The Golden Thread
1. Bob opens his SmartCity Worker app in the
morning on Monday. He reviews his
scheduled tasks and sees he has 8 jobs to
complete today.
2. He heads to the office, picks up the
inventory waiting for him, and grabs his
truck for his first job, fixing a street light on
Delmar Blvd., taking only 30 minutes of his
day.
3. The app directs Bob to Delmar Blvd. with
minimal traffic and provides him with the
optimal solution, a Pulsrite 2002 bulb,
once at the job site.
4. Bob starts the task on the app, completes
the job, and taps “End Job”. The app then
prompts Bob to complete the necessary
compliance questions for the completion of
the job.
5. Bob scans for the next job and is directed
towards downtown. Suddenly, the directions
change and automatically route him to
assist on an emergency water main break.
6. He arrives at the scene and utilizes the
resource manual in the app to refresh on
the steps to fix a water main break. He starts
the job, completes it, and fulfils the
compliance necessary.
7. Bob only has 2 hours remaining in the day
after the emergency water main, and hence
the app prioritizes his tasks with a pothole
job, taking on average 2 hours.
8. Bob completes the task, returns to the office,
drops off his truck and heads home for the
day, with no paperwork remaining.
