2. CRYONICS:
• The concept of cryonics was introduced in 1962 by the
founder of Cryonics Institute, ROBERT ETTINGER.
• ROBERT ETTINGER (The Father of Cryonics)
• His landmark book “THE PROSPECTS OF
IMMORTALITY”
3. INTRODUCTION:
Cryonics involves cooling a recently deceased dead
person to liquid nitrogen temperatures in order to keep
the body preserved indefinitely.
To keep the patient preserved until future science is able
to repair or replace vital tissues and ultimately revive the
patient.
This may include repairing or replacing of damaged
tissues and even entire organs using advanced computer
systems, Nanotechnology or may be with Nanobots
4. This research works under the assumption that’s a
person isn’t truly dead until the information in the
brain becomes lost.
• The idea is that if you preserve the mind, you can
preserve the person-the body itself can be fixed in the
future, once we develop the technology for it.
• To successfully cure person who's been preserved,
you’d have to cure the effects.
• We would have to cure the effects of being preserved.
• And then you’d have to cure what killed them.
5. There are about 150 humans have been
preserved and 120 pets are also been preserved
and 1000 members have signed to get cryonic
• They are preserved in tanks containing Liquid nitrogen
where the temperature usually at -196⁰c ( -320°F).
• In the process called VITRIFICATION.
• VITRIFICATION: Is the process used today to
preserve human embryos for people undergoing
IVF therapy.
• And these can be revived and implanted as long
after 12years.
6. STEPS INVOLVED IN CRYO-
PRESERVATION
Step 1: Corpse CPR
The first step of the procedure is to cool the body by
placing it in an ice bath
After the body is in case by ice, HLR or Heart-Lung
Resuscitator is placed on the body.
The compression of the chest continues the
circulation of blood and oxygen throughout the body,
and more important to the brain.
7.
8. Step 2: Cryoprotective perfusion
• In this step the blood to be replaced for the
cryoprotective solution.
• It is simply a solution that keep the cells safe from
fracturing, deterioring from the freezing process.
• To replace the blood the cryoprotectants are connected
to major organs of the body.
• Firstly, a low concentration of cryoprotectants allowed
to body for 2mins to flush out the remaining blood and
50% concentration for 2 hrs and then 100%
concentration for 1hr.
9.
10. Step 3: Freezing the corpse
• The body is now freeze under nitrogen gas
• The nitrogen is circulated approximately for 3 hrs. and
the body reaches to -124°C
• They are stored in a aluminum boxes.
• Now corpse is kept in LIQUID NITROGEN containers
that reaches the body to -196°C.
11.
12. FUTURE TECHNOLOGY
• Freezing the
corpse or brain.
• In LIQUID
NITROGEN at
-196°C.
FREEZING
• The process of
ice, snow or
other frozen
substance
becoming liquid
or soft as result
of waring up.
THAWING • Reviving the
patient form
death and cure
them.
REVIVE
13. SO, HOW MUCH IT COSTS?
• 20 lakh rupees ( $ 28,000) for life time preservation
of your whole body.
• 6 lakh rupees ( $ 6000 ) for preserving the brain.
