2. Most precipitation falls back into the oceans
or onto land, where , due to gravity, the
precipitation flows over the ground as surface
runoff. A portion of runoff enters rivers in
valleys in the landscape , with stream flow
moving water towards the oceans.
Meaning-

4.  The water cycle , also known as the
hydrological cycle , describes the continuous
movement of water on and above and below
the surface of the earth.

5. The water moves from one reservoir to
another, such as from river to ocean, or
from the ocean to the atmosphere, by
the physical process of the evaporation,
condensation, precipitation,
infiltration. In doing so, the water goes
through different phases: liquid,
solid(ice) and vapor.

6.  The water cycle involves the exchange of energy, which
leads to temperature changes.
 For instance, when the water evaporates, it takes up
energy from its surroundings and cools the
environment.
 When it condenses it releases energy and warms the
environment.
 These heat exchanges influence climate.

8.  The water cycle is essential for the maintenance of
most life and ecosystem on the planet.

9.  “Evaporation”- The process of turning from liquid into
vapor is called evaporation.

10. “CONDENSATION”- The process of conversion of vapor
or gas to a liquid is known as condensation.

11.  “PRECIPITATION”- Precipitation is water released
from the cloud in the form of rain.

12.  “INFILTRATION”- Infiltration is the process by water
on the ground surface enters the soil.
