Born and raised in the grassroots level, Wayne used to live in subdivided units and even once sleep on the street. He believes social and educational innovation is the way to poverty alleviation and social mobility. Wayne serves as a member of Hong Kong Government’s Commission on Poverty, Social Enterprise Advisory Committee, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund and Community Care Fund. He is an alum of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program, the only Asian in Facebook’s Youth Advisory Committee, the President & Co-Founder of Global Changemakers Alliance and the Person-in-Charge of Liter of Light (Greater China). He is named the first Honorary Ambassador of the University of Turku and the University of Lapland, Finland. He is also a member of Education Committee of Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Wayne is the recipient of Silver Award of SD4 (Quality Education) Track at UNLEASH Innovation Lab, Hong Kong Youth Service Award, Hong Kong Volunteer Award and Hong Kong Spirit Ambassadors. He translated and deployed the “Suspended coffee” concept which reached over 200 million Chinese-speaking people via social media and inspired thousands of entities to provide “suspended products or services”.
