases vary from other nodes
since they could have variables such as age, gender or location. Using queries, you
could contrast cases regarding these variables.
 Applying a case involves:
 Creating a case node
 Organizing the case node and conveying attributes
 Coding related content at the case node
 For instance—you may create a case node for a participant called Ali, allocate
variables for age, gender and education, and after that code all Ali’s content at the
3: WHAT IS THE ROLE OF AUTO CODING
TECHNIQUE?
 NVIVO offers diverse approaches for you to
auto code your documents. This technique
gives a fastest way to organize dataset into
nodes. Coding is created to speed up the
process of coding for the large volume of
content. It allows us to do coding quickly in
which we can then evaluate and refine. You
can auto code through: Paragraph styles,
Paragraphs, Existing coding patterns,
Themes or sentiment.
4: ELABORATE THE FUNCTIONS OF TEXT SEARCH
AND WORD FREQUENCY QUERY?
 In NVIVO system, Text search explore the
context, use and meaning of words. Its function
is to look at the concepts that hold parallel
statements or words. For instance if we look for
for the word ‘game, by clicking on text search
query we can find words with same meaning.
While the word frequency is used to look at the
most commonly used words in your source.
 If we would like to see what words people
exercise most often in reaction to a specific
interview question, we run the word frequency
query to hit upon the answer.

  • 2. 1: WHAT IS NVIVO AND HOW IT CAN HELP THE QUALITATIVE RESEARCHERS FOR DATA ANALYSIS?  NVIVO is qualitative data analysis software, intended to help you in organizing, analyzing and finding insight in unstructured or qualitative data like: interviews, open-ended survey responses, articles, social media and web content. NVIVO is the ultimate solution when your work is time consuming, hard to navigate and difficult to manage. It helps to reveal connections in approach that are not possible to do manually. NVIVO is being used largely by academic institutes, government, commercial, health researchers across a wide range of field.
  • 3. 2: WHAT ARE NODES AND CASES?  Node:  A node is a set of references regarding a particular matter, place, person or other area of interest. You collect the references by 'coding' sources such as interviews, focus groups, articles or survey results.  For instance, while exploring your sources (documents, datasets, pictures, video or audio) you can code any work linked to 'illegal construction practices' at the node illegal construction. After that, when you open the node by double-clicking it in List View, you can spot all the references at once.  Case:  Cases are nodes that signify ‘units of observation'—for example, the people you interviewed or the population you studied. Your task may have case nodes for people, places, organizations, events or other entities. Cases vary from other nodes since they could have variables such as age, gender or location. Using queries, you could contrast cases regarding these variables.  Applying a case involves:  Creating a case node  Organizing the case node and conveying attributes  Coding related content at the case node  For instance—you may create a case node for a participant called Ali, allocate variables for age, gender and education, and after that code all Ali’s content at the
  • 4. 3: WHAT IS THE ROLE OF AUTO CODING TECHNIQUE?  NVIVO offers diverse approaches for you to auto code your documents. This technique gives a fastest way to organize dataset into nodes. Coding is created to speed up the process of coding for the large volume of content. It allows us to do coding quickly in which we can then evaluate and refine. You can auto code through: Paragraph styles, Paragraphs, Existing coding patterns, Themes or sentiment.

Its function is to look at the concepts that hold parallel statements or words. For instance if we look for for the word ‘game, by clicking on text search query we can find words with same meaning. While the word frequency is used to look at the most commonly used words in your source.  If we would like to see what words people exercise most often in reaction to a specific interview question, we run the word frequency query to hit upon the answer.
