Introduction to Digital Marketing
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 18
Introduction to Digital Marketing All current innovation in marketing is through Digital Channels.
Digital Marketing is catapulting past analog. People are consuming more digital content daily – using their smart phones,
desktops computers, laptops, tablets, and more.
Digital Marketing means that you get a custom strategy that will boost your digital channels so that your business can
dominate.
According to me or as per my understanding there are two type of Digital Marketing
1. Digital Marketing. (Paid “Campaign through PPC” and Unpaid “SEO”) Digital marketing is cost-efficient. Though some
invest on paid ads online; however, the cost is still cheaper compared to traditional marketing. Data and results are easily
recorded. With Google Analytics and the insights tools offered by most social media channels, you can check on your campaigns at
any time
2. Traditional Marketing There are many facets of Traditional Marketing and examples might include tangible items such as
business cards, print ads in newspapers or magazines. It can also include posters, commercials on TV and radio, billboards and
brochures. Traditional marketing is anything except digital means to brand your product or logo. Another overlooked means of
traditional marketing is when people find a particular business through a referral or a network and eventually you build a
rapport with them.
What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 19
Search engine optimization is a methodology of strategies,
techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a
website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in
the search results page of a search engine (SERP) — including
Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines
What goes into SEO?
To understand what SEO really means, let's break that sentence
down and look at the parts:
•Quality of traffic. You can attract all the visitors in the world,
but if they're coming to your site because Google tells them
you're a resource for Apple computers when really you're a
farmer selling apples, that is not quality traffic. Instead you want
to attract visitors who are genuinely interested in products that
you offer.
•Quantity of traffic. Once you have the right people clicking
through from those search engine results pages (SERPs), more
traffic is better.
•Organic results. Ads make up a significant portion of many
SERPs. Organic traffic is any traffic that you don't have to pay
for.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 21
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are often confused with one another. While SEM
strategy and SEO tactics often go hand in hand, sometimes it’s tough knowing which is which. It’s not that you need one or
the other – no, you need both. If you’re having trouble getting your website to bring in sales leads, then keep reading.
Let’s run through how to maximize both SEM strategy and SEO strategy for your business.
WHAT IS SEO?
Search engine optimization is the most cost-friendly marketing investment you can make. If you
build content yourself, it’s free. Hire someone, and you’ll spend money on a salary, but not on any
sort of brand placement.
SEO involves the deliberate use of keywords, HTML tags, meta data and other content-related
or backend-oriented tactics to manipulate your rank on Google. The more authority you gain
through these SEO strategies, the higher your website shows in the Google search engine results
pages (SERPs). The higher your website, the better brand awareness, the higher the traffic and the
more consumers convert.
Part I “Second Part after SEM”
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 22
What is SERP (Search Engine Results Pages)?
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 23
Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) are the pages displayed by search
engines in response to a query by a searcher. The main component of
the SERP is the listing of results that are returned by the search engine in
response to a keyword query, although the pages may also contain
other results such as advertisements.
What is SERP analysis?
SERP (Search Engine Results Page) Analysis is the process of analyzing the
top web pages that rank for a specific keyword or topic. SEO and marketing
professionals use this information to determine the difficulty level of ranking
for a Google search. ... In short, it's time to analyze the search results.
1.Direct search results, consisting of links to sites. This is the natural issuance of
search engines, where sites are struggling for the highest positions. The search
results page contains, by default, 10 links, but the number can be changed in
the search settings;
2.Blocks with contextual advertising;
3.Small fields before search results. They can contain typing errors, a quick
response to a user request, a calculator, and so on;
4.Pictures are issued in response to a particular search query;
5.Related queries – the search query is refined. The user is offered word forms
or similar requests;
6.Elements of management – this includes links to go to the site, prompts
when entering a user request.
What is SERP tracking?
A SERP feature is any result on a Google Search Engine Results Page (SERP)
that is not a traditional organic result. The SERP Features section within Moz
Pro helps you to track what features are present for the keywords you
are tracking, as well as your presence (and your competitors' presence) in
those features.
What is SEM (Search Engine Marketing)?
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 24
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a form of Internet marketing that
involves the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in search
engine results pages (SERPs) primarily through paid advertising
What is difference between SEO and SEM?
The difference between SEO and SEM is simply that Search Engine
Optimization is part of Search engine marketing or Search marketing as it is
widely known. Both processes aim in increasing visibility in search engines. ...
It involves other methods that can get you more search engine visitors like
PPC advertising.
What is SEM strategy?
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
are often confused with one another. While SEM strategy and
SEO tactics often go hand in hand, sometimes it's tough knowing which is
which.
WHAT IS SEM?
SEM on the other hand, encompasses any strategy that involves gaining
traffic from search engines like Google and Bing. Along with SEO being
a tool, SEM encompasses paid placement such as pay-per-click (PPC) or
cost-per-click (CPC), paid inclusion that simply gets you ranked for a
price, and of course traditional ads placed on SERPs. All of these subsets
are unique and their tools perform different functions.
Part II “Just Below SEO Topic”
What is SEO and SEM Techniques?
SEM is a broader term than SEO, and is used to
encompass different options available to use a search
engine's technology, including paid ads. SEM is often
used to describe acts associated with researching,
submitting and positioning a website within search
engines
•Paid search ads
•Paid search advertising
•PPC (pay-per-click) *
PPC (pay-per-call) – some ads, particularly those served to mobile search users, may be
charged by the number of clicks that resulted in a direct call from a smartphone.
•CPC (cost-per-click) *
•CPM (cost-per-thousand impressions) *
Most search ads are sold on a CPC / PPC basis, but some advertising options may also
be sold on a CPM basis.

PAID VS. ORGANIC
The best answer for paid vs. organic search engine marketing is not a question of
which one is better. It is a matter of finding the right harmony between the two.
First, consider your budget. If you have no way of paying for a PPC or CPC
campaign (which can get pricey), then you’re probably going to want to stick
with SEO.
If you do have some leeway with your money, paid advertisements are worth a
shot. Because improvements are made to search engine algorithms constantly,
your SEO work often can be down-ranked from the changes. Paid SEM
investments on the other hand, are invincible against the updates, and will
maintain their original form for their entire lifespan.
A paid campaign will cost more, and as the data shows, return your dollar, but
it’s an upfront venture. If you want to increase website traffic immediately, some
form of paid SEM is your best option. But make sure that when someone gets to
your website, they can easily find what they are looking for and convert.
To ensure you see a return on your SEM investment, conduct a few marketing
tactics behind the scenes:
Testing
To ensure your marketing strategy works, you should be doing what every
good marketer or small business owner should be doing. Test and test again.
A/B testing or conversion optimization for your paid campaign is the most
effective way to improve your paid advertisement visibility and conversion
rate.
SHORT TERM VS. LONG TERM
Whether you should use paid placement or organic tactics depends
heavily upon your business objectives. Do you want to (or can you) pay
upfront, move a lot of products fast and hope for a return on your
investment? Or do you have time to slowly build a thriving brand
awareness to sell products?
For the short-term, it’s suggested that you utilize SEO, or a combination
of SEO with SEM strategies. Something like a CPC or PPC campaign
will deliver your site traffic immediately. But, stop the renewal license
for those paid ads, and the traffic ceases as well.
SEO on the other hand, is better for the long term. Because of the time-
involvement, including keyword research, content strategy and creation,
and backend tagging, SEO will be a much lengthier process. But, as long
as you stick to the strategy, it’s something that will help you thrive
organically for a long time.
Research
You’re going to want to narrow down you your brand will be speaking to.
Who is your SEO target market and where do they hang out online? How
will you speak to them and why will they tune in to what you and your brand
are saying?

video files and audio files), submitting them to relevant sites will help your content
travel further, and ultimately drive links back to your site.
Encourage the mashup – In a world of co-creation, it pays to be more open about
letting others use your content (within reason). YouTube's idea of providing code
to cut and paste so you can imbed videos from their site has fueled their growth.

(ORM) is a bit broader of a term, and is used to specifically manage the online
reputation of a person, place, thing, site, brand, etc.
Online reputation management (ORM) is about improving or restoring
your name or your brand's good standing. This is by countering,
weakening or eliminating the negative material found in the Internet –
defeating it with more positive material to improving your credibility and
customers' trust in you.
How do I protect my online reputation?

2.Registering your name as a domain.
3.Secure your name across all social platforms.
4.Publish regular content.
5.Get active on social media.
6.Claim and verify your Google listing.
7.Manage online reviews.

Content Marketing (Content is King)

Content is king’ is a phrase that we’ve all heard, and might even be
sick of hearing. You probably know how important content is to the
survival of your businesses in the digital age but still, considering
the fact that only 9% of B2B marketers consider their content marketing
to be effective, and that only 27% of all marketers have a documented
content strategy, it becomes very vital to remind ourselves of just the
role content plays in the growth of a business.
We will discuss 15 benefits of content marketing, to reinforce the
importance of putting time and effort into a content marketing strategy.
1. Better SEO
In the past, “keyword stuffing” was a way to dupe search engines into ranking your page
higher in their results. now, search engines like Google have advanced algorithms that allow
them to accurately assess content quality. When you produce high-quality content
consistently, you give Google more opportunities to put your page in front of people who
are searching for topics in your niche. Content marketing benefits your business
by improving your SEO and therefore your visibility.
2. Increased Website Traffic
With consistency in delivering great content comes increased website traffic. The more
relevant and valuable content you create in your niche, the more people are likely to find
your website, and the more likely they are to keep coming back for future questions. The
more website traffic and repeat visitors you get, the more your overall website traffic can
grow over the long term.

3. More Leads
Have you ever purchased anything without first gathering information on it? Consumers today have access to tools and resources that
allow them to make careful purchasing decisions. As such, creating great content is singularly the most powerful way to generate
leads for your business. By providing information that offers readers insight into your products or services, you give them the
information they need to become a customer. Content about your products and services as well as about your area of expertise helps
to build trust, which helps to generate quality leads for your business.
4. More Sales
Creating content that engages your readers helps to increase your lead conversion, resulting in more sales for your business. Also,
given that more and more people are blocking ads on their browsers, content becomes the most vital way of communicating
the value that turns readers into buyers. The thing about great content is that it’s non-disruptive and naturally invites members of
your target audience to engage with your business.
5. Enhanced Brand Image
Good brands often earn the respect of consumers before they even make a purchase, simply through the quality of their content. In
this age of globalization, brand image is everything, and content facilitates brand image. With great content, you put yourself in
control of your business’s reputation and brand identity.
6. Greater Brand Authority
As mentioned above, it’s the age of globalization. Thanks to social media and other online developments leveling the playing field,
one business in a small town can actually be competing with thousands of other businesses all over the world. With so many
businesses vying for the audience’s attention, it takes an established footprint through great content to actually win the audience.
People are going to be more receptive to a brand they’ve read about than to one about which they have no prior information.

7. Increased Brand Loyalty
Brand loyalty is the bullseye. Content helps you gain customers first by converting readers to first-time buyers, and then continues on to influence those
first-time buyers to become repeat customers. Over time, content helps you cultivate among your customers an affinity to your brand and a preference
for yours over your competitors.
8. More Brand Visibility
There are millions of businesses striving to be seen by customers online. The only way to stand out from other businesses and establish your
brand as the go-to in a niche is by regularly interacting with your audience through great content. The more you address the concerns of your
audience through content, the more they see your brand and recognize you as an expert and thought leader in your niche.
9. Stronger Social Media Following
People will share your content if it solves a problem or satisfies a need. When a reader finds your content helpful, they share that content
others who might find it useful and before you know it, you gain more followers on social media who are eager to listen to what you’re
saying.
10. Improved Customer Relationships
Customer relationships have always been important, but are even more important in the digital age because several people rely on the opinion
of other people to make purchase decisions. Content is a great way to address the needs of your customers and tackle any form of issues they
might be having with your product or services. Use FAQ pages, blog posts, and other online resources to provide a superior experience for
customers, who won’t be able to help themselves from spreading the word about your business.
11. Increased Audience Engagement
If your business wants to survive, you must treat your audience not as a passive part of your business but as active stakeholders in the future of
it. Brands that realize this use content as a way of engaging their readers. In fact, many businesses have been able to avoid
unsuccessful marketing campaigns and product launches by engaging their audience and seeking their opinions.
Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 37
12. Better Brand Recognition
Have you ever Googled a product and clicked on a website even though it wasn’t the first item in search results? Chances are, you clicked
on that website because you’ve seen or heard about it before. Content is one of the best ways to make your brand so familiar that buyers in
your niche are naturally drawn to you when they’re searching for solutions in your niche. As buyers are becoming more careful about
what they purchase, content is a great way to maintain top-of-mind status with audiences in your niche.
13. More Brand Credibility
Reviews and testimonials are one of the most popular forms of content among people looking to make a purchase decision. People want
to know about your brand and how it has helped others before committing their money. One great way to convey your value and reduce
risk for your audience is by sharing insightful and honest content about your products/services through testimonials.
14. Faster Lead Conversion
If you’re an online marketer, you’ve most likely come across the term ‘sales funnel’. A sales funnel is basically a graphic representation of
the steps involved in converting interested prospects into buyers. Often the sales funnel involves lots of steps and activities, some of which
are painstakingly slow. One of the best ways to speed up sales funnel activities and convert more leads is through highly targeted content.
Crafting content that is relevant to your prospective buyers will help them make up their minds faster.
15. Supportive of All Online Marketing Channels and Activities
Aligning all your marketing activities and channels can be a tough call, especially with the number of channels and activities that go into
marketing today. Content acts as the glue that binds each channel and activity together to grow your business. It’s a great tool for ensuring
that your marketing messages and goals are in sync all the time.
These benefits of content marketing aren’t exhaustive in any way. However, they’re enough to help you understand why the cliché
‘content is king’ will remain one of the most relevant phrases in the world of digital marketing. Still, you can only reap the benefits of
content by delivering relevant and valuable information consistently to audiences in your niche.

Website Designing
Web design refers to the design of websites that are displayed on the internet. It
usually refers to the user experience aspects of website development rather than
software development. Web design used to be focused on designing websites for
desktop browsers; however, since the mid-2010s, design for mobile and tablet
browsers has become ever-increasingly important.
Two of the most common methods for designing websites that work well both
on desktop and mobile are responsive and adaptive design. In responsive design,
content moves dynamically depending on screen size; in adaptive design, the
website content is fixed in layout sizes that match common screen sizes.
Why do we use web design?
Web design uses many of the same key visual elements as all types of design
such as: Layout: This is the way the graphics, ads and text are arranged. In
the web world, a key goal is to help the view find the information they seek
at a glance. Fonts: The use of various fonts can enhance a website design.
What is the difference between a web developer and a web designer?
Web designers use various design programs such as Adobe Photoshop to
create the layout and other visual elements of the website. Web
developers use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and other programming
languages to bring to life the design files.
A website is a collection of related web pages, including multimedia content,

rank of "low-quality sites" or "thin sites", in particular "content farms",
and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results.
It appears that Google's goal with all of these algorithm changes (Panda,
Penguin and Hummingbird) is to encourage webmasters to publish
content that is the best of its kind.

What is Google EMD Algorithm?
Google’s Web Spam team introduced EMD Algorithm Update with an
objective to provide users better search results and experience by
reducing the amount of low quality EMD in search results. The term
EMD stands for Exact Match Domains.
What is Google Hummingbird?
Hummingbird is able to judge the intent behind every person’s search, and
therefore judging by the intent, Google is able to return results of synonyms that
are used in the same context. This kind of search is referred to as semantic search.
The reason behind this change in focus is very simple; Google’s aim is to
continuously progress towards a virtual world which mimics human interaction,
and Hummingbird is the first step in heading towards that direction, as it is capable
to understand the relationship between the keywords in a sentence.
With Google Hummingbird, conversational searches are understood as a whole
i.e. everything is taken into account not just the keywords. Therefore, it considers
different factors implied by the query to determine which results the user will find
most useful.
What is Google Caffeine Algorithm?
Caffeine is a revamp of Google's indexing infrastructure. It is not a change to
Google's ranking algorithms. It is live across all data centers, regions, and
languages. Content is available to searchers more quickly. Previously, Google
'scrawling and indexing systems worked as batch processes.
Google Caffeine is a re-architect of the entire indexing system for
performance. In short, Caffeine:
• Allows Google to crawl and index more pages
• Allows Google to crawl and index pages faster

What is digital strategy and planning?
A digital strategy, sometimes called a digital media strategy, is a plan for
maximizing the business benefits of data assets and technology-focused
initiatives. A successful digital strategy requires a cross-functional team with
executive leadership, marketing and information technology (IT) members.
What media planning includes?
Media planning is generally outsourced to a media agency and entails
sourcing and selecting optimal media platforms for a client's brand or product
to use. The job of media planning is to determine the best combination of
media to achieve the marketing campaign objectives.
Digital Marketing Situation Analysis?
The situation analysis section of your digital marketing plan needs to describe the
context in which your digital marketing will take place. It should include an
analysis of your business' internal (micro) and external (macro) environments.
Internal considerations include your:
•customers
•market, and any trends in this
•current online proposition
•competitors
External considerations could be:
•Social - how changing consumer attitudes could affect your approach
•Legal - i.e. complying with digital marketing laws, such as data protection
•Environmental - e.g. making sure your approach is ethical and sustainable
•Political - how local or national government could impact on your plan
•Technological - how advances in technology could affect your marketplace
Sell – Grow sales and attract business using digital technologies.
Serve – Add value through the benefits of the Internet such as speed.
Speak – Get closer to customers by making your business available to them at
home, work or on the go with mobile technologies.
Save – Reduce costs by using information technologies to make your business
more efficient.
Sizzle – Extend the online brand (or create a new one) – remember sell the sizzle
not the sausage i.e. the benefits, aesthetics or value of a product or service rather
than its features.
Information Gathering
• What is your company philosophy?
• Who are your ideal customers?
• What are your primary objectives?
• How do you want to be perceived by customers?
• What makes your business unique?
• Do you plan to expand your business?
• What is your budget for this project?
• When do you want to have this project completed?
• What does success mean to you?
• Get to grips with the metrics that are most valuable to your business
• Understand obstacles that could get in the way of meeting your goals
• Know the underlying performance drivers to make more strategic
decisions

During this period I found many aspirants in the corporate world trying to get trained in different tech domains and later struggling to keep their thirst alive for more knowledge and practical understanding of the training they take. Watching a lot of such boats sink down or lost in the big corporate waters I finally decided to captain my own boat and how I incepted my own tech venture JST Business Solutions Pvt Ltd. After 12th from UP Board I came to Delhi and I took more than 40 trainings like MCSE ,MCITP, MCSA, Exchange Server, RHCE, RHCA, MicroTik, UBNT, Ethical Hacking, VM Ware, CISSP, CISA, ITIL, Digital Marketing, CRISC, GPEN, CPTC, CPTE, CompTIA – Security+, CSTA, OSCP, ECSA, SSCP and SIEM with that I have Completed my Degree in Bachelor of Art from the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. • 5. What is Digital Marketing? Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 5 Digital marketing is promoting or creating brand awareness using Internet. The marketing of products or services using digital channels to reach consumers. The key objective is to promote brands through various forms of digital media. Digital marketing extends beyond internet marketing to include channels that do not require the use of the internet. Digital marketing is simply using digital strategies to communicate business specific information to an audience in order to illicit a response. Basically, digital marketing works by using a number of different strategies. Digital Marketing is catapulting past analog. People are consuming more digital content daily – using their smart phones, desktops computers, laptops, tablets, and more. Digital Marketing means that you get a custom strategy that will boost your digital channels so that your business can dominate. According to me or as per my understanding there are two type of Digital Marketing 1. Digital Marketing. (Paid “Campaign through PPC” and Unpaid “SEO”) Digital marketing is cost-efficient. Though some invest on paid ads online; however, the cost is still cheaper compared to traditional marketing. Data and results are easily recorded. With Google Analytics and the insights tools offered by most social media channels, you can check on your campaigns at any time 2. • 19. What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)? Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 19 Search engine optimization is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine (SERP) — including Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines What goes into SEO? To understand what SEO really means, let's break that sentence down and look at the parts: •Quality of traffic. You can attract all the visitors in the world, but if they're coming to your site because Google tells them you're a resource for Apple computers when really you're a farmer selling apples, that is not quality traffic. Instead you want to attract visitors who are genuinely interested in products that you offer. •Quantity of traffic. Once you have the right people clicking through from those search engine results pages (SERPs), more traffic is better. •Organic results. Ads make up a significant portion of many SERPs. Organic traffic is any traffic that you don't have to pay for.

  • 21. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 21 Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are often confused with one another. While SEM strategy and SEO tactics often go hand in hand, sometimes it’s tough knowing which is which. It’s not that you need one or the other – no, you need both. If you’re having trouble getting your website to bring in sales leads, then keep reading. Let’s run through how to maximize both SEM strategy and SEO strategy for your business. WHAT IS SEO? Search engine optimization is the most cost-friendly marketing investment you can make. If you build content yourself, it’s free. Hire someone, and you’ll spend money on a salary, but not on any sort of brand placement. SEO involves the deliberate use of keywords, HTML tags, meta data and other content-related or backend-oriented tactics to manipulate your rank on Google. The more authority you gain through these SEO strategies, the higher your website shows in the Google search engine results pages (SERPs). The higher your website, the better brand awareness, the higher the traffic and the more consumers convert. Part I “Second Part after SEM”

Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 23 Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) are the pages displayed by search engines in response to a query by a searcher. The main component of the SERP is the listing of results that are returned by the search engine in response to a keyword query, although the pages may also contain other results such as advertisements. What is SERP analysis? SERP (Search Engine Results Page) Analysis is the process of analyzing the top web pages that rank for a specific keyword or topic. SEO and marketing professionals use this information to determine the difficulty level of ranking for a Google search. ... In short, it's time to analyze the search results. 1.Direct search results, consisting of links to sites. This is the natural issuance of search engines, where sites are struggling for the highest positions. The search results page contains, by default, 10 links, but the number can be changed in the search settings; 2.Blocks with contextual advertising; 3.Small fields before search results. They can contain typing errors, a quick response to a user request, a calculator, and so on; 4.Pictures are issued in response to a particular search query; 5.Related queries – the search query is refined. The user is offered word forms or similar requests; 6.Elements of management – this includes links to go to the site, prompts when entering a user request. What is SERP tracking? A SERP feature is any result on a Google Search Engine Results Page (SERP) that is not a traditional organic result. The SERP Features section within Moz Pro helps you to track what features are present for the keywords you are tracking, as well as your presence (and your competitors' presence) in those features.

The difference between SEO and SEM is simply that Search Engine Optimization is part of Search engine marketing or Search marketing as it is widely known. Both processes aim in increasing visibility in search engines. ... It involves other methods that can get you more search engine visitors like PPC advertising. What is SEM strategy? Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are often confused with one another. While SEM strategy and SEO tactics often go hand in hand, sometimes it's tough knowing which is which. WHAT IS SEM? SEM on the other hand, encompasses any strategy that involves gaining traffic from search engines like Google and Bing. Along with SEO being a tool, SEM encompasses paid placement such as pay-per-click (PPC) or cost-per-click (CPC), paid inclusion that simply gets you ranked for a price, and of course traditional ads placed on SERPs. All of these subsets are unique and their tools perform different functions. Part II “Just Below SEO Topic” What is SEO and SEM Techniques? • 25. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 25 PAID VS. ORGANIC The best answer for paid vs. organic search engine marketing is not a question of which one is better. It is a matter of finding the right harmony between the two. First, consider your budget. If you have no way of paying for a PPC or CPC campaign (which can get pricey), then you’re probably going to want to stick with SEO. If you do have some leeway with your money, paid advertisements are worth a shot. Because improvements are made to search engine algorithms constantly, your SEO work often can be down-ranked from the changes. Paid SEM investments on the other hand, are invincible against the updates, and will maintain their original form for their entire lifespan. A paid campaign will cost more, and as the data shows, return your dollar, but it’s an upfront venture. If you want to increase website traffic immediately, some form of paid SEM is your best option. But make sure that when someone gets to your website, they can easily find what they are looking for and convert. To ensure you see a return on your SEM investment, conduct a few marketing tactics behind the scenes: Testing To ensure your marketing strategy works, you should be doing what every good marketer or small business owner should be doing. Test and test again. A/B testing or conversion optimization for your paid campaign is the most effective way to improve your paid advertisement visibility and conversion rate. SHORT TERM VS. LONG TERM Whether you should use paid placement or organic tactics depends heavily upon your business objectives. Do you want to (or can you) pay upfront, move a lot of products fast and hope for a return on your investment? Or do you have time to slowly build a thriving brand awareness to sell products? For the short-term, it’s suggested that you utilize SEO, or a combination of SEO with SEM strategies. Something like a CPC or PPC campaign will deliver your site traffic immediately. But, stop the renewal license for those paid ads, and the traffic ceases as well. SEO on the other hand, is better for the long term. Because of the time- involvement, including keyword research, content strategy and creation, and backend tagging, SEO will be a much lengthier process. But, as long as you stick to the strategy, it’s something that will help you thrive organically for a long time. Research You’re going to want to narrow down you your brand will be speaking to. Who is your SEO target market and where do they hang out online? How will you speak to them and why will they tune in to what you and your brand are saying?

  • 34. Content Marketing (Content is King) Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 34 Content is king’ is a phrase that we’ve all heard, and might even be sick of hearing. You probably know how important content is to the survival of your businesses in the digital age but still, considering the fact that only 9% of B2B marketers consider their content marketing to be effective, and that only 27% of all marketers have a documented content strategy, it becomes very vital to remind ourselves of just the role content plays in the growth of a business. We will discuss 15 benefits of content marketing, to reinforce the importance of putting time and effort into a content marketing strategy. 1. Better SEO In the past, “keyword stuffing” was a way to dupe search engines into ranking your page higher in their results. now, search engines like Google have advanced algorithms that allow them to accurately assess content quality. When you produce high-quality content consistently, you give Google more opportunities to put your page in front of people who are searching for topics in your niche. Content marketing benefits your business by improving your SEO and therefore your visibility. 2. Increased Website Traffic With consistency in delivering great content comes increased website traffic. The more relevant and valuable content you create in your niche, the more people are likely to find your website, and the more likely they are to keep coming back for future questions. The more website traffic and repeat visitors you get, the more your overall website traffic can grow over the long term.

More Leads Have you ever purchased anything without first gathering information on it? Consumers today have access to tools and resources that allow them to make careful purchasing decisions. As such, creating great content is singularly the most powerful way to generate leads for your business. By providing information that offers readers insight into your products or services, you give them the information they need to become a customer. Content about your products and services as well as about your area of expertise helps to build trust, which helps to generate quality leads for your business. 4. More Sales Creating content that engages your readers helps to increase your lead conversion, resulting in more sales for your business. Also, given that more and more people are blocking ads on their browsers, content becomes the most vital way of communicating the value that turns readers into buyers. The thing about great content is that it’s non-disruptive and naturally invites members of your target audience to engage with your business. 5. Enhanced Brand Image Good brands often earn the respect of consumers before they even make a purchase, simply through the quality of their content. In this age of globalization, brand image is everything, and content facilitates brand image. With great content, you put yourself in control of your business’s reputation and brand identity. 6. Greater Brand Authority As mentioned above, it’s the age of globalization. Thanks to social media and other online developments leveling the playing field, one business in a small town can actually be competing with thousands of other businesses all over the world. With so many businesses vying for the audience’s attention, it takes an established footprint through great content to actually win the audience. People are going to be more receptive to a brand they’ve read about than to one about which they have no prior information.

Content helps you gain customers first by converting readers to first-time buyers, and then continues on to influence those first-time buyers to become repeat customers. Over time, content helps you cultivate among your customers an affinity to your brand and a preference for yours over your competitors. 8. More Brand Visibility There are millions of businesses striving to be seen by customers online. The only way to stand out from other businesses and establish your brand as the go-to in a niche is by regularly interacting with your audience through great content. The more you address the concerns of your audience through content, the more they see your brand and recognize you as an expert and thought leader in your niche. 9. Stronger Social Media Following People will share your content if it solves a problem or satisfies a need. When a reader finds your content helpful, they share that content others who might find it useful and before you know it, you gain more followers on social media who are eager to listen to what you’re saying. 10. Improved Customer Relationships Customer relationships have always been important, but are even more important in the digital age because several people rely on the opinion of other people to make purchase decisions. Content is a great way to address the needs of your customers and tackle any form of issues they might be having with your product or services. Use FAQ pages, blog posts, and other online resources to provide a superior experience for customers, who won’t be able to help themselves from spreading the word about your business. 11. Increased Audience Engagement If your business wants to survive, you must treat your audience not as a passive part of your business but as active stakeholders in the future of it. Brands that realize this use content as a way of engaging their readers. In fact, many businesses have been able to avoid unsuccessful marketing campaigns and product launches by engaging their audience and seeking their opinions.
  • 37. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 37 12. Better Brand Recognition Have you ever Googled a product and clicked on a website even though it wasn’t the first item in search results? Chances are, you clicked on that website because you’ve seen or heard about it before. Content is one of the best ways to make your brand so familiar that buyers in your niche are naturally drawn to you when they’re searching for solutions in your niche. As buyers are becoming more careful about what they purchase, content is a great way to maintain top-of-mind status with audiences in your niche. 13. More Brand Credibility Reviews and testimonials are one of the most popular forms of content among people looking to make a purchase decision. People want to know about your brand and how it has helped others before committing their money. One great way to convey your value and reduce risk for your audience is by sharing insightful and honest content about your products/services through testimonials. 14. Faster Lead Conversion If you’re an online marketer, you’ve most likely come across the term ‘sales funnel’. A sales funnel is basically a graphic representation of the steps involved in converting interested prospects into buyers. Often the sales funnel involves lots of steps and activities, some of which are painstakingly slow. One of the best ways to speed up sales funnel activities and convert more leads is through highly targeted content. Crafting content that is relevant to your prospective buyers will help them make up their minds faster. 15. Supportive of All Online Marketing Channels and Activities Aligning all your marketing activities and channels can be a tough call, especially with the number of channels and activities that go into marketing today. Content acts as the glue that binds each channel and activity together to grow your business. It’s a great tool for ensuring that your marketing messages and goals are in sync all the time. These benefits of content marketing aren’t exhaustive in any way. However, they’re enough to help you understand why the cliché ‘content is king’ will remain one of the most relevant phrases in the world of digital marketing. Still, you can only reap the benefits of content by delivering relevant and valuable information consistently to audiences in your niche.
  • 38. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 38 Website Designing Web design refers to the design of websites that are displayed on the internet. It usually refers to the user experience aspects of website development rather than software development. Web design used to be focused on designing websites for desktop browsers; however, since the mid-2010s, design for mobile and tablet browsers has become ever-increasingly important. Two of the most common methods for designing websites that work well both on desktop and mobile are responsive and adaptive design. In responsive design, content moves dynamically depending on screen size; in adaptive design, the website content is fixed in layout sizes that match common screen sizes. Why do we use web design? Web design uses many of the same key visual elements as all types of design such as: Layout: This is the way the graphics, ads and text are arranged. In the web world, a key goal is to help the view find the information they seek at a glance. Fonts: The use of various fonts can enhance a website design. What is the difference between a web developer and a web designer? Web designers use various design programs such as Adobe Photoshop to create the layout and other visual elements of the website. Web developers use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and other programming languages to bring to life the design files. A website is a collection of related web pages, including multimedia content, typically identified with a common domain name, and published on at least one web server. Notable examples are wikipedia.org, google.com, and amazon.com. Today roughly 380 new websites are created every minute across the World What is Hosting ? A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosting services store your website data in web servers, which are very high-powered computers. We use a very fast network to connect your data to those who request your website by typing your URL, or web address, into the search bar. The internet connects the web server to the person who requested it. The information quickly travels through the web back to their computer. What is Domain? What is HTML? HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, and it is the most widely used language to write Web Pages. •Hypertext refers to the way in which Web pages (HTML documents) are linked together. Thus, the link available on a webpage is called Hypertext. •As its name suggests, HTML is a Markup Language which means you use HTML to simply "mark-up" a text document with tags that tell a Web browser how to structure it to display.
  • 39. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 39 What is PHP? PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor (no, the acronym doesn't follow the name). It is an open source, server-side, scripting language used for the development of web applications. By scripting language, we mean a program that is script-based (lines of code) written for the automation of tasks. What is CSS ? Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML. CSS is a cornerstone technology of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript. Keyword Planner? The Keyword Planner is a more focused version of the Google Keyword Tool and AdWords Traffic Estimator tool, and the focus is on doing one thing only: to make it easier for advertisers to get through the process of creating new ad groups and ad campaigns, which is the key to getting your PPC accounts off to a good. The Google Ads Keyword Planner tool is a useful resource for building strong keyword lists and helping to get your PPC campaign off to a running start. A free-to-use feature within Google Ads, its tools for generating keyword ideas and bid estimations can help you plan your marketing strategy. •Head section •Body section •Footer section Each section is identified in the code in the following manner: •The Head section begins with a <head> tag and ends with a </head> tag. •The Body section begins with a <body> tag and ends with a </body> tag. •The Footer section begins with a <footer> tag and ends with a </footer> tag. Title Tag? The Title Tag is part of the SEO Trinity. This tag must align completely with the page’s URL and content (The other components of the Trinity). It is one of the strongest signals that informs the search engines that a page is about X and directly impacts keyword ranking. There are a series of basic best practices for crafting an optimized Title Tag. •Use a maximum of 65 characters (including spaces). •The page’s target keyword should be at the beginning. •Each page must have one Title Tag. •Each Title Tag must be unique (never use the same Title Tag on other pages). •Branding always appears at the end of the Title Tag. •Separate branding with a hyphen or pipe. A user sees the Title Tag on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). The user will not see this content on the web page itself.
  • 40. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 40 Meta Description Tag? The Meta Description Tag indirectly impacts keyword ranking and greatly influences SERP click-through rate. SERP click-through rate directly impacts keyword ranking so the Meta Description Tag is very important. Here are some basic rules to follow when writing a Meta Description Tag. •Never exceed 150 characters (including spaces). •Utilize the page’s target keyword near the beginning of this tag. •Each page must have one Meta Description Tag. •Each Meta Description Tag must be unique (never use the same Description on other pages). •Use call-to-action language that will convince the user to click on your search result. Users will see this snippet on the SERP, and it will not be visible on your web page. Open Graph Tags? The open graph protocol allows developers to leverage Facebook in new and exciting ways. One of the easiest ways to venture into the world of Open Graph is to add the open graph meta tags to your site. Open Graph Tags (OG Tags) are used for crafting customized share messaging on some social network platforms. Facebook is the primary social network that pulls OG Tag information to create a user’s status update. Here are the typical OG Tags: •meta property=”og:title” •meta property=”og:description” •meta property=”og:type” •meta property=”og:url” •meta property=”og:image” •meta property=”og:site_name” These tags do not impact ranking directly. However, studies have shown the top ranking pages for competitive keywords tend to have the most share totals from Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other networks.

Redirection is the process of forwarding one URL to a different URL. What is a Redirect? A redirect is a way to send both users and search engines to a different URL from the one they originally requested. The three most commonly used redirects are 301, 302, and Meta Refresh. Types of Redirects •301, "Moved Permanently"—recommended for SEO •302, "Found" or "Moved Temporarily" •Meta Refresh What is Keyword Density, Spamming and Stuffing? Keyword Spamming and Keyword Stuffing are the same. Thus, the keyword density should be no more than 3-4% in a webpage or an article. Keyword Spamming Or Keyword Stuffing: It is the process or the practice of inserting a large no of keywords in a definite text. Keyword stuffing is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique, considered web spam or spamdexing, in which a keywords are loaded into a web page's meta tags, visible content, or backlink anchor text in an attempt to gain an unfair rank advantage in search engines. Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization, keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. Keyword stuffing" refers to the practice of loading a webpage with keywords or numbers in an attempt to manipulate a site's ranking in Google search results. What is image optimization? Image optimization is about reducing the file size of your images as much as possible without sacrificing quality so that your page load times remain low. It's also about image SEO. That is, getting your product images and decorative images to rank on Google and other image search engines. • Use a relevant image that matches your text. • Pick a good file name for your image. • Make sure image dimensions match the image size as displayed. • Reduce file size for faster loading. • Add a caption, if appropriate, for easier scanning of the page. • Use image alt text.

What is a backlink on a website? Backlink is a link one website gets from another website. Backlinks make a huge impact on a website's prominence in search engine results. This is why they are considered very useful for improving a website's SEO ranking. Search engines calculate rankings using multiple factors to display search results. What is Page Ranking in SEO? Off-page factors are harder for web masters to craft, but can have an enormous effect on page rank depending on the search engine algorithm. Search engine algorithms are the mystery behind search engines, sometimes even amusingly called the search engine's “Secret Sauce”. Google Panda Algorithms? Google Panda is a change to Google's search results ranking algorithm that was first released in February 2011. The change aimed to lower the rank of "low-quality sites" or "thin sites", in particular "content farms", and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results. It appears that Google's goal with all of these algorithm changes (Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird) is to encourage webmasters to publish content that is the best of its kind.
  • 44. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 44 What is Google EMD Algorithm? Google’s Web Spam team introduced EMD Algorithm Update with an objective to provide users better search results and experience by reducing the amount of low quality EMD in search results. The term EMD stands for Exact Match Domains. What is Google Hummingbird? Hummingbird is able to judge the intent behind every person’s search, and therefore judging by the intent, Google is able to return results of synonyms that are used in the same context. This kind of search is referred to as semantic search. The reason behind this change in focus is very simple; Google’s aim is to continuously progress towards a virtual world which mimics human interaction, and Hummingbird is the first step in heading towards that direction, as it is capable to understand the relationship between the keywords in a sentence. With Google Hummingbird, conversational searches are understood as a whole i.e. everything is taken into account not just the keywords. Therefore, it considers different factors implied by the query to determine which results the user will find most useful. What is Google Caffeine Algorithm? Caffeine is a revamp of Google's indexing infrastructure. It is not a change to Google's ranking algorithms. It is live across all data centers, regions, and languages. Content is available to searchers more quickly. Previously, Google 'scrawling and indexing systems worked as batch processes. Google Caffeine is a re-architect of the entire indexing system for performance. In short, Caffeine: • Allows Google to crawl and index more pages • Allows Google to crawl and index pages faster

  • 49. Career Counselling By Sahabuddin Siddiqui || All rights reserved || https://career-counselling-by-sahabuddin.business.site 49 What is digital strategy and planning? A digital strategy, sometimes called a digital media strategy, is a plan for maximizing the business benefits of data assets and technology-focused initiatives. A successful digital strategy requires a cross-functional team with executive leadership, marketing and information technology (IT) members. What media planning includes? Media planning is generally outsourced to a media agency and entails sourcing and selecting optimal media platforms for a client's brand or product to use. The job of media planning is to determine the best combination of media to achieve the marketing campaign objectives. Digital Marketing Situation Analysis? The situation analysis section of your digital marketing plan needs to describe the context in which your digital marketing will take place. It should include an analysis of your business' internal (micro) and external (macro) environments. Internal considerations include your: •customers •market, and any trends in this •current online proposition •competitors External considerations could be: •Social - how changing consumer attitudes could affect your approach •Legal - i.e. complying with digital marketing laws, such as data protection •Environmental - e.g. making sure your approach is ethical and sustainable •Political - how local or national government could impact on your plan •Technological - how advances in technology could affect your marketplace Sell – Grow sales and attract business using digital technologies. Serve – Add value through the benefits of the Internet such as speed. Speak – Get closer to customers by making your business available to them at home, work or on the go with mobile technologies. Save – Reduce costs by using information technologies to make your business more efficient. Sizzle – Extend the online brand (or create a new one) – remember sell the sizzle not the sausage i.e. the benefits, aesthetics or value of a product or service rather than its features. Information Gathering • What is your company philosophy? • Who are your ideal customers? • What are your primary objectives? • How do you want to be perceived by customers? • What makes your business unique? • Do you plan to expand your business? • What is your budget for this project? • When do you want to have this project completed? • What does success mean to you? • Get to grips with the metrics that are most valuable to your business • Understand obstacles that could get in the way of meeting your goals • Know the underlying performance drivers to make more strategic decisions
