1. The Sombrerón
The story goes that there was a person
who lived in different villages long ago.
He was an old man who dressed in
black and stood a large hat of the same
color; rode a bold black horse also
mingled with the night, spoke to no one
and no one hurt; appeared and
disappeared as if by magic
They say the old man could be found
along the way, and although he died
long ago, people still feel his presence.
Physically he is described as an old man
with a big hat, well dressed, opaque
face and attitude of permanent
observation
2. The People who are seen , say that accompany two huge black dogs
caught by heavy chains. Night owls who have seen or who been
introduced to, say see figure leaving them the way, makes running and
screaming things are going to scare them.
Always chase the drunks, fighters, all-nighters, players and cheats. Take
advantage of lonely places. They say that in full moon nights is easy to
mistake the shadows cast by the branches and bushes. Always comes at
night at full gallop, accompanied by a strong cold wind and disappears
quickly.
3. The Sombrerón was famous in the
department of Antioquia, in the
era of 1837, when through all the
streets. Appeared four or five
Fridays in a row, reappeared after
a month or two. "It seems to be the
Sombrerón, Medellin own fear."
There are also stories of his
adventures in other Colombian
regions as Tolima, Huila and east of
Valle del Cauca. It is referred to as
the rider Black and is described in
much the same way as described
here.
