ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
The project ‘Speech Controlled Robot’ consists of two
sections, one is on Control Station and other is on Robotic Side.
At both embedded section, the main part of the system is the
microcontroller AT89c51. All the controlling and processing
actions are done on the microcontroller. At the control station, the
microcontroller takes the commands from a ‘Speech to Text
conversion module’ and transmits it into the robotic side through a
wireless link (zigbee). At the Robotic side, the microcontroller
receives the commands, using a zigbee module. If the commands
are for movement action, then according to the command the robot
moves.
The ‘Speech to Text conversion Module’ is used for getting
commands. The microcontroller receives the commands from the
module the microcontroller processes that commands and
monitoring on an. LCD module. The LCD has 16 character x 2
line display facility. The message to be displayed is send to the
LCD through data bus. A set of control lines are needed to proper
displaying of the characters in LCD. A zigbee module is used for
transmitting the commands to the robotic side. According to serial
communication the messages are transmit through RF Transmitter
module. The communication is fully wireless.
The zigbee module receives the commands from the control
station and gives it into the microcontroller. The zigbee module is
working according to the serial communication. Motors are
connected to the controller through a driver IC. L293D is used for
motor 1 and motor 2. These driver IC’s are controlling the
movements. The LCD module is connected to the controller for
display the commands on Robot. The LCD has 16 character x 2
line display facility. The message to be displayed is send to the
LCD through data bus. A set of control lines are needed to proper
displaying of the characters in LCD.
