● Founded by Rackspace and NASA in 2009
● The most favorite open source project after Linux kernel
● More than 1400 developer and contributor from 80 country
● More than 140 user community around the world
● OpenStack foundation established in 2010 to support this project
● HP, Red Hat and Mirantis are top company contributors in Juno release
● More than 80% of source code is based on Python

3. Iran OpenStack and OpenStack Foundation
● Iran OpenStack community approved by OpenStack foundation as an
official user group along side of other communities in all around the
world in March 2014.

4. Initial Meetings
● 3 meetings hold off by 11 initial members in March, April and May 2014.
Unfortunately 8 members of community migrated to out of Iran because
of job apply.

5. Superuser Magazine
● First interview and story about Iran OpenStack community published in
official OpenStack magazine the Superuser, before 4th birthday
celebration of OpenStack.

6. Roadmap and Goals
● Iran OpenStack community meetings will be organized for:
● Community gathering
● Technical discussions
● Defining and working on software projects
● Training and workshops
