words that show the
relationship between
a noun or pronoun
and other words in a
sentence.

 Example Sentences:

indicate when an action takes place.

 She goes to the gym at 6 AM.
 They have a meeting on Monday.

movement of an
action.
 Example Sentences:
 The bird flew

Example Sentences:
 We walked along the river.
 The airplane is flying toward
the mountains.
Definition: Prepositions of direction
indicate the path or route of an action.
Activity 2. I introduce myself
We will divide the group into pairs and each
person in the pair will have one minute to
introduce him/herself to the other and tell
him/her about his/her life
Then, each pair must introduce themselves as if
they were the other person, remembering
everything the classmate has told them and, in
addition, imitating their gestures and way of
speaking
Activity 3. Random words
One person will be asked to say a random
word and the rest of the group will be asked
to say words that are related to or evoke
memories of the classmate's word
When everyone has said a word, they will be
asked to get together in teams of 3 or 4 to
make a short story
This story will have to do with all the words
mentioned above. The premises will be the
following:
1. Define the relationship between the
characters
2. Follow a simple start-climax-ending
structure
3. Use all the words that have been said
Exercise 1: Identify Prepositions
Identify the prepositions in each sentence.
1. The cat is under the table.
2. She walked along the beach.
3. The book is on the shelf.
4. He is sitting between his two friends.
5. The keys are in the drawer.
6. The birds flew above the clouds.
7. She ran through the forest.
8. The ball rolled across the floor.
9. They live near the park.
10. The dog is behind the fence.
Exercise 2: Complete the Sentences
Complete each sentence with an appropriate preposition.
1. The plane flew __________ the mountains.
2. The cat jumped __________ the bed.
3. They stood __________ the bridge.
4. The sun sets __________ the horizon.
5. The restaurant is __________ the corner.
6. The river flows __________ the city.
7. The painting hangs __________ the wall.
