Editor's Notes
The magazine talks about nearly everything you need to know about music from interviews to new bands and the information inside it is easy to understand for 16+ as they have set out the text for people of that age.
I choose to analyze the music magazine NME because it has a similar theme towards what I want my magazine to be like. Also it has similar genre of music and same style as my magazine has.
Article talks about my chemical romance new album coming out and how there appearance has changed from there last albums. From becoming Emo/rock to pop colourful alternative punk. Different style of clothes and music all together.
Written like a Story with detail. Writes about the past life and music and write about comparing the old and new kind of style
The colours are standing out because of the new band theme extra and also
The key words are placed in a different colour and bold writing
The Caption shows the reader what is going on in the picture most of the time The Drop Cap shows where the story or interview is starting and always starts with the beginning letter. The Side Bar gives extra information in the article or story The Pull Quote is a quote that is taken out of the text and put in bold to show the reader some interesting comment to make the reader want to read the article. The Anchor is the end of our natural eye flow and shows the reader more information Page Number shows the reader what page they are on
When reading a interview or article the Double Page layout is normally set out of the natural eye view which is like a ‘C’ starting from the top right going round in a ‘C’ shape which ends at the bottom right of the page.
The image which is in the centre of two pages gives a lot of attention to the article and will attract a lot of readers with the big and colourful image. Also the text is very long and is suited to readers who would be quite interested in the band and that the writing gives great detail about the band. The side bars are there for information about the article but just cut down into smaller information for the reader or it could either be extra interesting information about the band which would be a plus side for readers who are interested in the band.
The tone to the text seems out going and entertaining for the readers to read! It shows comments on the band which can be fun and which can also be the truthful which keeps the readers entertained with good information on the band, sometimes telling jokes and also serious questions.
The magazine NME has created colourful images to draw the fans towards the article itself and the pictures relate to the audience because of its fan based. The images are of the concert of the bands and shows loads of colour which draws the audience and the whole pictures and story is all about the My Chemicals Romance band.
Both the front cover and the main double page front have the same colour scheme and have the same theme layout of the bands new theme of wear and music that they have brought out. Both use of same bold font both used on the front and main double page story.
