4. Chapter 1
Background of the Study
In Basilan National High School, we have two
libraries. One containing large number of books and one
with few equipment. Focusing on the library with few
equipment, it saddened the Grade 12 GAS students

tables, chairs, huge space, to the process of borrowing
books is not enough and accessible. Because of these,
students are more drawn off from the presence of the
library. So in this situation, an effective action by the
different higher ups of the school is needed.

The relevance of physical facilities in enhancing the level of
motivation and the academic performance of senior secondary

The research study of (dream Foundation about lack of library in school;
2021). Books are the treasury of information and astuteness. It is in this
manner, extremely basic, for youth, old, kids and understudies, to understand
books and improve the information.
Furthermore, even after controlling for student characteristics,
differences between textbooks remained.
We included this because in review of related literature we need to know
if the studies are related to our research studies. The purpose of this is that
this is also the main problems that the researchers of this article was trying to
solve, aside from lack of books, there is also lack of facilities and supplies in
their school. lack of supply in their school wherein the researchers were trying
to determine what would be the impact of it.

SUBJECT OF THE STUDY
This research study focuses on the Insufficient Equipment in Libraries
of Basilan National High School and its Impact to Grade 12 GAS Students.
The researcher utilized the Phenomenology qualitative research design.
RESPONDENTS AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUES
The chosen respondents are the Senior High Grade 12 GAS
Students. From the given population that was taken from respective
advisers, respondents were selected through simple random sampling
where the desired number depends on the Slovin’s formula.
RESEARCH LOCALE
This chapter discusses the location of the respondents in Basilan
National High School.

11. INSTRUMENTATION, ITS VALIDITY, & RELIABILITY
The Checklist question is consisted of ten (10) items. The part of checklist
questions consisted of the Insufficient Equipment in libraries and its impact. The
respondents answered these questions using the Checklist Table consists of Yes,
Maybe, No, and Never. In order to gather accurate data, the researchers looked
for the checklist questions that is related to the study.
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
First we asked permission in the principal’s office to conduct the study. A
report was requested from the registrar’s office for the population of Basilan
National High School. On the other hand, consent was also taken from the
evaluators or teachers before each student is evaluated for the Insufficient
Equipment in libraries of Basilan National High School and Its Impact to Grade 12
