At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
 Know how is the media used in today digital age.
 Learn the importance and connection of digital media.
 Know the impact of digital media in our daily life.
 Know the three ages of digital media.
What is media in the digital age?
Digital media might come in the form of videos, articles,
advertisements, music, podcasts, audiobooks,
virtual reality, or digital art. The digital age began to
unfold in the second half of the 20th century, as computer
technology slowly infiltrated different industries and then
moved into the public sphere.
Three ages in media in the digital
age.
PRE- DIGITAL AGE
MID- DIGITAL AGE
POST DIGITAL AGE
PRE-
DIGITAL AGE
- Where media was
physical, and where
technologies lived
alongside and in parallel
to each other, but rarely
intertwined.
- Retail was either in store
or via home shopping.
- Ex. TV , newspaper,
magazines, and radio
MID- DIGITAL
AGE
-This is a period that
straddles the age
where digital is just
becoming accepted
into the mainstream,
and the age where
digital is fully
immersed into our
society.
POST DIGITAL
AGE
- The post digital
age can be defined
as an age where
everything is
digitally connected.
MEDIA
The primary function of
the media is to transmit
information and
knowledge. The media is
the most effective medium
of mass communication.
The mass communication
approach is carried out
effectively with the help of
various media such as
electronic media, print
media, and online media.
MEDIA CAN BE CONSIDERED AS THE
 THE MESSAGE THE MEDIUM THE MESSENGER

MESSAGE
- FOR THOSE
WHO GENERATE
AND HOLD THE
RIGHTS TO
CONTENT, MEDIA

UNCERTAIN IN THE DIGITAL
