INTRODUCTION
The biggest project of its kind in Northern India, the
science city has been setup in 72 acres of land in
Jalandhar-Kapurthala road ,Punjab. Science city offers
a blend of education, curiosity ,entertainment and
fun.
PGSC,covers areas like natural ,social science,
engineering, science, technology ,health
science,human evolution,space,dinosaurs,etc.
The total cost of science city is Rs.100 crore.
.
OBJECTIVES:-
To Create Awareness of Science in the
Community.
To develop the interactive learning center
through a playful approach.
To install state of the Art gadgets and exhibits
to support presentation.
To supplement Formal Education at grass root
level.
HISTORY
The foundation stone
was laid by Sh.Inder
Kumar Gujral on
October 17,1997.
The first phase was
inaugurated by
Lt.S.F.Rodrigues,Govern
er of Punjab on March
19,2005.
GALLERIES
SCIENCE VOYAGE HALL
SCIENCE EXPLORIUM
ENERGY PARK
DINOSAURS PARK
DEFENCE GALLERY
PANORMA OF LIFE THROUGH AGES
SCIENCE VOYAGE HALL
This hall is a combination of different types of models,
it comprises of models of life beginning on Earth, to
model of journey of Human being to reach out in space.
There are around 80 exhibits at present which are on
exhibition in the center and sides of hall.
SCIENCEVOYAGEHALL
Space Theatre.
Digital Planetarium.(LPU)
Laser Theatre.
3D Theatre.
Flight Simulator.
Space &Aviation
Earthquake Simulator
Climate Change Theatre
SPACETHEATRE
Large format films are
projected on 23 meter-title
dome.
The theatre has capacity of 325
persons.
It uses 15 perforations,70 mm
film to shoot and project images
with sharpness.
The 15/70 frame used is 10
times larger than 35mm used in
regular theaters and 3 times
larger than standard 70mm film
used in hollywood epics.
laserTHEATRE
This laser show room has the capacity of sitting 30 peoples at a time
The beam actually throw dots in the nylon cloths but as a human
eye scan only about 16 frames at a time, they seem to see the whole
figure made by dots.
With beams, the audience sees “structures” in mid-air . Usually
theatrical fog or haze is required to make the light shapes more
visible.
 The laser room had the control room behind the wall with the
circular cut for throwing laser beams.

1.To study origin of universe and danger it holds.
2.To locate resources beneficial to mankind.
3.To search for life on another planets.
Science Explorium
This Explorium consists of different types of
Gadgets explaining different famous theory of
physics. It also comprises of day to day daily
Gadgets which we use in our life those are
demonstrated in this Gallery and their works is
explained in it.

light sensitive elements
called peixels.
Renewable Energy Education Park
Renewable Energy Education
Park (REEP) is set up in Science
City with the assistance of the
Ministry of Non-Conventional
Energy Sources (MNES) and
Punjab Energy Development
Agency (PEDA) .
The entire park area has some unique civil and landscaping scenario. All
the exhibits are interactive and educative.
Some of it exhibits are:
Solar Centre Physics of Solar Photovoltaic
Solar music system, Solar weighing
machine, Fridge etc.
Solar energy quiz and games
Solar replica
Panels and blowups
Flat plate TV Screen with audio

DINOPARK
 Dino park has been setup in 2.63 hectare of area.
 26 different types of dinosaurs has been shown by 45
different models.
 Dino Park has divided in three periods:-
 1.Triassic.
 2.Jurrasic.
 3.Cretaceous.
 Smallest dinosaur is “Compsognathus”.
 Gaint dinosaurs like “Seismosaurus” of Jurrasic period
and “Argentinosaurus” of Cretaceous period.

DEFENCEGALLERY
MIG -23 BN SM 201
 The MIG-23 was designed in 1964-66 and entered into service in 1972. India got
first MIG-23 BN in 1980 from Russia.
