2. Introduction
Most of the rail level crossing gates in our
country are maintained manually by gate man.
Gate man measures train’s position hearing
the whistle and closes the level crossing gate.
After the train leaves the crossing gate, the
gate opens for further traffic.

3. Introduction
In 2007-08, 53 accidents were occurred.
In 2006-07, 92 people were injured and 49
people were killed.
In this project, the system can automatically
detect trains position as well as maintain the
gate.
4. Objectives
• To make a system that can automatically
monitor and control a rail level crossing gate.
• To minimize accidents as well as hazards on
level crossing of railways.

IR obstacle avoidance sensor module
Vibration sensor module
Buzzer
Servo Motor

Wires ( To create electrical connection among the
equipments)
12. Limitations
• The whole system works with the help of
electricity. If there is no electrical energy the
system will not work.
13. Future Work
• The whole system will work with the help of
solar energy. Some solar panels can be used
here to save our country’s electricity.
• The alarming sound will be replaced by a voice
message as well as a display will show a visual
message like - “Train is coming. Be safe and
make a distance from it”.
14. Conclusion
• Level crossings are still unsafe and unsecured.
This automatic wireless system can be
operated automatically to maintain the level
crossing gate and traffic of that road. This
project can be very beneficial our country as
well as fulfill the dream of -
“Digital Bangladesh”.
