Responsibilities
Secure Communications Maintenance instruction, class size 8 to 12. I taught active duty
from all branches of military service and civilian students from various remote sites.
Helped with extensive course rewrite, including test writing, test equipment maintenance,
and performance testing of students.
Responsibilities included not only highly technical instruction on all aspects of a variety of
equipment, but maintaining classroom and equipment security, and presented students
with a variety of problems and solutions to those problems that may come up in the field.
Accomplishments
I earned the title of Master Technical Training Instructor, and I also competed for and won
numerous Instructor Awards at Unit, Group, and Command level.
I earned the Air Force Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal with one Oak Leaf
Cluster; through excellence in my military performance, a positive attitude at all times,
and dedication to my fellow airmen, supervisors, and commanders in everything I
accomplished.
2. I attended numerous "In-service Training Courses," required to advance and improve my
skills as a classroom instructor, and I provided quality technicians to the communications
field, per "Q" reports received from field supervisors;
Students knew when they left my classroom exactly what their job responsibilities would
entail.
Students understood the impact of a breach of security, learned how to perform a secure
inventory and, if a security problem arose, knew the proper procedure to secure the area
until proper authorities could arrive and a full search conducted for lost or missing
documents or equipment.
Skills Used
Public Speaking; Classroom instruction via lecture, demonstration performance, review
of materials presented, performance test set up, test grading, and one-on-one instruction
as required.
I repaired any equipment malfunctions, and "bugs" (test boards with faults) as they arose,
and completed Performance Maintenance Inspections to keep equipment in optimum
condition, and successfully maintained classroom discipline and military bearing through
professionalism and a positive attitude to create positive and successful outcomes. At
times, I was required to counsel students for academic, military, or disciplinary issues with
effective and successful outcomes.
I wrote objectives for lessons presented, wrote and maintained my lesson plans as
required, and participated in and assisted with major course rewrite and validation.
Wrote, maintained, and updated lesson plans as required.
As an additional duty, I revamped and established Instructor Excellence and Awards
Program through careful analysis of position requirements, objectives, and
encouragement of doing more than “just the job.”
