2. · Previously worked with Thomas Cook (India) Ltd from 2007 till 14th August 2012.
Þ Effective 1st February 2012, as part of the pool of Key Talent Programme
(comprising of employees that the company have identified for fast track
growth), I had been assigned to the sales team in the Foreign Exchange
vertical as Manager – Business Development, Foreign Exchange to enhance
my breadth of knowledge of the various business domains in the
organization.
Þ Primary responsibility was to develop the retail sales business in the Bengal
market with special focus on the tour operators segment as well as the
student counsellors
· In my immediate previous assignment with Thomas Cook worked in the
capacity of Manager – Leisure Travel Outbound, MICE.
Experiences in Thomas Cook
Þ Joined as the Branch-In-Charge for its Corporate Travel business at Lake
Gardens and then handled the Salt Lake Branch as well
In this role serviced varied large corporate customers like Genpact, TCS,
Godrej, IIT – Guwahati, Webel, Globsyn Technologies etc and helped them
manage their travel needs cost effectively.
Þ In 2009 took over additional responsibility of handling the back office
operations for the Leisure Travel Outbound business
In this capacity besides my role in Corporate Travel, was also responsible for
assisting the Leisure Travel business by supervising and facilitating their
ticketing and other back office functional needs
Þ In February 2010 took over responsibility of managing the MICE operations
of Kolkata, in addition to continuing to manage the back office operations of
the Leisure Travel Outbound business.
Have handled in this capacity, various MICE movements from Tata Tubes,
Tata Flat Products and other Tata Group companies, Nicolas Piramal, Asian
Paints, Berger Paints, Philips, Anand Bazaar Patrika, Metal Junction & SREI.
While my primary function was to handle the operations, I was also actively
involved in negotiating the finalization of some of the group movements from
these companies and even escorted large groups of 200+ from Tata Tubes,
ABP to assist them with logistics on the ground. The role involved
contracting, handling land arrangements, reservations and ticketing with the
airline, coordinating all arrangements internally and with the customer,
arranging tour managers and closing the file profitably. It also involved
coordinating with some of the customers and ensuring collection of monies.
3. Prior work experiences:
· From January 2001 – 2007 have worked with Globe Forex & Travels Ltd., (a
representative of American Express Travel Service Network). We were then the
number one agent in Eastern India with a turnover of Rs.100crores. I worked as
Amex Card Member Desk in–charge and as a Senior Travel Consultant in their
international department.
· Worked briefly in Jungle Travels Pvt Ltd., as in-charge of Kolkata Branch during
1999 – 2000
· Worked as a Survey Investigator under Airport Authority Of India at NSCBI
Airport, Kolkata (1998-1999)

· Planning itineraries, fares, visas for international travel for individual and
corporate travellers from IBM, World Bank, British Council, WHO, US
